I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

I feel like I am looking through fog and walking through treacle today. One of my staff came in to argue through a couple of VERY technical legal points and I was sooo completely lost.....

DH woke DD up about 8.30, and despite a later than expected bedtime last night, she still went sailing today. But she's on a complete "lazy day" tomorrow - the only thing to do is pack her clothes for the weekend and gear for an event on Sunday (we travel tomorrow night for a weekend visiting my DPs and extended family on the west coast, then DH and DD are going to the north coast for the sailing event while I stay 1 extra night and then drive back to the east coast with 1 DSis going to the airport (near home) - luckily there's a BH on Monday for us all to recover).

I feel your DH's pain, Mrs, as my shoulder still really hurts too! I hope his is better soon.

Bit overcast here today. Plenty warm enough though still.

DH is off clearing mounds of weeds from the allotment today! And my DM has agreed to partially fund a small shed for my birthday present! 😁

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 01/08/2018 20:09

My birthday's on the 13th too Mrs! 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 01/08/2018 20:21

DS2 had sausage, chips and peas, a gingerbread man, a Haribo cupcake and a chocolate chip cookie, my mum had chicken and porcini mushroom pie, mash, peas and gravy and a chocolate chip cookie, I had lasagne and salad and a Solero, dropped DS2 off at Adventure, picked him up at 5, had Lancashire hotpot for supper, DS2 was in bed by 8, I'm in bed now. 😋🍟🍪🍗🍄🍪😋😴

CrazyBaubles · 01/08/2018 20:52

Mrs does that mean you didn't make it to Tenby? I haven't been in years but I loved it there. We used to stay in a friends cottage that had a stable door so could open just to the top and it was a stones throw from the beach so you could smell the sea.

RedGreen beware of all the hours you're going to lose to Pinterest. I have a very extensive Christmas decorations, Home decorations, dream home, fashion, crafts, Christmas crafts and present idea boards (amongst others)!

Today has been a very bad day. We found out a friend has lost his mum very unexpectedly (she was only 58). We both knew her and she was lovely.

Work was also awful - too many meeting requiring concentration that I just didn't have today. So I'm home, trying to distract myself by crocheting a border on a blanket I have made for my nephew.

Sorry for the sad post. I am enjoying the colder weather though.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/08/2018 20:58

Oh no, Crazy. Your poor friend. Sorry to hear that. Flowers

We’ve been busy since I got home from work: I mowed the lawn and we made chocolate beetroot cake and chilli jam too. Having a sit down now!

Mrsmadevans · 01/08/2018 22:17

Ohhh Crazy l am so sorry my dear that is just so sad , she would only have been a year older than me, still so young and even though my DDs are 23 nearly and 24 l would hate to leave them still so young , it makes you want to shudder at the thought of it . I suppose it really focuses what is most important in life and it is always family and our Health money never comes into it . Just awful . Hugs my dear Flowers
We didn't make it to Tenby you are right and YES l totally agree with you it is one of my most favourite places even , just something about it Crazy .
Fluffy well done on the tommyartoes coming and l hope your shoulder is much better too, than you for the commiserations for DH shoulder he is in quite a bit of pain with it bless him . He will be ok l am sure he had it before and it got much better then he stupidly forgot and hoisted a 11 litre full of water in a watering can above shoulder height to water the hanging baskets Hmm. Choc beetroot cake oh my that sounds delish! You are such a busy gel , l take my hat off to you . Great idea for your DM to part fund the shed for you . We need a new shed badly , ours is falling to pieces but l am worried about the hedgehogs being under it , l am daft l know , l worry about everything , that poor chicken on the Marigold hotel tonight urggh !
PSB you are in bed early but l know you woke early this morn so have a good sleep tonight l hope! I will remember your birthday Smile
Biddy you have a bank holiday on Monday you lucky thing you Grin, hope your DD enjoys her lazy day tomoz , it sounds like she deserves it and you Flowers
Right better go and do a grocery order for the DD1 in Manc , she is finding it really hard atm (bit down bless her) so l am getting a Tesco order sent to her every week to the Uni halls for her. I can't stop using Tesco delivery now l have found it lol ordering lots of ice cream, coke and crisps lol Grin not healthy but extremely nice and just the job when you need a bit of cheering up. DD1 is at the end of the second year and l think she is missing home and getting fed up of the hard work involved it is never ending or at least it seems like it .
Have a good night everyone Smile

CrazyBaubles · 01/08/2018 23:15

Thank you both. It really is shocking. I'm in my early 30s and my mum is only slightly younger than friends mum. Makes me really consider what is important, you're right.

Fluffy I'm holding out high hopes for your allotment. Just imagine, next year you'll be able to grow most of the veg for your Sunday dinner!

Mrs organising a delivery is such a sweet idea. And don't worry about the unhealthy stuff, just make sure you include some bananas or strawberries - healthy and easy to snack on.

I've finished the blanket now. Just need to hide the edges, block it then back it only fleece. Nephew is going to be so pleased I think - it's superhero themed

Morning! Last morning going in early today. Almost caught up with myself, but today is a write off after 3pm, so I need to crack on!

Tomorrow is already looking busy as I want to go to the woods to scavenge any early blackberries and then the kids want to go into the beach for a while too. Then I'll head to the allotment when we get back! I'm hoping DH will get more weeds cleared today so I can get the poly stuff down and the ground dug to put my veggies in on Sat!

