Pencil me in Grin

I know I probably sound mad and gross and cringe, but I have never been so happy. Blush

Grin hairspray

We've had a lovely bbq at the park and paddle in the river. Very muddy clothes straight in the machine!

Evening all Smile
I have been reading our posts and think we are the most lovely of ppl on here for defo...
Anyway great news , took Dad to the Gp and he told us Dad has had a rip roaring infection. They can now tell us this from the bloods they did nearly 2 weeks ago. So that terrible virus he had, that he gave to DH =me= DD1.... WAS the culprit. He is much better thank Goodness , taking interest in the ppl passing the house, nosing out of the window! Grin He has an attack of gout atm and he had his fall on Sat but the wound is fine, Dr was quite happy with it . He has steroids to take care of the gout and all is well atm till ......l won't say it. Grin
So everyone some good news at last !
Have a great evening all thank you for the support l really appreciate it Smile Flowers you are darlings MWAH!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 04/06/2018 19:38

Your poor dad Mrs. I'm glad he's much better. 😊

DD's trip to Butlins is in a fortnight! My aunt's bringing a packed wheelie case the day before, I just have to buy things she has to carry in a small backpack for the coach. I think I've got everything! 😆

Picked the DC up, had chicken korma for supper, DS2 was in bed by 7, DD will go to bed at 8.30. 😋🍗😴

Have put a wash on and laid uniforms and DD's PE kit out for tomorrow, have put DS2's PE kit in his bag. 😆

FireflyGirl · 04/06/2018 19:45

I leave for 5 minutes and you're all talking babies and weddings!! Grin

I'd been thinking about trying for DC2 after the summer, but went for a career change instead. Marginally fewer sleepless nights, I think!

Funny you should mention being a coroner, Fluffy. I actually shadowed our local one when I was off on maternity leave. It was really interesting, and something I was considering as well! A lot of the places I interviewed for were really interested in my advocacy experience - I assumed most solicitors did their own advocacy because I always have, but apparently not! I was purely claimant based, and needed to get out while the getting was good.

Your poor Dad has been in the wars, MrsM!

Sounds like a wonderful day, Wreck.

I have to skip over your posts, PSB, they just make me hungry even if I've just had tea... Grin

Hello and welcome to newbies!

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2018 20:26

I do my own advocacy in general, unless it's in-person bloody miles away! Or it's such a cock up that you want someone with more experience behind them! 😂

Good to hear that you've looked at being a Coroner too. I think it'd suit me a bit more than what I do now.

Mrs, I hope your dad is properly on the mend now. Poor thing has been through the wringer. 😢

Giggage · 04/06/2018 20:36

Evening all.

I've been rather busy today and have not had much time to continue with the baubles I'm making.

I have though, found my old family recipient for mincemeat so I can add that to the list of Christmas preparations.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2018 20:40

What type of baubles are you making Giggage? I've got all the kit to needle felt some - I've started one and plan on really cracking on with them in September once the new school year starts.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2018 20:50

Giggage, would you share your mincemeat recipe at all? I made some last year and still have some left, but want to make some this year as I figure that by next year it'll taste amazing!

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/06/2018 00:32

203

I must go to bed. Back to school and work tomorrow after over two weeks off (for me) and I'm just not tired - but I will be exhausted when the alarm goes off.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 05/06/2018 04:04

Woke up, went to check the time, realised my phone was off the charger, which has woken me up properly. 😭😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

NoWordForFluffy · 05/06/2018 06:50

I was asleep by 9.30 last night. It was lovely!

I've established that I'm not actually ill, but suffering severe (for me) hayfever! Unusual for me, but not good. I'm doubling up on antihistamines which seems to be alleviating it somewhat.

DS is back to preschool today, but DD is back to school tomorrow. He's gutted! 😂

Still nice weather up here. ☀️☀️☀️ It's not been grim up north at all really!

Mrsmadevans · 05/06/2018 07:45

Morning all Smile
Perfect, Hope your DD enjoys Butlins, Carol the weather very pretty in her frock this morning Grin
Woolly have a good day back today , hope you are not too exhausted , have plenty of Brew Smile
Gig , am very impressed re the bauble making, my DDS used to do this with their lovely DGM , ahhh brings memories back Smile
Fluffy , hope you feel a hellova lot better , hayfever is so tiresome !
Must thank you again for the support re Dad, l really appreciate it Flowers
Am off to Talybont reservoir today for a walk, it is so beautiful there .
Have a lovely day everyone Smile

HairsprayBabe · 05/06/2018 08:51

Morning all,
I am in Worcester this morning, have set up a carshare with work so I get to get into the office at least twice a week.

Grey and cold today but everything is lovely and green.

MrsM Glad your dad is doing better

Speaking of fathers mines birthday is this weekend, annoyingly just before fathers day - gift suggestions for the man who has everything and wants nothing? He is a no-nonsense Yorkshire man who will be 54, he likes whiskey, wood turning and rugby, we only do token gifts for birthdays/fathers day so no more than £20.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/06/2018 08:58

I'm no help I'm afraid Hairspray. My DC have the same problem buying for DH. He's only a couple of years younger than your dad and likes films, sport and travel. DD1 is scouring Not On The Highstreet for something suitable but tbh they are buying for buying's sake.

Giggage · 05/06/2018 15:22

The baubles are nothing special, just polystyrene balls, sliver headed pin and sequins.

I'm currently making them for ds in blue and white stripes with the pin heads acting as silver dots.

I did something similar a couple of years ago with the bittty remains that you get at the bottom of pot porri bags. Instead of whole flowers there were a lot of petals, I just pinned them carefully in place, I have to admit, it did look good, and smelled amazing!

the mincemeat recipe - I would love to share it, I really would but was made to swear that I wouldn't share it with anyone by my grandmother before she handed it over to me. She may be in her 90's now but she still scares me. Grin Even if she was no longer with us, I wouldn't put it past her to haunt me if I did share.

Hairspray - what about buying your dad some chisels? or a wood engraving/burning thingy?

I've got DP a box set of a series which he lost during one his house moves years ago for his kids to give to him. Maybe a box set would be ok for your DH WollyBacks Wife?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/06/2018 15:32

I had a couple of days off , its my birthday today (not a Big Birthday but fairly ancient Xmas Grin )
Went to the gym with DH yesterday , did some treadmill, bike, thigh muscle and I even ran a bit ......everything jiggles , thank gawd for the high impact sports bra. Gravity is not my friend here .
Nice sauna after though.

DC bought me a handbag ( I chose it, they gave Dh the money), ordered some earrings (not arrived yet) and my guinea-pig bought me a copy of WaterShip Down ( ok , DD got it for her , the guinea-pig wouldn't be seen dead buying a book about Rabbits Xmas Shock )

No Christmas Thread Baby for me (though Brigitte Neilson is only 2 years older and she's pg ).
I was looking at a rescue website , there's a gorgeous little piggie on there (we have 3 guineas) but I keep saying these ones are our last , so not even a Christmas Rodent Baby for me !

Happy Birthday to 70, Happy Birthday to 70

Mrsmadevans · 05/06/2018 18:07

Evening all Smile

Giggage , 'baubles are nothing special, just polystyrene balls, sliver headed pin and sequins' , these are the exact ones my DDS made with DMIL, ahhh l still put them on the tree too Smile.
Hairspray , what about a Wetherspoons gift voucher for your Dad?
My Dbil loves this author so we bought him his latest book , l don't know if your Dad reads at all
