Although there was a lot of rain overnight here, it has now passed over and the grey skies are not heavy and threatening, just dull. so hopefully it will pass over the UK soon as well.

I think we get it in London tonight and tomorrow Biddy.

I think I have found MIL's final present, just checking with DH. So much more organised with present buying this year, I just need to keep it up.

Just had to lug home 2 buckets of Lego, a huge chocolate tray bake and all the usual shopping. 😭

Christmas hope the sick disappears soon and you don't get it too! I hate sick luckily our house has been bug free for years (touch wood!).

redgreen How many more presents do you have left to buy? not many people here to shop for but everyone does the whole ' oh I don't need anything' spiel so it gets trickier every year!

Still loads to go seafood as both DH and I come from divorced families so lots of people to buy for and we can't do just children as so far DS is the only child in the family.

I do a make your own turkey sandwich as a buffet. I buy a rolled turkey joint from Aldi or Iceland and then supply bread, stuffing, pigs in blankets and sauces. I'd then put out crudites, dips and maybe a quiche.

Red cabbage I adore, but I would hesitate unless it is a sit down affair due to dropability.

Sounds fab fur, might go for that instead!

We didn't go to BrynBach park after , DH said his shoulder was aching in the night and l think we/he overdid it yesterday , my sciatica twinged a little but nothing to what it was , so came home and cleaned the bedrooms bathroom and changed the beds washing on the line as we speak , hope it dries for me
We both just watched a brilliant old film called Laughter in Paradise it was absolutely brilliant! Taped it off TALKING PICTURES.

MrsMad I must admit I've never been to Goldcliffe. I've missed a lot of local treasures I think (and I went to Big Pit for the first time ever at age 30)!

Nothing wrong with your turkey choice. We tend to go a bit poncetastic with ours (farmers market usually and always free range) but then we buy the frozen free range Sainsbury's ones when they get reduced in January.
I like doing the farmers market in the run up to Christmas though, very festive.

Redgreen I second removing the red cabbage just incase but apart from that it sounds lovely.
I would maybe suggest looking into some delicious virgin cocktails too as I'm sometimes the designated driver and lemonade can be boring!

Evening all, had a really busy first few days of the week. Been planning for John’s 2nd birthday later this month. Lorcan met some new nursery friends who he got on well with (I cried when I got home). And then Arthur got sent home from school with a sickness bug, so we’ve been very busy. He’s still being sick so a lot of cuddles tonight in our bed.

Crazy we love the Turkeys from Aldi and their Stollen as well , their mince pies are delish too , l need to look out for them too
Goldcliff is a mixed bag , we go the opposite way to the Lighthouse , we went the lighthouse way once and we didn't like it at all .
We love Tredegar House too .This Sat is free for everyone if you want to go and not got NT membership too ! It is wonderful there we just love it.

Just had great news one of the DC l used to look after has been to theatre for a Port a Cath and is out of surgery and doing great in recovery Thank God! I have kept in touch with the family because well l suppose l really am very fond of them all. They put up with me anyway so they must like me
