Would you like this?

It's a fully grown birthday at the end of November.

Was thinking Yankee candle calendar.

Good idea?

Yes I'd like that.

IncomingCannonFire · 14/11/2018 14:33

I wouldn't like that. To me it suggests birthday is not as important as Christmas.
But it depends entirely on the recipient.

mydogishot · 14/11/2018 14:37

Thanks for replies

Hmm hadn't thought it would feel less important.

I thought it was a bit different and she does like candles.

I know I'd like it but just wanted other opinions!

I'd like it but then I love advent calendars.

CrookedMe · 14/11/2018 14:41

Yes, my friend got the M&S one for her birthday yesterday and I'm really jealous!

ileclerc · 14/11/2018 14:43

No I wouldn't like it!

TeenTimesTwo · 14/11/2018 14:43

For an adult that you wouldn't give a Christmas present to? Yes.

Pieceofpurplesky · 14/11/2018 14:45

I would love it. But I really love Yankee candles. Or any candles

Patchworksack · 14/11/2018 14:49

My birthday is at the end of November and I often get an advent calendar. As long as it is a bit more 'gifty' than a £2 one from the supermarket I think it's great. I had an M+S one last year.

Fstar · 14/11/2018 14:59

I would love it. I give my mum one for her november birthday and she loves it as its not something she would buy for herself. I buy her beauty ones.

CoffeeTable · 14/11/2018 15:01

A few years ago we bought MIL a Boots No 7 Advent Calendar for end of November birthday and she loved it. But we knew she liked those products, and we got her something else too.

sausagefingers9 · 14/11/2018 15:03

I would like it if it was the right sort of calendar. Candles would be lost on me but if you got a skincare one I would be in my element.

DreamsofJacaranda · 14/11/2018 15:03

I would love it! A present every day for twenty four days, yes please!

UserMe18 · 14/11/2018 15:05

My mum buys me a Lush or beauty advent calendar for my birthday, I love it. I'm not a fan of YC calendars though as the tea lights aren't great.

ClosestThingToCrazy · 14/11/2018 15:09

We buy my grandad one for his birthday every year and have done for as long as I can remember. He's usually finished it by 5th December, though. A candle one would be harder to do that with than a chocolate one

mydogishot · 14/11/2018 15:15

So more tea than no but maybe rethink calendar.

Thanks all.

Tea? I mean yes obviously!

I’ve got my 26 November birthday Dad a beanies advent. He has everything he wants and buys the best of everything
So I’ve bought that and he gets a travel mug and 2 sachets of coffee on day one, different coffees everyday and then Xmas eve is a mystery jar of coffee

bringincrazyback · 14/11/2018 15:32

I think that's a good birthday present. I'm even giving some people advent calendars as Xmas presents this year (obviously on the basis that they don't have to wait till next advent to open them all, lol)

Isadora2007 · 14/11/2018 15:33

Yes I’d like it

Nicknamesalltaken · 14/11/2018 15:34

Yes. I gave my DF a beer one, DD a Glossybox one and DS a grooming one. I think it’s a great present obviously. Grin

PetuliaBlavatsky · 14/11/2018 15:35

My birthday is end of November and I really wouldn't like an advent calendar for a present. Just seems a bit thoughtless somehow, like getting a generic 'bath and body' gift set or something.

Angelkd · 14/11/2018 15:41

Yeah id like it if it was something i liked x

Hoppinggreen · 14/11/2018 15:42

It’s both my nieces birthdays next week and I always get them advent calendars. It’s, men the week after and someone usually gets me the M&S one

Hoppinggreen · 14/11/2018 15:42

It’s mine ( birthday) not men