Redgreencoverplant · 02/08/2018 08:41

So sorry to hear that crazy Flowers

I am on fire today, have ordered some embroidery hoops and fabric to make some Scandi decorations and am pinning away on Pinterest.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 08:56

Flowers Crazy. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Morning!

I know what you mean Mrs, DS 27 will need a carer when we go, my mum said last week when she was here, "I'll have to get back and make DS his dinner", DH, who's only known them a couple of years (NC), said, "can't he get his own dinner?" We had to explain, with very little food and oxygen, he can't get up and move around much. It's a shame, because he loved cooking when he was little. I'm afraid I get a little short tempered, because I have to explain to everyone all the time about CF.

That's the time I'd like to go to bed every night, but DD goes to bed at 10 at the moment, although I'm usually in bed by then, she's in our room for WiFi. I'll have one late night on Friday, then she's off to camp for a week. I have a lark and an owl, so I'm up early and in bed late. I think I lose about an hour a night, so 7 hours a week. 😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 08:58

And I'll remember your DD2's birthday too! 😆 It was DD2, wasn't it?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 09:22

I just checked. My memory isn't completely rubbish!

Mrsmadevans · 02/08/2018 09:39

Morning all Smile
Just getting ready to go to the parents, then home to take DD2 to the dentist for the Tooth out , she is very worried . I told her l will give her a Valium from my mums tablet store (she has a couple for muscle spasms in the past) . I am not going to give her any , l am going to give her a saccharine tablet and some Bachs rescue remedy lol. I am naughty lying to her but l am hoping the placebo effect will work on her subconcious, devious moi lol !
Crazy well done on the Superhero blanket for your DN l am sure he will love it! I did send peaches, bananas, clems and grapes on her order so it should be a little bit healthy for her lol .
Fluffy well done on the allotment prep and here's hoping you get plenty of early blackberries! Not got any ripe here yet but you might be luckier than us .
PSB l remember you telling me your DS had CF , such a horribly debilitating disease. Lots of ppl don't realise how hard it is , bless him and you it can't be easy for you and it must be such a worry, hugs galore, Flowers you get all the rest you want .
Yes it is my DD2 birthday the same day as you , l am racking my brains (l have two don't you know lol) what to get her but inevitably it will be money and a few little things , spray tan , smellies, sweeties & bottle of vino she likes .
Right better shift and have a bath and go up the parents, have a good day everyone Smile, will let you know how the dentist with DD2 went ! Fingers crossed the saccharine aka Valium works its magic Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 11:15

Thanks for the hugs Mrs. 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 11:20

I always just ask people what they want for their birthday. DS1's very easy, a Lego eGift card! I created a monster when I bought him his first set of Duplo! I must remember to do that after I've bought DS2's presents. 4 birthdays in August and September!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 20:14

Went to Sainsbury's to spend DS2's £16: £10 from Granny, £5 pocket money and £1 from the tooth fairy, dropped him off at Adventure, picked him up at 5, had pulled pork burritos for supper, he's in bed now. 😋😴

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 20:28

I'm in bed now. 😴

Mrsmadevans · 02/08/2018 20:36

Evening all Smile
Well the dentist visit was a washout, we got there they did another xray and said the roots were too hooked and embedded in the bone to do at the clinic there , she needs sedation maybe need to be put out to do it Shockand that she will have to go on a 6 months waiting list to have it done at the hospital. So that was an anticlimax! Hmm
Never mind she is out of pain now at least and we shall just have to wait to get it done, in the meantime she is looking after these teeth like they are precious jewels Grin.
We picked up DH sandals while there and bought a few bits and bobs , l couldn't resist these cushions , 1.50 each just gorgeous!!
direct.asda.com/george/home-garden/cushions/pelican-print-cushion/050291798,default,pd.html
I have had my eye on these for what seems like forever they just had my name on them Grin
Hope all had a good day enjoy the rest of your evening everyone Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/08/2018 20:47

They're great Mrs! 😊Your poor DD having to wait 6 months! 😭

Mrsmadevans · 02/08/2018 21:36

Ahh thank you PSB l hoped you here would see the beauty of them lol, DD2 will be ok , there is nothing else we can do but wait, so be it Smile at least she is on the list Smile

CrazyBaubles · 02/08/2018 22:13

I had a similar experience today Mrs. Had an appointment in a hospital to have a cyst removed only to be told the rules have changed slightly and that after an examination, it is too deep and will need to be done somewhere else, in theatre and GA may be needed! So day off work wasted. Dr was as bemused as me and apologised a lot but Hmm at the logic of getting me there just to say he can't do it.

Have spent today not doing much, just boring Home admin - mainly arguing with companies to get an acceptable home insurance price. Will be going to bed soon - doing very little has tired me out!

Mrsmadevans · 02/08/2018 23:05

Crazy. l totally get the exhaustion from doing nothing but l think it was the adrenaline rush ready for the procedure, only for there to be no natural outlet for it in the end!
I am so sorry yours ended up in the same way it really sucks!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2018 05:50

Morning. My body is cruel today, PSB. Day off and awake at usual time.

Adrenaline has a lot to answer for, doesn't it?

Annoying for both your DD, Mrs and you, CB. And then someone else could've been seen instead too, which makes it doubly wasteful.

More allotment-ing today. But a trip to the woods / beach first. 😁

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/08/2018 08:36

Morning! That's rubbish for you Crazy. Flowers

My dad's had a heart-bypass cancelled twice, I'm thinking that can't be good for his heart. 😭 I've stopped getting my hopes up when he says he's got a date now.
