😂 Please buy her a cuddly bunny taller than her Holy! My mum bought DS1 one for his first Christmas, plus a big mound of presents! He was 3 months old! He hadn't actually had any toys before that, we were very poor, people had bought him lots of clothes and equipment, but nobody thought to buy him toys. I think he was a bit overwhelmed.

SundayLunchHappy · 11/06/2018 21:44

Yep! My ds squealed his way into the world in March. So excited for the my first Christmas stuff! Have a penchant for vintage so bring on the red and green gingham rompers he will never forgive me for making him wear in years to come Grin

Really want jam now!

M&S gave me a random 20% women’s wear voucher when I bought dh a belt today, dunno if that’s a “thing” now, but worth looking out for.

HolyShmoly · 11/06/2018 22:13

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks dear lord no!

Sunday oh my god yes. I'm already imagining tartan skirts...

Mrsmadevans · 11/06/2018 22:45

Thank you for the goodwill wishes for my Dad l am so thankful for the support you show us here, it really helps Flowers.
Woolly l hope your Mum is continuing to do well , thank you about my Dad, it is not easy to deal with along with everything else in life Flowers
Fluffy thank you m'dear the Consultant is just wonderful , Dad loves her and she is so kind and so courteous and respectful. He has a terrible bruise on his forehead where he fell and she stroked his head and said ' Don't worry it hasn't ruined your good looks ' . I was blown away by her doing that, such a small thing but my Dad thought the world of her doing that Bless him , he was almost crowing Grin.
Thank God we have 2 thread babies , well done Sunday and Holy , it will take the pressure off the others here not me far too old . Believe me there has been a bit of begging on bended knee almost Grin
Fluffy, your jam is spectacular Flowers where did she get the energy from after working in the cupboard all day and more to the point who drew the short straw and had to scrub the jam pan Grin
Perfect, l don't know what they are like so l can't really comment except to say she is not what l thought a psychologist was iyswim!
Right better go to bed poor Hubbs has been badly bitten by insects on his leg. l gave him 1 certrazine because of the itching and he has been semi conscious since Grin

Night all Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/06/2018 06:20

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC breakfast news and Carol the weather in the Cotswolds. 😋Brew

I think psychotherapists do do that Mrs, but mine did my autism assessment, so it's all around that. I've been told that I can stop going at any time. I probably will, because it's 3 hours out of my life.

Morning!

Your dad's consultant sounds amazing, Mrs. Properly lovely!

And it took longer to pick the strawberries than it did to make the jam as it was a speedy recipe! I can tell you that I'm not the one on pan detail! 😂😂 DH did pour boiling water over it last night though, so it won't be too bad.

We're almost on chilli jam season. Probably a week or so before we have enough chillies for our first batch! It's exciting. I have to find people to palm it all off onto as we can't get through it all.

I'll do blackberry jam in August / Sept. I made it with a small amount of apple last year and it was really nice, so I'll do that again this year, I think.

It's another lovely day here, though the weather is going to break soon, I think. Everything needs water, so the rain will be appreciated.

Mrsmadevans · 12/06/2018 08:26

Morning all Smile
Perfect you do what you want to do re the Psychotherapist m'dear. l mean, you have got to this far in life without being diagnosed and what are they hoping you will get from it? Carol the weather is looking very biker chick again this morn in the Cotswolds, she is such a stalwart of the news, l hope they pay her well Grin, Bourton on the water looks as pretty as a picture . I must visit there again soon.
Fluffy , Dad's consultant is amazing , l have never seen a Consultant behave like her before , one in a million. SmileI don't blame you re the jam pan urgggh. Must look at this speedy jam recipe , does it keep the same l wonder. No reason why it shouldn't , course it is prob how the contestants on GBBO make jam , l always thought what a palavar for a cake competition Grin l bet they didn't do their jam pans Grin.
It is gorgeous here again today but Carol the weather has put the kibosh on Thursday for us here in South Wales anyway Hmm , got a friend calling for a cuppa this morning then up to parents to sort them out , they were bickering yesterday, all the time but l know it was because they were anxious over Dad's hosp appt, hopefully they are happier today Grin Hmm
I have gone on ...ignore me , have a great day everyone Smile

Redgreencoverplant · 12/06/2018 08:34

We have two babies?!!!! What else have I missed? Have NC but was once a bit of an addict to children's TV Grin

I have been focused on enjoying summer but we have had our main holiday now and as there are only six months to go I should probably start getting in gear! I have decided what I want for Christmas which is www.cultpens.com/i/q/VS21187/visconti-van-gogh-fountain-pen-starry-night

Redgreencoverplant · 12/06/2018 09:49

Beautiful Mrs but I think DH would have a heart attack at the price Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/06/2018 09:53

Red that it gorgeous and you have just reminded me of the beautiful fountain pen that my parents bought me for my 18th birthday. I didn't have it for very long as it was nicked out of my school bag on the day of my last ALevel.

