I believe it's day 190

HOW did we get past the 200 mark so fast? And only 12 Days until Christmas in July starts, for anyone who celebrates that.

Ahhh Constant l am so very sorry to hear this news from you. Try to be ever so kind to yourself my dear, you have been through hell and back. Come here and we will all support you , l find it a great support from everyone here even if l just get things off my chest , hugs galore FlowersFlowers

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/07/2018 20:03

Oh Constantly what a hard couple of years - my sympathies to you. Thanks My DDad has been gone for 25+ years but it is hard seeing my DMum fade away visit by visit.

MrsMad it's her 4th 😂. We are still so very proud but we know what to expect now. Any excuse for posh frocks and cocktails though 🍹

Mrsmadevans · 11/07/2018 20:10

Woolly !! That is such an achievement well done to DD and well done you for supporting her through it all. Our DD1 is on her second one and finding this one very tough, it's midwifery and the hols and breaks are very meagre 7 weeks and that is all. She also had to work on the wards and study do assignments at the same time . Totally exhausting . I don't know if l could do the academic work now tbh .

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/07/2018 21:14

I've already said this on the Gareth thread Woolly, but your DS looks very suave.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/07/2018 21:19

And congratulations to your DD! 🎓

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/07/2018 21:27

Went to the school's open afternoon, DS2 took me on a tour of the school, I had a lovely chat with DD's teacher, then DS2, DD and I coloured in hands for an artwork by the whole school and all the parents, they went to Adventure, I had shepherd's pie for supper, picked the DC up at 6, DS2 was in bed by 8, DD will go at 9.45. 😋😴

Morning! I'm just pootling round the kitchen and garden a bit as I have the luxury of time this morning! I'm on the late shift so going in an hour later than normal meaning I'm not doing the blue-bottomed buzzy thing impression right now!

I'm going to go on the cross trainer for the first time this week shortly as it's cooler today so shouldn't be as hard work. I've been tired this week too and simply couldn't face it, which isn't like me, but never mind!

I'm starting on next week's tasks today, see what I can get through! I've already done all of the Court tasks due while I'm away, which is something! No being struck out for me, ha ha!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 06:14

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC breakfast news, Carol the weather's wearing a pretty dress this morning. Brew

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 06:16

I tend to be like that Fluffy, organised a couple of days before I need to be. It bugs me until it's done. I couldn't do your job though, my memory's way too bad for that! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 12/07/2018 07:32

That's why I have a detailed task list to work from! And my memory for my files is brilliant. Day to day stuff? Dire! (I travelled without a train ticket yesterday as I forgot that my monthly pass ran out on Tuesday! Blush ).

Although I do recall conversations and banal things from decades ago. Handy! Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 10:30

My mum tells me my memory could be the perimenopause. Thanks mum. Hmm

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 10:32

I've just had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. 😋🐟

BiddyPop · 12/07/2018 12:30

Lovely start this morning, much cooler and fresher (but still no sign of rain - boo!).

Working through my "to do" list at work (I am getting better at passing things to others to do! - properly management delegating I mean Grin) and my personal list as well (home, scouts, school committee, sailing & holiday stuff, wider family stuff...). Trouble is, every time I tick off 1 item, usually 2 or more get added back on at the bottom. But it does feel better to see things getting ticked off.

I am on catchup today though, as the head instructor called me yesterday early afternoon - DD had been stung by jellyfish all down both legs and needed her mum. She was fine - sore, but ok - and they had dealt with it well, but I was glad I'd gone as, although she would have stayed on until later, she was actually happy to go home (although she missed going up to collect her Regatta prize of a water bottle for "the best jellyfish sting of the day"!). She was a combination of mortified, and slightly liking being centre of attention, at the disco later about it - but has gone back today for regular sailing.

Just keeping on top of housework this week in the evenings, no time for bigger projects. I'm planning LOADS for when DD is on scout camp in 2 weeks!

It was spitting on my way to the station. For about 2 minutes. Not really rain, however!

You do sound exceptionally busy, Biddy. I couldn't be bothered to do half as much as you do!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 18:29

Picked the DC up, had pulled pork burritos for supper, DS2 will go to bed at 7. 😋😴

FireflyGirl · 12/07/2018 20:07

Evening. I went on a jewellery making course today, and I really wanted to make some Christmassy earrings but they looked at me like I was nuts. I'll have to book on another course at the end of the year!

Do you have an actual'list', Biddy? I love the sense of accomplishment I feel when I can cross things off Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2018 20:28

Hello y'all.

I do NOT want rain, I have several batches of baby caterpillars and they'll all get drownded Xmas Sad

The lawn, OTOH , could do with some respite from the guinea-pigs (fur coated locust-eque guzzling beasts that they are) !

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/07/2018 20:29

DD will go to bed at 9.20. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 12/07/2018 22:31

Proper rain! ☔️☔️☔️ Only 10 minutes, but yay!

Happy Friday the 13th

Stay safe Mwah HaHa Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 13/07/2018 07:05

DS was born on Friday the 13th. Funnily enough, we mostly had the maternity Ward to ourselves... Grin

No rain here, just overcast. Yesterday was actually a bit chilly - I had to put my cardigan on for 10 mins ShockWink

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/07/2018 08:41

Morning! DS2's all ready for Legoland! 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/07/2018 08:46

The DC have been wearing their jumpers in the mornings, when I went to their open afternoon on Wednesday, DD was still wearing hers in about 31° heat! Confused

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2018 09:19

It chucked it down all night in the end. It's cooler today too, thankfully. DD's taken her cardigan for the first time in weeks. And her raincoat.

Time to clean the kitchen now as DH didn't have time yesterday (and I like to do it every now and then as I'm more thorough!).

ConstantlyCooking · 13/07/2018 09:44

Hopefully last full day in work today before summer holidays begin and I can really make a start on Christmas prep and trying to make the house presentable! We are having work done on fencing in the garden and it has shown how much the house needs some tlc.
