My child is X years old and this is what they want/play with

A place to put suggestions of what your kids ages and favourite toys have been as a tool for those who need ideas.

My kids are six and four. Stuff they have loved and played with....

Dd(5) bag of assorted size and colour marbles.
Ds(3) dinosaurs that come with legs which can be screwed off and on again.

Dd and Ds(2) a small "proper" guitar with four strings and no discernable chords.

@itisthattimeagain they're called mudpuppy puzzles to go. They are 36 pieces so ds can't do them on his own, but he really enjoys doing them with us.

Dd1 9 (10 in november) loves reading dork diaries, wimpy kid, storey tree house, dav pilkey, graphic novels and comics. She likes to draw and colour especially comics! Lego - mostly just bricks and people not big sets. Figures like shopkins, Disney. Teddies in particular Pokemon build a bear. Playing roblox and Minecraft on her tablet and Pokemon on her Nintendo 2ds. Playmobil. Harry potter And pusheen the cat.

Dd2 6 - loves dolls like shopkins, enchantimals, equestria girls, monster high. Small figures especially the my busy books - favourite at the moment is Peter rabbit and moana. Animal figures, we have a large collection on the Disney ones from a subscription. Her moana costume and necklace. Books by sue hendra, Nick sharratt, please mr panda. Jojo bows, Tutus, glitter and reversible sequins. Small cuddly toys like beanie boos. Playing crossy road on her tablet or legend of zelda/warioware on her Nintendo 2ds.

Both like games like bugs in the kitchen, junior monopoly, junior game of life and payday. Top trumps are fun too and I buy a set each year relating to their current interests :)

I’ve googled and I’ve read but I still don’t get - what is Roblox?!

@mrspear roblox is a website where you can play different games as a square kind of person/character. I’m not sure that’s the best description... you can interact with other people playing roblox as well.

DD (9) - LOL Dolls, Lego friends, squishies, notebooks (forever writing stories), scratch off art sets e.g. scratch unicorn art books

DD (4) LOL Dolls, playmobil, the disney animator small 'house sets' so ariels palace, snow whites house etc. She still likes happyland too

Isadora2007 thanks - don’t think mine are the right age yet.

Mine are 8 and 5 but about to have birthdays. They both love trains, Lego and football. The youngest loves his dinosaurs from books to tv - walk with dinosaurs to toys. The eldest is started to express interest in gaming. Thankfully they both still enjoy reading.

DD almost 5 loves Barbies, Disney princess, LOL dolls, cupcake surprise dolls, fingerling, any sort of blind bag, she's getting back into playing with her little figures, still plays with her wooden play food, back into baby and pram a little, scooter, jigsaws, unicorns, shopkins, particularly the playsets like the supermarket. Slime, still likes playdoh, magnetic tiles, drawing, painting etc. Glitter pens. She wants a Barbie house and Barbie car for xmas and polly pocket.

DS almost 2 - he's not massively into toys tbh. Faves are his sister's babies and pram, Beatbop, remote control Thomas the Tank (fave toy), Tomy eggs, shape sitters and puzzles, magnetic tiles, picture books. We're getting him some Happyland although he has no interest in it yet and a remote control Lightening McQueen.

Hugely into trading cards - World Cup and Pokemon

Doesn't play much with toys at the moment, though will play with dinosaurs, ninja figurines, small race cars

We think a huge hit will be his mp3 player - he loves listening to music and dancing

DS 4
Loves monster trucks, playing boats on our blue rugs, little cars, "cooking" food, playing shops (unfortunately never alone!), his bike

DD 8 loves playing with Our Generation dolls, Lego Friends, anything medical (drs kit), large dolls house which she uses for LOL dolls, Barbie. She's also a complete bookworm, so will get lots of books for Christmas, more Lego (inc Harry Potter), she wants that slime pooping Unicorn too 🙄, and some Our Generation bits.

DS 4, Thomas trains (recently rediscovered due to new World Adventures series), Lego Juniors, Super Wings, and Blaze and the MM.

DS6 - lego, magic tricks, chocolate coin maker, schleich animals

DD5 - toy kitchen stuff, sylvanian families, polly pocket, smiggle stationary

DD4 - my little pony, cat themed stuff, shoes (!), lego

My ds is 11 and plays with Pokemon cards, Nintendo 3DS and Pokemon games, her Intuos graphics tablet, and she loves reading graphic novels and manga. She loves little collectible figures like funko Pops.

Dd2 is 5 and loves LOL dolls, Baby Secrets and Baby Annabelle. But mostly her LOL dolls.

Dd3 20 months loves wooden trains and tracks.
