TheWoollybacksWife · 02/06/2018 21:14

MrsMad my mum still calls my big brother "child" he's her PFB and he's 65. Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/06/2018 21:52

I call my PFB, who's 27, child, but usually in the context of "Begone, child!" as he's leaving! He responds with "I'm going, I'm going!" 😂

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2018 23:14

Ahh lovely to hear you talking like that both of you , they are everything to us aren't they Star

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2018 00:12

My eldest is 18yo and keeps telling me all the things he could do because "I'm an adult" now he says.

Usually things he has no bloody intention of actually doing though.

"I can leave home/get a tattoo/get my ears pierced/get a car loan/learn to drive/get married" .....I just say "Of course you can DS , you're An Adult"

He's off to Uni after A'Levels (but will still live at home) , nothing pierced or tattooed (as far as I know) , has the odd cider , gives blood and no plans to wed.

Though he's on half term , awake till 2am on the XBox, sleeping in till 10am.
When he was a baby , he never slept more than 2 hours, woke us at 5am. DH and I want to go into his room at 6am and wail at him Xmas Grin , that;ll learn him little bugger

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/06/2018 05:51

Do it Limit! 😂

Morning! Up at school time today and off to McDonald's for breakfast. 😆 Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. I'll get about 20 minutes of Carol the weather, then I'll get DS2 up and he'll want CITV. Hmm😋Brew

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2018 07:36

We have inset days this week so DS goes back on Tues and DD on Weds. They're left to sleep as long as they like all week as it's rare they get past 7.15. That's when they'd be woken if they miraculously stayed asleep! 😂

It's sunny again today. Woooo. Our hairdresser is coming round at 10, then we will just play in the house / garden. I'm still not well, so going out isn't going to happen!

WreckTangled · 03/06/2018 07:37

It's going to be another lovely day today Smile I've just got a second part time job in a toy shop to get some extra money and I was talking to the owner about Christmas. She loves it as much as us! It'll be so fun working there in the run up, if they need me. I already have a job in the nhs but it's term time so I offered I help out in the holidays when they're busy. It's got all the lovely traditional toys.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2018 07:43

Sounds lovely, Wreck!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/06/2018 08:17

In McDonald's, DS2 had a bacon roll meal, DD had a bacon roll, I had a bacon, egg and cheese bagel meal. 😋

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2018 09:04

Morning all Grin
DD1 is safely ensconsed in the flat hovel so that is a relief .
70 your DS sounds lovely , the up till 2 is very normal according to the experts , as you well know l expect.
Perfect , Carol the weather not on this morn , it is chipper little Matt l like him too though Grin. Enjoy your Maccy D's.
Wreck l am loving the sound of your toy shop , it sounds fab, hope you love it !
Am up the parents today , Dad fell last night he is ok but because his platelets are low it looks horrendous. This was such a shame because for the first time in over 2 months Dad took the car around the block yesterday.... nevermind just a little setback , going to the GP tomoz anyway so we will get him checked over. They can't find anything wrong with him when they examine him or do his bloods just the viral thing we think and we must take it very much a day at a time.
I bought goats double cream yesterday just out of idle curiosity and it was awful. Made me feel very queasy and has given me terrible cold like symptoms, l am thinking it doesn't agree with me, l was going to make something with it but l think l will be just throwing it out!
Right l better be off to the parents have a lovely day everyone Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/06/2018 09:48

Sounds like you have an intolerance to goat's milk Mrs 😭

Hope your dad's okay. Flowers

SideOrderofSprouts · 03/06/2018 10:01

Had gammon hock in cider sauce with mustard mash for lunch. 😋🍺

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2018 15:40

We are having an impromptu BBQ this afternoon! We had enough meat in the freezer so just had to do salads and buy rolls etc.

The weather is glorious again, so we decided to make the most of it. ☀️☀️☀️

FireflyGirl · 03/06/2018 17:36

We keep having thundery downpours, so I'm a bit jealous of your sunny weather, Fluffy! Although my veg garden is thriving!

I've been absent from this thread for a while. Had to leave my job quite suddenly, then got bogged down with job hunting, DS had the Pox and DH had the flu then collapsed at work because he went back too soon.

Now have a new job in a new area, so I'm finding my feet and life is a bit more settled. So, I'm back to thinking about Christmas Grin

MrsM is your allergy lactose? I can't remember. That's what DS and DH is, and they struggle with goat too. That, and DH says it just tastes like goat. I refrained from asking him the last time he licked a goat..

WreckTangled · 03/06/2018 17:38

Been really hot here today too 😎

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2018 17:41

Licked a goat! 😂😂😂

DD is lactose intolerant. DS is CMPI. We have the whole spectrum!

New area of law, Firefly? How many PQE are you? I think I should look to swap but wasn't sure how possible it was. Not with maintaining my salary, anyway!

Sounds like illness has been all over your house. Our DC have had / currently have a weird rash. It's either slapped cheek or scarier fever, we haven't quite worked it out.

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2018 18:09

Evening all Smile
I only had a lick of the goat (cream) and it left me feeling very odd Grin
I think l must have a bit of a thing intolerance with it yes....
Dad was ok , cleaned his wound and it is starting to scab over and heal so have left it to the open air. Bought them some prawn mayo sarnies and they lapped them up lol, it was good to see them enjoying their food.
Perfect l love gammon hock in cider sauce with mustard mash very yummy!
Sprout, soon be Summer hols yay!!
Fluffy enjoy the BBQ sounds lovely , hope the DC are ok , I like the sound of scarier fever Grin should be a Halloween illness lol !
Firefly congrats on the new job and l hope the DS & DH are all better, bless them. Am allergic to shellfish so l didn't even cut the prawn sarnies up lol l got the DD2 to do it . I know what your DH meant about licking a goat Grin he is right!
Have a lovely evening all, Smile my DD2 wants to watch BGT FINAL tonight urggghhh Hmm

SideOrderofSprouts · 03/06/2018 18:11

I can’t wait for the summer holidays. I love my job but 6 weeks off!!

Oops, autocorrect gone mad. Scarlet, clearly! 😂😂

I'm glad your dad is in the mend, Mrs.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/06/2018 19:23

Had pulled pork burritos for supper. DS2 will go to bed at 8. 😋😴

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/06/2018 19:30

DD will go at 8.30. 😴 DS2 went for a nap between 4.35 and 5.50, hence the later bedtime. 😆

FireflyGirl · 03/06/2018 20:06

Funny you should say about a weird rash, Fluffy. DS had a fever earlier in the week, no other symptoms and was fine in himself, then today he's got a rash all over his torso and up his neck. I was thinking scarlet fever too...

I'm 6 PQE, but was running my own files for 5 years before that.

I've gone from personal injury to civil litigation generally; everything from landlord/tenant to intellectual property. Small firm, so they're just letting me loose on the clients with Google then checking my advice afterwards Hmm but it's an opportunity, and I'm enjoying it. Although I'm waiting to hear back from another firm about a property role that I really fancied and would prefer. Both are 4 days and although my FTE salary is lower than pre-DS, there are better prospects long term so I'm looking at it as an investment in my career/ our future.

Glad to hear your parents are doing okay, MrsM.

Pulled pork burritos sound lovely PSB. DMIL did us a full roast dinner at 2pm, and I'm supposed to be dieting so we've got soup and homemade bread rolls (carrot and courgette, I'm trying to maximise our veg intake!) I'd still have a burrito, though...
