Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Friskybivalves where did you get the mi fit from and would you recc it for a 7 year old? She loves checking my fitbit out but I feel she's too young to invest in the kids fitbit.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 18/10/2018 21:39

I found you!!

Elphaba17 · 18/10/2018 21:43

Buckeejit yes they're a lucky dip unless you buy the bigger sets which have specific dolls in them. Tesco have 10% off the lol stuff at the minute and I think Sainsbury's have 20%? The eye spy one is the newest one and I think it's the best and most interesting of the smaller ones.

Mammyofonlyone · 18/10/2018 21:50

I was in this spot last Christmas buck. I presumed I was missing something with the whole LOL doll thing but they really as mindless as they seem!
The normal ones cost between £10 and £16 but basically you get much the same in each one. It's a lucky dip as to which actual doll you get, in terms of what it's wearing and if it cries/colour changes etc.
There are then little sisters and lol pets which I think are cheaper and come in smaller packets but if she's asked for a doll itself I'd stick to the dolls themselves.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 18/10/2018 21:52

I second the mi bands. I have had one about 3 years and it's still going strong. The strap could do with replacing but that's because I need to keep my hands busy and keep popping it out. DH has had one about 2 years and his is a bit fancier than mine with a screen. We both love them.

Does anyone know if the Smyth's discount gets added automatically or if you need a voucher. I'm hoping to go in store tomorrow.

Finally, not a huge bargain but Asda have a lovely dinosaur Train track for £40 it looks lovely.

buckeejit · 18/10/2018 22:03

Ugh. I might say Santa had a problem with the LOL,doll. She also wants a mermaid blanket & has done for ages, are there any nice ones out there?

Mammyofonlyone · 18/10/2018 22:09

Buck I bought some pink/purple fleece ones with sequins around the top for either £8 or £9 for presents for DDs friends from
B and M. They aren't mega tasteful but they are really soft, generous sized and the girls LOVE them.
My daughter will defo be disappointed when she gets the hand knitted one her granny is making which cost me a about four times that much in wool!

LibertineLola · 18/10/2018 22:13

Casablanca78 I will send you a boden code now

MummaPI · 18/10/2018 22:15

Play station controllers never seem to be on offer anywhere, does anyone know if they will do much on black Friday?

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 18/10/2018 22:23

Buck, I'm quite sure I saw some in home bargains. I want to say pastel coloured, maybe blue. Popping into Smyth's next door tomorrow so will have a look and try to get a picture.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 18/10/2018 22:29

buck we are new to them too, dd is desperate for one after seeing them at a friends. So we have got her one of the new eye spy ones for £12 in Sainsbury's sale (also £13.49 on Amazon) and a pet one for £8. I've asked family to get her them too so she will have a few to play with. Personally I think it's overpriced tat but she will be over the moon!! At least they have some play value unlike some of the tat in the catalogues 😂

The entertainer had lots of LOL bits in, blankets for £5, soft balls for £1, colouring sheets, sticker sets £2 each, various games/puzzles/art sets too. I bought the stickers to go with the decorate your own dolls house from hobby craft.

Dontknowwhattodo987 · 18/10/2018 22:40

I have a Boden code for £10 off a £30 spend if anyone wants it, to be used by 21st Oct

MummaPI · 18/10/2018 23:12

buck mermaid blankets in the Matalan Christmas catalogue. They'll be online

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 18/10/2018 23:15

That reminds me, the entertainer had a LOL puzzle for £1 - possibly the most reasonably priced LOL thing I have come across. They also had hatchimals.

WoahBodyforrrrm · 18/10/2018 23:23

I picked up the LOL confetti dolls in Tesco today for £9.50, not a massive saving as they’re usually £11ish, but I believe the confetti ones are now an old series so will be harder to come by soon, and my twins girls love the fact the ball releases confetti when you open it!

I find the whole series thing confusing....I have no idea what I’m doing Confused

Lol surprise under wraps- the capsule one -currently £12 on Amazon.

DaisyChops · 19/10/2018 01:25

A pp mentioned that Sainsbury's owns Argos, thought it was worth mentioning that something that was out of stock in all the nearby Argos shops was available on Sainsbury's online shopping!! Pita setting myself up and doing a shop but worth it!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 19/10/2018 06:33

Good price for the Playmobil Police Headquarters at the moment on Amazon

There’s 25% off Toms (footwear) with FRIENDS18.

friskybivalves · 19/10/2018 08:42

Elphaba yes the mi band would be great for a seven year old. There is a separate app and ours have sync'ed with it right off the bat (on iPhone so check it works with android but I can't imagine they don't have an Android app.) It has really helped get my DS zooming around. He loves measuring his steps. It also tells the time and date and he keeps telling me the weather forecast too. I bought him a range of different coloured straps (loads on Amazon around £10 for ten) and they fit small wrists perfectly.

Design wise it looks way more expensive than it is. The glass is domed and curved. Very tactile. I have a far more expensive Fitbit and am very tempted to swap - certainly if I lost my Fitbit I wouldn't bother replacing it and would get a miband instead.

I've attached a pic of the one I got. The black strap doesn't show it off to best advantage IMHO. Wink

DillieDoily · 19/10/2018 08:52

This Barbie Chelsea clubhouse with doll looks like a nice set and is reduced to £13.24 on Amazon. (Currently trying to resist buying it for DD as I think I've bought her enough now)

TalkingOrmer · 19/10/2018 09:09
