So nice to have Monday off as well this week. And with gorgeous weather! I'm going to be looking like I've had a foreign holiday by the time I'm back at work! ☀️😁

Morning! DS2's on WiFi, I'm in bed drinking coffee. 😋

It was a cracking one. But we went to the beach so it was all good

Forgot it was Monday so just had to run out to put the bins out!!

How is everyone today

I forgot to turn my alarm off 😭 bit annoying. Going to enjoy the last hot day before going back to work tomorrow and then the weather turning. Mil is coming round later. Dd needs to do homework too (pointless homework which I end up mainly doing ffs).

I thankfully remembered to turn my alarm off. And back on again! I've got a diary to remind myself to change it for next week's change I working hours on Friday!

DH had to run out at 6.30 to put our green bin out. I've been depositing the snails in there so it needed to be gone ( it's collected 3-weekly!).

Is it bad that I'm practically hiding from the glorious weather? I enjoy looking at it and it makes me feel more energetic BUT I actually hate being too hot, I get sunburnt and usually a migraine. I also hate the bugs and don't have a usable garden right now. My plan is to Potter around almost entirely indoors but with all the windows and back door wide open so ddogs can go in and out as much as they want.

I have been thinking about Christmas and am considering hosting a little pre-Christmas party in the first or second week of December. Me and DH are one of the only ones in our friendship group without children so we find it a bit hard as we have to celebrate a lot of it on our own (friends rightly want to spend as much of the season with their children as they can).
I'm hoping a relaxed party with some festive cocktails might be nice. What do you think?

Sprouts do dustmen work on a bank holiday?

Our dustbin men work on bank holidays, yes. Not all of them, but definitely the summer ones.

Handbag, I'd have the party from 8pm onwards as those with young kids can get them into bed and then come, if the babysitter would struggle to get them to bed / they prefer to have the kids asleep before going out. We'd definitely go to something like that!

Handbag sounds brilliant! Beginning of December is definitely the best time. Also no one says you have to love the sun

Had chocolate pancakes for breakfast, DM came, went to the Sainsbury's café for lunch, DS2 had oriental chicken noodles and a Magnum White, DD had cottage pie and peas and a Magnum Double Caramel, DM had a bigger halloumi breakfast and a Magnum Classic, I had hunter's chicken, chips and peas and a Magnum White, DM's just gone home. 😋🍫😋🍗🍜🍳🍗🍟

I've been out weeding today. The garden looks lovely! We've shifted the potatoes to a new spot as they're so bushy they were starting to block the light to the greenhouses! The herbs have now gone where the potatoes were as they're not so manic. Yet!

I've been shifting things all round the poly greenhouses today and potting the last peppers on / re-potting the sage. I also sowed 4 more rows of carrots yesterday (with 'help' from the kids!). We don't do well with carrots for some reason. I hope we get a better crop this year.

Our strawberry patch looks very promising. DS was spotting the ones which have already shed their petals and are on the way to bearing fruit. 🍓🍓🍓🍓 It's all very exciting out there right now!

I hope we get more consistent sunshine soon. Everything feels so much better when it's sunny!

DS2's in bed, DD will go at 9.20. 😴

I'm in bed! The dc have been asleep for a couple of hours. The sun is tiring 💤

Back to work tomorrow, looks like it'll cool down from Wednesday, so nice it lasted the whole bank holiday.

I'm in bed too! DS was conked out by 6.30 and DD wasn't much behind him! They've both been snotty this weekend, but I can't decide whether it's them sickening for something or hay fever. Time will tell, no doubt!

Uniforms out, PE kits either out or in bag depending on DC, I'm in bed now. 👔👕😴

Last week of working Fridays. Nice that it's a four day week too!

I struggled to sleep last night, but never mind; I'll survive! 😂

Well ds had a great time in Düsseldorf but needed to spend the entire of yesterday in his pants playing computer games to “re acclimatise” 😂😂😂😂😂
So my plan for the day is to walk the dogs before it gets too hot, weed the front gravel and sort out one of the garden sheds.. whichever looks the least spidery!!
