Favourite Christmas "posh" treats

I'm looking for some nice little treats that obviously wouldn't be brought on a normal basis.

We usually like to get some posh biscuits from Fortnum and mason and some Charbonnel et Walker chocolate truffles.

What are your little Christmas luxury's? X

Rose and violet chocolates - love them - won't name manufacturer or will be accused of making/selling them Grin

showmewhatyougot · 09/10/2018 17:23

Oh sorry, didn't think of that!

I hand on heart, brownies promise I work for non of the above named companies!

They sound delicious though!

Oh don't worry about that, it's just that I wanted to discuss doormats and I was accused of manufacturing them, selling them, all sorts! Cray-cray Grin

CaramelAngel · 09/10/2018 17:35

CaramelAngel · 09/10/2018 17:35

I mean cherry liqueur chocs

TaintforTheLikesOfWe · 09/10/2018 17:35

Pickled Walnuts. OMG! Crushed onto buttered nice crackers with a bit of mild cheese. A mouthful of Christmas right there.

Tobebythesea · 09/10/2018 18:11

Matchmakers and After Eight mints. And Cheeselets!

Goldenphoenix · 09/10/2018 19:39

Marzipan fruits, fruit jellies and turkish delights

PippaRabbit · 09/10/2018 20:49

Pickled Walnuts? You can't say that then not tell us where to get them. Are they soft from the picking?

RosyfingeredDawn · 09/10/2018 20:50

Florentines.

gothefcktosleep · 09/10/2018 20:58

Molton Brown soap and moisturiser in Fabled Juniper Berries and Lapp Pine.

Cheekyandfreaky · 09/10/2018 21:00

A mulled wine or just a candle that smells of mulled wine. Roasted nuts by the bucket load!

GinFuzzy · 09/10/2018 21:07

Oh yes, rose and violet creams... duck and orange pate, amaretti biscuits to dunk in mulled wine (try it!) Strawberry and champagne conserve, sherry...

AgnesNaismith · 09/10/2018 21:09

How odd - rose and violet creams for me too. I’ve always had fortnum mason but very interested if there is another producer?

AgnesNaismith · 09/10/2018 21:10

Also chocolate orange, after eights, pate and all of the cheese.

LightDrizzle · 09/10/2018 21:19

I don’t know if this counts as you have to assemble it but proper snowballs! Poncy lemonade, advocaat, freshly squeezed lime juice and fine zest.
It signals the start of Christmas in our house.

QueenOfMyWorld · 09/10/2018 21:27

Baileys,toffeefee,cheese selection,smoked salmon

Deminism · 09/10/2018 21:28

Mandelmassa almond paste (v posh marzipan)

purplecorkheart · 09/10/2018 21:34

M@S canapes, I stock up on a load and have them over Christmas when I am going to veg out in front of movies/netflix etc. I keep am eye on the reduced section and freeze them for Christmas. The mini yorkshire beef puddings are my favourite.

PrincessTwilightStoleMyToddler · 09/10/2018 21:34

Tarta de Santiago - awesome Spanish almond cakey thing with a cross silhouetted in icing sugar on top. Only ever buy it at Christmas.

Also quince jelly to go with the cheese board.

Polkapjs · 09/10/2018 21:40

Bendicks mints - especially bitter mints

PoliticalBiscuit · 09/10/2018 21:47

Marks and Spencers pain au chocolat frozen and raw.

They taste so good when you bake them that it's a treat I will only allow myself at Christmas.

Oh and Guernsey gold top milk with some naff chocolatey cereal - perfect Christmas breakfast!

bellsbuss · 09/10/2018 21:49

Little scarlet strawberry jam, Harvey Nichols marmalade, biscuits, chocs and nuts. Veuve cliquot champagne and Molten brown hand wash and hand cream ( I make the children use the normal dove otherwise it would be gone in a flash) we then have the usual tub mountain of roses, quality street, mini cheddars, cheese footballs, kp nuts and tins of foxes biscuits

Momasita · 09/10/2018 22:36

Another rose and violets cream fan, what's the name of the maker! For goodness sake tell us you won't be accused of anything Grin

Yy to pates... I've been trying out smoked salmon, nothing seems to taste as good as my childhood, not even the one I had delivered from Scotland. If anyone has good brand let me know
