I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

Morning! DD has just woken us up; she's excited about the holiday I think! She's in with us for now, but we will get up once DS joins us. Which he is now!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 21/07/2018 07:11

Morning! DS2's awake and playing Minecraft, I'm about to get up and do a wash, we'll go to Sainsbury's for breakfast later. 😋🍳

FireflyGirl · 21/07/2018 07:39

Morning. DS has shouted out a couple of times that he's hungry, because he has hollow legs but isn't actually awake yet so I'm chilling before it's time to get up.

Enjoy your holiday, Fluffy.

And, er, enjoy Sainsburys PSB? HmmGrin Supermarket shopping on a Saturday is something I avoid at all costs!

ILoveGroot · 21/07/2018 08:00

First day of the holidays here, my DS is looking forward to some chill out time.

I've brought some books from The Works for his book advent calender and some bits in the Hawkins Bazaar sale. I am aiming to not buy as much this year, so going to keep a spreadsheet of what I've spent.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2018 10:04

We've just set off and are heading your way, Firefly! I believe your weather is better than ours, as it rained all night. The garden needs it though, so can't really moan!

I'm almost done with Christmas shopping. I need to make DD decide she wants Sylvanian Families. I'm sure it's possible. Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 21/07/2018 11:04

Yeah, no rain here just sunny spells. I need to get the watering can out and water my veggies, they're really suffering!

Could you find the Sylvanian Families adverts on YouTube. Ooh, DD, they look fun don't they? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2018 13:13

That's my plan, Firefly! 😂😂

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2018 17:39

Ooh. I've found somewhere which posts a SF catalogue to you. I've asked for one and will leave it hanging around for her to see!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 21/07/2018 19:05

Firefly we enjoy our breakfast, and I have to shop every day, we only have a tiny fridge freezer. I bought enough to last until lunchtime tomorrow. Also, we don't have a car, so I wouldn't be able to bring any more home.

The DC had bitesize breakfasts, I had a sausage baguette, they had chicken and mushroom Pukka pies for lunch, spaghetti bolognese with garlic pizza bread for supper, DS2 is going to bed now. 😋🍳🍗🍄🍝😴

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2018 20:33

You need a wheelie trolley, PSB. You can carry more then (for when you need a sack of spuds and a massive bag of pasta, plus loads of veg / tins at the same time.

Mine is ftom IKEA, and has served me very well over about 8 or so years!

Like this one but mine is a different design.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 21/07/2018 20:44

That would be very useful Fluffy, but we'd need a bigger kitchen to put a bigger fridge freezer in. DH constantly complains that the freezer's too full, but it's usually only frozen veg, plus meat he buys in the market, plus ice creams and lollies, plus his beers, plus chips, plus ice packs for the DC's lunch bags.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2018 21:02

Pasta, potatoes and tins don't go in the fridge though. But can be bought in bulk / are heavy if bought together.

Warm beer for DH then PSB Xmas Grin

I'm looking on eBay for advent gift boxes or bags, my DD (16) loved her Advent Beauty Calender last Christmas . I bought little beauty gifts , between £2-£5 , some travel sizes , gift sets split up, bathbombs .
Each one left by her bed for her at night .

She's asked for the same this year (I've created a Monster)

And she uses Cruelty Free and likes high end brands .

FireflyGirl · 22/07/2018 01:17

Damnit 70, I thought I would have it tonight! Grin

I'm up past bedtime for the first time in weeks, drinking and boogying to 90s Britpop Grin Spice Girls, Steps, Aqua... My knees are killing me HmmGrin

With my friends, btw, not by myself in my living room!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2018 07:18

Do you need 24 bags / boxes, 70? That's quite an epic Advent calendar!

Firefly, go you! I hope you get a lie in today!

(Aren't Aqua Belgian or Dutch though?!)

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 22/07/2018 08:29

Morning! True Fluffy.

70 definitely!

The DC are playing in their room, I'm lying on my bed, not in bed as I'm dressed, drinking coffee out of my Precious, my MN mug. Brew

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 22/07/2018 08:30

I just had to type in [ brew ] because my MN emojis aren't working. 😭

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/07/2018 09:37

Oh yes Fluffy it is epic Xmas Grin
Last year I bought some Lakeland cellophane bags , the tall clear ones for chocolates or cookies type, some ribbon and a set of stickers 1-24.

She had face packs, Bodyshop bath bombs, the Cowshed 5 piece gift set split up (they were 20ml or something) small make-up like clear mascara for brows.
All under £5. And all things she used .
Her make-up choices are Urban Decay , Tarte and KatVonD which are ££, so not for her Advent.

We'd been looking at the M&S Advent but you need to spend X to buy it for £35 , and most of it we wouldn't use.

So when she said "Oh I really liked getting all the little presents can you do that again next year" , I was --grrrrrrrrrr- Oh yes of course dear

My DS doesn't do Christmas , so she's my Right Hand , I have to keep her sweet . Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/07/2018 09:40

Aqua - "Cartoon Heroes" reminds me of Butlins when the DC were young , the Stage shows sung it

Mrsmadevans · 22/07/2018 09:46

Morning all Smile
Just off up the parents , had yesterday off and went shopio , bought Y fronts for DH yes you heard right the first time Y fronts and 3 lippys for mum and some food from Lidl's .
Have had my attention on the Brexit thread re the need for hoarding foodstuffs in case ! Don't look it will start you off Grin l think we may be predisposed toward it as a group lol Grin DON'T GO THERE!! Grin
Hope everyone has a great day Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2018 10:05

I'm not sure I'm going to be hoarding food, Mrs. I shall see what the government advice is nearer the time, I think!

But, I'm not going into politics on this thread!

I bought underwear for DH in the M&S sale, so that's that base covered for Christmas!

lostlalaloopsy · 22/07/2018 10:27

Hi fellow Christmasers!! Is it ok if I join in? I love Christmas, best time of the year!! I didn't do much planning last year due to various factors and really missed it all!! We have been extending our house, the kitchen/family room is now complete - so been working out what decorations it will need! It also means I will have space to invite the whole family over for Christmas, I have already invited them 🙈🙈my DH thinks I'm mad!!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2018 10:38

Hi Loopsy! Welcome! Xmas Grin

Quite a few of us have managed to convert our DHs into also being Christmas preppers, so maybe there's time for yours yet!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 22/07/2018 10:50

Brew Now they're working! Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 22/07/2018 10:53

DS2 actually moaned the other day because there was a Christmas episode of Shopkins on! He can't be mine! Shock
