What Christmas Films do I need in my collection?

My DS will be nearly 2 this Christmas so I want to start doing the tradition where we watch a couple of Christmassy films a week up to Christmas Day!
We have already: Elf, Muppets Christmas Carol, It's a Wonderful Life, Trains Planes & Automobiles and the Home Alone's - what else do I need in your opinion?!!

Japril · 14/08/2018 08:14

For when he is a bit older you need Nativity (and all the sequels).

TheLabradoodlesAunt · 14/08/2018 08:17

Arthur Christmas
Polar Express
Miracle on 34th Street

FilthyforFirth · 14/08/2018 08:21

Second the polar express. Would also add Arthur Christmas, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch, Once Upon a Mickey Christmas...

qate · 14/08/2018 08:34

I'd echo Nativity, and also The Santa Clause - I still love that one!

comeagainforbigfudge · 14/08/2018 08:38

Father christmas (i may love this one the most)
And The snowman

MyPatronusIsABadger · 14/08/2018 08:41

The Bishops Wife (or the remake- A Preachers Wife) if you’re having Its A Wonderful Life

IggyAce · 14/08/2018 08:42

The Santa clause, elf, polar express, miracle on 34th street, Arthur Christmas and nativity and all sequels are must watch before Christmas in our house.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/08/2018 10:09

A Christmas Story. It's an American classic :)

funmummy48 · 14/08/2018 10:12

Another vote for Father Christmas & The snowman. My eldest daughter (26) & youngest (17) still insist on watching these together. They're such lovely films.

The Greatest Store in the World. Every year I search for it and I've just found a copy and ordered it :)

AlwaysWantedToBeATenenbaum · 14/08/2018 10:58

Thanks everyone - I've just ordered Miracle on 34th Street and will get the others in the lead up to Christmas!!
I've never heard of Nativity but will take a look!

A bit of an odd one but a woman and her children become homeless so they decide to live in a department store. Lots of silly adventures ensue. It has Peter Capaldi in.

Just in case anyone else is a fan, I finally found the DVD here after years of searching. I've just ordered it so hopefully it will be as good as I remember Grin

TheLabradoodlesAunt · 14/08/2018 18:12

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Grin

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 14/08/2018 18:21

Also on YouTube!

Dottierichardson · 14/08/2018 18:29

The original cartoon version of How the Grinch stole Christmas is good as is A Charlie Brown Christmas, also Judy Garland in Meet me in St Louis, runs through the season but has a wonderful Christmas sequence.

SamSmithYawnsWhenHeSings · 14/08/2018 18:30

Santa clause the movie!

Bellabutterfly2016 · 14/08/2018 18:40

Just get home alone 1&2
I don't know why they bothered making 3 and 4, they're rubbish!!!!!!!!!

Also like miracle on 34th street and for adults, Love Actually x

Jessica78 · 14/08/2018 22:27

Also for you - have just rewatched the Bridget Jones trilogy which whilst they go through the year, have lots of wintery/Christmas bits. Turkey curry anyone?

Oh... Has anyone mentioned the Muppet Christmas Carol?
