Looking for ideas for ds who will be 3 in November.

He already has a million vehicles, dinosaurs, play kitchen, easel, big tub of blocks, balance bike and various other ride ons

He loves The Incredibles and is starting to show interest in Marvel characters so thought about some action figures and a couple of dress-ups but other than that I'm stumped.

What are your little ones playing with?

Playdoh, leapfrog icecream truck, balance bike and some Peppa pig toys. She just had a birthday and got some flashing shoes, Grimms rainbow, Slyvanian families set, peppa pig books.

InterstellarScreamingElla · 20/10/2018 18:11

My 3.5 yr old asks for everything she sees on tv as the ad is running! However, she is very consistent when asked what she wants Santa to bring her this year she says the Swim to me Puppy, so that will be her main present!

lrwe · 20/10/2018 18:24

Playmobil is top of my 3yo list. I've also got him a wooden fire/police station as he loves little figures and someone I knew was selling theirs as their kids had grown out of it

Nellyelora · 20/10/2018 18:29

My dd is all about baby dolls, small world play, playdoh and colouring in.

How about Duplo? My dd is just starting to get into it.

Aldi have their wooden toy special buy on next week, they usually have some really nice stuff.

PeakTrans · 20/10/2018 19:28

Schleich have a sale just now on their website if you decide to go with them

LookMoreCloselier · 20/10/2018 22:56

My 3yo ds plays with animal figures, vehicles, wooden train set and puzzles. He likes play doh, I hate it lol. For Xmas he's getting Playmobil safari set, Peppa figures, vet set, more vehicles (taxi, ice cream van and bus), more puzzles, books and the owl that lays an egg, have forgotten its name! I just got him some stocking fillers today, I got a kaleidoscope, bubbles, paints, pencils, notebook, animal plasters, clay.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 20/10/2018 23:05

My dds are older but from that age they loved the titan heroes range of superheroes - they are large action figures (currently £6.50 in Sainsbury's or often on offer in the entertainer)

the my busy books - paw patrol, the incredibles 2 and marvel heroes. They are a book with playmat and 12 figures around £5-6 in supermarkets, whsmiths or tkmaxx.

Imaginext is great - the batcave still gets lots of play age 9 and 6. There's also half shell heroes which are same size but ninja turtles.

Happyland - in particular the rocket, Ferris wheel and double decker bus.

Dressing up costumes - ELC/tkmaxx is great for occupational ones, sainsburys/Matalan for the superhero or character. I've seen incredibles ones somewhere but I can't think where. Maybe it was in the Tesco half price toy sale with a toy figure?

A doctors kit - great fun and good for role play. Even better with a box of cheap plasters and bandages.

feelsicksicksick · 20/10/2018 23:25

Quad, motorbike, cycle-bike, scooter, shop, shop stuff, dolls house and that's is it

ShitUsername · 21/10/2018 00:35

Thanks for your suggestions, some fab ideas!

Some of the Titan Heroes are also £6.50 on Amazon if anyone else is after them - Spiderman, Thor and a few others

I’ve got an Incredibles 2 Busy Book stashed away already but I’ll keep an eye out for the Marvel version as they are great

Playdoh is a must - I hate the stuff but ds would happily play with it mush it in to the floor all day if I let him

I saw a little doctors kit in Home Bargains the other day that would have been ideal, wish I’d picked it up now. Adding plasters is a great idea - my kids are weirdly obsessed with plasters so they would love that lol

What kind of things are usually in the Aldi wooden toy buy? I had a look on the website earlier but couldn’t see much

Ds will be 3 in December, he is asking for paw patrol mashems and pj masks blind bags. I've told family just to get him a big box filled with blind bags (like a lucky dip!). He watches too much YouTube (youngest of 5 dc)

giveovermypreciousss · 21/10/2018 09:19

My ds will be 3 in January.
Hes getting a new scooter with lights, animal figures and mkre duplo. He will probs get a new garage, cars and a soft toy as well.

giveovermypreciousss · 21/10/2018 09:20

Oh and he will be getting a cry baby. Hes been wanting one for months.

