Have you had DSs rash checked out Fluffy?

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2018 20:50

I love Countryfile, but didn't see it. I've been deep cleaning the house (windows, woodwork, doors etc), including moving as much furniture as possible, and grovelling on the floor to get to bits under beds etc that I couldn't move. Bit bloody warm for all that malarkey, mind you (I did it in 3 stints, and still need to finish some another day). You can tell it's been done though, thankfully.

I was busy in the garden too this afternoon (before the cleaning). I got the wires up for the raspberries to grow up, plus built a frame for my cucumber plants to be draped over as the weight of the cucumbers can make them awkward. I saw a photo of cucumbers hanging from a frame in a greenhouse online and decided to replicate it! I also did a few other bits and bobs. I'm a bit knackered now!

Thank you for your kind words, Mrs. It's bloody hard being a parent. I try not to be too hard on the kids, but they also need to understand behaviour boundaries! They do love to press the buttons though, whoever said that last night was so right!

Sounds like you had a nice day, Mrs. 😊

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2018 20:52

Slapped cheek has gone round DD's school, Giggage. DD and all her friends had it; it's DS' turn now. His cheeks have calmed but he's still got a bit of the body rash. I think he'll be OK in a day or so.

WreckTangled · 10/06/2018 20:53

My dc were actually good today but having a good day still includes strips and screaming from ds! It's hard work but worth it. Also if you weren't a good parent you wouldn't be worrying about being one if you see what I mean?!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2018 20:57

I do, Wreck! 😁

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/06/2018 21:09

DS2 will go to bed at 9.30. 😴

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/06/2018 23:01

DD is going to bed now. 😴

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 06:12

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC breakfast news. 😋Brew

Morning!

Slightly cloudy to start here, but still bright and warm. We've been spoilt for the last month with the weather!

Off to work; see what carnage arose on Friday, ha ha! I tend to spend the first hour or so on Monday catching up with Friday's emails and post, then crack on with Monday's stuff. From this week I shouldn't have much in the diary for Friday as, in theory, it should all have been allocated to a different day by now.

Mrsmadevans · 11/06/2018 08:21

Morning all Smile
It is beautiful here this morning, we are going for a walk and then taking Dad to see the Consultant Haemotologist re his blood disorder , he is much better thank Goodness Smile.
We bought him a sunflower bird feeder/water bowl for his birthday as well , he loved it !! My Dad is so hard to please and l thought it was worth a mention for those of us who have the elderly present problem Grin
Fluffy , you work so hard , you are giving your DC such a wonderful family life, they will be just fine, it is so normal for the DC to play up on times. They need to know the boundaries though and you sound like you are doing a great job my dear Flowers
Perfect, am not keen on Carol the weather dress this morning , does nothing for me .
Have a great day everyone Smile

SundayLunchHappy · 11/06/2018 09:15

Hi!

Hope I can jump on here, masses of catching up to do. LOVED being on 2017 countdown and so far this year I’ve become a parent Grin!

Last year we planned to do a London day trip but in my heavily pregnant state it just didn’t pan out, hoping I can do it with an 8mo ds instead.

Been good so far, £50 in the Christmas tin religiously each month since the December pay packet to give us a festive nest egg. To say I’m excited is an understatement.... (as we now have a pram in the front room there is talk of sacrificing an armchair for the duration to make sure we can still have a big tree). 🎅

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 14:15

No, I wasn't keen on Carol's dress either this morning Mrs.

Dropped the DC off, went to my psychotherapist, had a ham and mustard sandwich and a bottle of orange juice for breakfast on the bus, back to Sainsbury's, had a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries and salad, a banana and a large caramel latte. 😋🍊🍔🍟🍌☕

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 14:20

Mrs my dad appreciates a good bottle of wine, but he's too much of a connoisseur to dare to buy for, so I usually give him a wine voucher. My 21st birthday present from him was fantastic, he'd lain down a bottle when I was born, and gave it to me on my birthday. We enjoyed it together. 🍷🍷

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 14:24

Hi Sunday! You have to get your DS the obligatory "My First Christmas" t-shirt, it's the law! 😂🎅 Mine were all much younger than that for their first ones, DD1 was less than a month! Shock

Mrsmadevans · 11/06/2018 16:39

Afternoon all Smile
Welcome Sunday Smile
Perfect, l would love a psychotherapist to analyse me and my family and to help me cope with the stress of looking after the Elderly Parents Grin.
Your Dad sounds amazing to do that for you , well done Perfect Dad!
Just bought Dad back from the Consultant , they are going to keep a closer eye on him because of him being so ill lately , we are all happy about that because he has worried us so much. Dad was ok about it all , he is so much better, it is such a relief even if it is just temporary, we will take it.

Hope all had a great day, am just going to have a naice cuppa and a relax, been on the go all day with the parents Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2018 17:47

It's good your dad is getting the right treatment from his consultant, Mrs. It's nice when they show they actually care about the patient's wellbeing.

Hi Sunday! I remember the excitement of DD's first Christmas (she was 6 months' old). The year after we also had 5 month old DS as well! It makes it all so much more special when you add your own children into the Christmas mix!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 17:59

Unfortunately Mrs, she's doing less of that and more helping me to decide whether to tell people "oh, by the way I'm autistic", or just not say anything, also teaching me how to do the things that are expected of me in society. To pretend to be normal. 😂

Yes, that was lovely of my dad. 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 18:11

Picked the DC up, had lamb rogan josh, DS2 will go to bed at 6.30. 😋😴

WreckTangled · 11/06/2018 18:54

I'm looking at advent calendars. I want to get dd a stationery one and I think tinc will be best so I'll have to wait as none from last year on sale. Am watching the hot wheels one for ds on camelcamelcamel

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/06/2018 20:00

DD will go to bed at 8.30. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2018 20:42

Our two were in bed and asleep by about 7.20, so we went into the garden. I picked a load of strawberries and made jam. Freshest jam you'll ever find!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2018 20:52

Jam! 🍓🍓🍓

I heard a conversation on the radio the other day talking about the predictions for this Christmas and I thought of you all.
Currently 3 billion days overdue so this will be a very different Christmas for our wee family and I can't wait to get planning, but it seems very far away still for me.

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/06/2018 21:14

Does that mean there are two thread babies? Holy and Sunday.

Trying to catch up with everyone's news.

Your jam looks great Fluffy

MrsMad glad to hear your DDad is getting some consultant attention. Hopefully he'll be on the mend soon. My mum is pretty much the same age (almost to the day) and is thankfully on the mend too

HolyShmoly · 11/06/2018 21:21

Yep! It looks like Sunday's is already here and will have a few months on my bub. So lots of 'my first Christmas' squishiness.

Can I please request that you all stage an intervention if I start going overboard? At the moment I'm planning on us making some bits and buying some bits but generally keeping it low-key as she won't have a notion. Shiny helium balloons may feature.
