GH Get Ahead For Xmas 2018 magazine

Bought this magazine yesterday and really like it.

There's a couple of things that are on their calendar which are later than I'd do them.

The get ahead recipes are great though. All fairly straight forward and a lot of them are crowd pleaders so perfect for entertaining.

Has anyone else bought it?

Ok, I've been to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Eason and Spar and none have it.

BossWitch · 14/08/2018 15:16

When are we allowed to start talking about it?!?!?

AdoraBell · 14/08/2018 15:19

I’ll have a look, but I'm thinking £12.99 is insane for a magazine.

Piccolino2 · 14/08/2018 17:03

I got mine in M&S. I love it! When can we talk about it and things we're going to do?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 17:19

GH is £4.99. It was another which was £12.99. Even I wouldn't pay that much!

Can we talk about it now?!

BossWitch · 14/08/2018 17:44

I definitely want to make some of the flavoured gins. I've got a few gin-obsessed relatives so if i can find some pretty, quite small glass bottles that will be a winner presents wise.

ReevaDiva · 14/08/2018 17:50

I want this, mainly because I'm not doing Christmas for the first time in 5 years, so I can smugly pick and choose what I can be bothered with, and what I can't be arsed faffing with. Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 18:33

I'm doing the bark and the semifreddo, as well as sausage rolls, Thai crab cakes and mince pies. Oh, and chicken and chorizo parcels! Xmas Grin

CanineEnigma · 14/08/2018 18:36

Oooh the DC are back at school and nursery tomorrow so I might nip into WHSmith to get this to go with my Back To School coffee Grin

FilthyforFirth · 14/08/2018 18:47

I got mine in Smiths. Some yummy gin recipies I cant wait to try! Only half way through, the second half tonight as I have a blissful night to myself :)

FlibbertyGiblets · 14/08/2018 18:52

I cracked and googled the bark (xmas 2017) I AM SO MAKING BOTH ⛄🐂

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 18:58

🦌 you mean?!

madvixen · 14/08/2018 18:59

No sign of it at WH Smith Marylebone. I'll have to raid M&S at the weekend

FireflyGirl · 14/08/2018 19:17

I got mine today from WH Smith's. It wasn't with the other Good Housekeeping, it was with the 'seasonal' summer food mags.

VivaJen · 14/08/2018 19:45

Picked up my copy in WH Smith in Troon today - soooo happy!

madvixen · 14/08/2018 19:51

@FireflyGirl thank you! I will try again on my way through tomorrow

FlatPackFurnitureCompAnyone · 14/08/2018 19:57

I think it will be a while before I get my hands on it but I’m happy for everyone else to discuss it Wink

I’ll pop into Waterstones tomorrow but I’m thinking they won’t have it for at least a few weeks if it’s only just come out.

I was reading Nigella Christmas in the garden today and perusing the recipes Grin🎄 🦌 ❄️ 🎅🏻

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 20:30

The rocky road from Nigella is amazing! As are the oaty / cranberry cookies.

I bought both Nigella's and Jamie's Christmas books second hand last year and love both of them!

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 14/08/2018 20:32

Ngella's chilli jam is lovely too.

FlatPackFurnitureCompAnyone · 14/08/2018 20:48

Oooh Jamie’s Christmas you say?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 21:18

I prefer this chilli jam. Everyone who's tasted mine raves about it!

Jamie's one is this one:

Jamie’s book is ordered and on its way to me Blush

PrivateParkin · 14/08/2018 21:27

The prima one which is £12.99 has a pattern in it (for a blouse) so I think that's probably why it's so pricey, as you are paying for the pattern as well. I've got it but not read it properly yet.

Haven't seen the GH one yet. Looking out for it though!

FireflyGirl · 14/08/2018 21:31

I love my Nigella Christmas book.

There are loads of Jamie cooks Christmas type shows on More4. I can't see from my phone whether they're available or not. Might persuade DH he needs a night out with his friends on Saturday...

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2018 21:48

FlatPack, it was a thread like this last year which led to me buying it! 😂