I've just found a similar one on eBay and I'm bidding on it. It is listed as VINTAGE - how very dare they Shock I'm still 18 in my head

Redgreencoverplant · 12/06/2018 09:54

Clearly put in eBay by some 12 year old Woolly who thinks 18 year olds are ancient Grin

Churrolicious · 12/06/2018 15:41

Hello, hope you don’t mind me sticking my head in but I’ve just had a lot of luck with Hamilton tickets and thought it’d be handy for anyone with DC of the teenage sort.

They’ve just released tickets for Hamilton into 2019 (up to March I think). Lots of £39.50 tickets but also found a fair few sets of £20 box seats (called Grand Circle Slips on the diagram). They’re apparently restricted view, but worth a punt potentially - I’ve not been (yet - got my tickets, very excited!), but apparently they’re not too bad, and they’re a tenth of the price of the top price seats - no booking fees or anything either, so you could get up to four in a row for £80.

www.ticketmaster.co.uk/hamilton - just watch out, when you collect tickets you need the card you booked on, and the person whose card it is has to be one of the people going into the show apparently.

Hope this helps someone!

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/06/2018 17:56

Thanks for that Churro. DD1 has been wanting to see Hamilton since it opened and I've just got her tickets. Technically she bought the tickets and I transferred her the money but you know what I mean Grin

Morning!

Great tip, Churro. So glad your DD1 got sorted, Woolly!

I was up what felt like half the bloody night coughing. Knackered now, so didn't do the cross trainer this morning (my glands are up too, though I'm sure it's just hayfever still). So, I'm on the way to work instead.

I'm leaving early today as we have a meeting at school telling us when DS is starting. We know his teacher already (who is great, apparently!) so we just need the date now.

Giggage · 13/06/2018 06:21

Is anyone else still watching Christmas films or is it just me?

Mrsmadevans · 13/06/2018 07:21

Mrsmadevans · 13/06/2018 07:23

Flowers for Fluffy hope you are feeling better today m'dear Smile

BiddyPop · 13/06/2018 10:03

OK, DD definitely knows about the Man in Red. She was trying to, in earshot of each other, offset both DH and I about who bought a pair of sailing boots (good ones) that she has and then announcing that S had brought them, so "hmmm, which one of you is S?!" - as only a sarcastic 12 year old who is flooded with hormones can.....

I'd happily admit it, but DH wanted to keep it going for 1 more year (she goes into secondary school in 2 months!). So I am not confirming or denying, as all good spies might say, at this point. Her way to test the theory? Ask for another Xbox or similar!

Meanwhile, the house is relatively calm this morning, considering DD is in school (she's missing a good bit this week for sailing training - they're doing nothing and she's going to World championships in the summer so we're allowing her do 2 of the 4 day training camp), DH is out doing interviews tonight after work, DM is in court all day (watching, she's not being called, but it does involve an organization she's involved with) and DF is coming tonight to stay (supporting DM today and he has meetings locally here tomorrow as well). And I am in Parliament most of the afternoon - eek. I think my DPs will both head home tomorrow. But there's no point in having chaos before we all get started - everyone will do much better on their own particular issues if it is a quiet start.

So I am taking 10 minutes to check in here before I face the changes to the speeches, and writing another presentation that's needed early next week, and a legal letter needed yesterday (all work stuff). Redrafting a newsletter for parents, and doing the minutes of the last meeting and agenda for next Monday for another Committee. And sorting the 15 different queries I got from Cub parents about next weekend's camp and other admin stuff (I may well get a lot of that prep done this weekend when DH is away with DD at a sailing event - I can't go as I have Cubs and it's too far away to easily pop up after Cubs).

Can I get a cloning machine as my Christmas present please?!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2018 13:22

You're always so busy, Biddy!

I've still got swollen glands and feel ropey. The coughing has mostly stopped though, thank god!

I hope everyone is having a good day.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/06/2018 13:39

Hi! Sorry, I've been distracted playing Dream Hospital! Blush

Had a ham and tomato omelette and a banana today, bus trip to pay my cheque from McDonald's in, had creamy peppercorn chicken with sautéed potatoes for lunch. 😋🍅💷😋🍗

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/06/2018 13:46

Ooh, exciting Fluffy. He'll have a ball when he starts! 😆 I can't believe I'm looking at secondary schools for DD already! Shock

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/06/2018 13:47

Yes, I did like Carol's dress this morning Mrs! 😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 13/06/2018 13:52

DD kept pretending she still believed for 2 more years, until she was 10! She thought she wouldn't get as many presents if she confessed! Now she gets to be Father Christmas, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny until DS2 stops believing. 😆