Nellyelora · 21/10/2018 09:21

Last year I bought my dd a wooden kitchen from aldi. A friend bought a wooden pirate ship and train set. I think they have a tool bench this year.

ShitUsername · 21/10/2018 10:50

Nelly I obviously wasn’t looking hard enough, I’ve just had another look this morning and there’s some really nice bits on there. The garage looks great for £19.99!

I've just ordered about half of the Aldi toys for DS aged 3.5 - play kitchen (not the super duper mega one), a load of play food etc, the marble run and the magnetic fishing game. Also a Noah's ark for my niece. Better stop now!

We got the garage last year and it's good but have had trouble with the lift - possibly my ineptitude in assembling it, but he always points out 'oh dear, the lift is not working properly' Blush

SheldonSaysSo · 21/10/2018 17:22

Books, puzzles or maybe simple games. We have started buying matching pair games etc for our little one who is just turned 3. She doesn't play completely by the rules but its a work in progress!

LaGruffaloGrumble · 21/10/2018 17:26

This year he’s getting the Fisher Price Batcave playset from Argos - it’s nice and chunky, comes fully assembled (which after last Christmas feels like a bloody win!) and came with a free Batmobile and Joker van and figures and he is going to be thrilled with it.

Link here for the epic deal

That said, a previous poster mentioned the VTech ice cream truck. DS got that last Christmas aged 2.5 and he absolutely loved it. It is the only gift from last year that both he and DD (4) have fought over played with every day since last Christmas. I can’t recommend it enough.

Mondaytired · 21/10/2018 17:27

My DS is three and superhero obsessed... he loves these www.argos.co.uk/product/5589997?storeID=4421&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59156%7Cacid:444-797-0832%7Ccid:598623310%7Cagid:28645194565%7Ctid:aud-484139255741:pla-199044628885%7Ccrid:96091055125%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:2700306568953804346%7Cdvc:m%7Cadp:1o2%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9041128&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1dyW1fmX3gIVo7DtCh3IjgohEAQYAiABEgL07vD_BwE

He has a lot of the sets and has asked for the power rangers megazoid for Xmas...
he will also get some Spider-Man related things.

Spudlet · 21/10/2018 17:31

A season ticket for a local attraction that he loves - he's been able to get in for free up to now, but once he turns 3 (he's a christmas baby) he'll need his own. I'll wrap it up with an appropriately themed book or toy.

lpchill · 21/10/2018 17:35

We will be getting between us, family and Santa and birthday as her bday is 2nd Jan so at a big list but gets split between Xmas and birthday.
Wooden car park (as it doubles up as a dolls house)
Teepee for the bedroom
Bubble machine (loves bubbles and I'm sick of either running out of puff or the mix on the floor)
Leapfrog leapstart with a load of books
Play dough( as you can never have enough)
More Ikea brio stuff (addicted to cars and trains)
Balance bike (need a 14inch one)
Doctors and dentist set
Magnet books
Grow your veggies kit (so they can see the roots grow)
Mini bat and ball
Silicone muffin cases (loves baking with me)
Replacement bath toys
Glow in the dark stars
And at this rate a new bed as her current one is breaking
I'm also on the look out for a good car toy.

fuckwitseverywhere · 21/10/2018 18:17

We're skipping duplo and going for Lego juniors. He loves it and whilst he needs help to build things now, he won't forever. Also getting a play mobile zoo

ShitUsername · 21/10/2018 22:32

That Batcave set looks amazing - I'm adding that to his list. And I want the Megazord for myself 😂

OP posts:
SuperheroWellies · 22/10/2018 00:17

Mine wants tons of games like crocodile dentist, giggle wiggle, tumbling monkeys. He’s also getting a fire engine (probably playmobil) and maybe a crate creature

nuttynutjob · 22/10/2018 03:31

Playdoh like the advent calendar, sweet shoppe kitchen creations, shoppe creation, Rapulzel styling head

Disney Princess Belle Light up shoes
Paw patrol toys, illuminate
PJ Mask
Shimmer Shine Playset

BroomOnTheRoom · 22/10/2018 06:24

@lpchill - where are the grow your own veggies kits from? I think Dd would get a kick from seeing the roots grow.
