GH Get Ahead For Xmas 2018 magazine

Bought this magazine yesterday and really like it.

There's a couple of things that are on their calendar which are later than I'd do them.

The get ahead recipes are great though. All fairly straight forward and a lot of them are crowd pleaders so perfect for entertaining.

Has anyone else bought it?

I cannot find this anywhere!

I tried my 8th shop today.... the woman at the till looked shiftily at me as though I was a shoplifter

Where abouts in the wh smiths racks have people found it? Near the normal ghk magazine?

No @balalalala it was further along than the monthly women's mags in WH Smith.

Found in Morrisons today. Only two copies left. One was all bent and tatty. I was devastated as I thought it was the only one left. Luckily though the tatty one was in the wrong place and there was a beautiful pristine one further along the rack. Perfect for a rainy Sunday.

I think I'll have to, I'm getting used to the "Ermmm it's August " from the shops (maybe the shop staff I speak to don't dawdle near the magazines and are secretly dreading the fact that the Christmas stock is in the warehouse waiting to be set out)?

There are Christmas sewing and craft magazines I've seen (and a load of mags that I never knew existed .....one all about Gin! )

DD and I were in London today but there weren't any big newsagent and DD won't set foot in M&S unless it's to go to the Cafe.

WildIrish, are the recipes in that new, or recycled from old editions, do you know?

I tried the biggest magaziney shop in my town and got the 'oh, not yet, it's only august' answer, with an incredulous expression. I don't really want to order online, it's £11.98 for deivery to Irelend!

From what I can see, some recycled some new.

It's quite annoying that they recycle so many, without even attempting to make them a bit different! But I do generally like Good Food magazine so I'll have a look for that one. Thanks WildIrishRose1 :)

My copy of the Irish Countrywoman's Christmas book arrived today. I'm looking forward to snuggling up with that on a more autumnal day. It's quite summery here today. I've already spotted a recipe for potato stuffing that I'm going to have to try

Having read the GF Christmas mag I am impressed - lots of vegetarian recipes and lovely photographs.... looking forward to trying the food.

Ooh I'm vegetarian so that sounds ideal. I'll have to look out for it :)

There's not that many vegetarian recipes in the Irish Countrywomen's book, but I mainly just got it as I love browsing Christmas books there's some lovely stories and poems in between. It will definitely be a one to actually read rather than just flick through. Lots of recipes for mincemeat, cakes etc. Sorry, that's not a very helpful answer!
