Evening everyone. Just back from work 😞am rather tired .. dream about wining lottery sounds like a plan.. I’d move to a little small holding with a lovely big fireplace and room for a mahoosive Christmas tree 🙂.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/04/2018 20:02

I've just been roaming round my garden (which I do in the evening once the kids are asleep!) to see what's grown since I last looked!

Our potatoes are sprouting well. I now have 5 dwarf bean seedlings poking through. All of my peppers, chillies and tomatoes are doing well too! Our sunflowers are a touch leggy, but maybe they'll sort themselves out soon enough!

Osopolar, how are your trees doing? The apple is just showing signs of life so it's just the plum which looks like a dead stick in a pot, as the rest are all sprouting well!

Fridge, did you buy any blueberry bushes? Ours are coming on great guns. 😁

I bloody love spring; watching all of the new life spring up from almost nowhere. 🌱 🌱🌱🌱🌱

Internal are you me? With a lottery win I would spend a few months travelling around then buy a small holiday with a big old farmhouse. Ducks, chickens, goat, dogs and donkey. At Christmas I would have lovely fires cracklings, garlands and fairy lights everywhere and trees, oh so many trees... I have spent a lot of time having this daydream Blush

Today was rubbish all around. Wet, grey, windy horrible weather, Work was rubbish, I have a headache and DH has been called away for a few hours so it's just me at home again.

HandbagCrazy · 17/04/2018 20:42

*small holding, not holiday. I would buy some HUGE holidays Xmas Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/04/2018 21:16

Had chicken, ham hock, leek and tarragon pie for lunch, had carnival curry with sunshine rice for supper, DS2 was in bed by 7.15, DD was in bed by 8.15. 😋🍗😋🍗🍚😴

NerosFiddle · 17/04/2018 21:18

I finally got a chance to catch up with you lovely people. My ds has been sick on and off for the past month.
I started my Christmas shopping today. The works have ten children's books for £10.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/04/2018 22:06

I got DS' main present yesterday: a big Batman Lego set he's decided he'd like.

Just need to work out what to get him for his birthday in July on top of the bike he's got!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/04/2018 22:15

Shhhh! My DS2 will want a big Batman Lego set! DS1 probably already has it! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 18/04/2018 07:33

Our two love Lego and DS is obsessed with Batman, so the two loves naturally meet!

It's going to be a lovely day today. And I'm stuck in my work cave. Boooo!

Internaljukebox · 18/04/2018 08:57

Handbag.. my only minor stumbling block is that I don’t actually do the lottery 😂 ... must start. Hope everyone has a good one x

WreckTangled · 18/04/2018 09:08

So warm and sunny here and my cherry tree is finally blossoming Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 12:14

Morning! Went to a PTA coffee morning today, we're organising a giant cake sale to raise funds for the summer fair, I asked lovely Edward in Sainsbury's if they could donate anything, he's donating a £20 gift card for ingredients, had eggs and bacon and a banana today. ☕🍩🍰😋🍳🍌

NoWordForFluffy · 18/04/2018 12:26

That's the least he could do given the amount you must spend in there! 😁

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 12:37

It's our only supermarket within walking distance, and the only place to buy clothes, DVDs, toys, books, and it has the nearest and nicest eating place round here, so yes, I spend pretty much all my money in there! 😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 12:38

It's shockingly expensive though.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/04/2018 13:00

I don't find their groceries expensive, not when you compare the per kg price with other supermarkets (who have smaller pack sizes on many things, hence appearing cheaper!).

But I imagine the cafe isn't cheap (ours is too small to have such a thing. Or clothes!).

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 13:17

Ours is huuuuuge! We could live a lot cheaper if we shopped in Asda, but it's a bus ride away, so that's my morning gone.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/04/2018 13:37

Asda cheats with pack sizes so per kg isn't any cheaper. Their fruit / veg doesn't last long either. We have all 4 major supermarkets here (though Sainsbury's is the smallest) so have plenty of choice. We still choose Sainsbury's for quality if nothing else.

WreckTangled · 18/04/2018 13:43

Our nearest big supermarket is a forty minute drive away 😩

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 13:45

I think if I shopped at Asda every day I'd notice the smaller pack sizes, because of the bus journey, before our big Sainsbury's opened here, I used to go once a week, but I'd buy DVDs, books, toys, clothes in one visit.

Just had feta and bulgar wheat salad for lunch. 😋

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 13:47

I couldn't live where you live Wreck, we only have a tiny fridge freezer, so I shop daily.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/04/2018 15:52

The DC are at Adventure today. 😆 I'm making chicken tikka masala for my supper. 😋🍗

BiddyPop · 18/04/2018 17:17

I am back in the office, waiting to go to Parliament later with my Bill. I managed to get a good bit of knitting done in the past couple of days though, as DH and I had to go "down west" to be near to where DD's class were going to the Gaeltacht (in case anything "happened") - so we spent a day driving there, a day driving around the locality (and I had a massage and a swim) and a morning driving back again.....really not a lot to do there and we couldn't even go mad and have buckets of wine as we needed to be able to drive the 20 minutes to where the class were staying...but it sounds like DD was having fun.

I'm not buying much yet - mad busy, haven't seen anything, but also we are going to China on holidays (DD is sailing in a championships) so I am going to bring a whole bag empty to fill up with interesting things...I'll have 10 days hanging around while she sails, so a combination of knitting/cross-stitching and shopping will be what I think I'll be mostly doing.

I also want to get fit though, as I know I'll be doing another Christmas Eve swim - DH has agreed we should stay home this year again, and that means DD wants to do the swim again (and DH enjoyed it even if he didn't swim).

Sorry I hadn't been around much recently - work has been mad busy and I've had a lot of travel as well. And non-work has also been mad. But it's starting to ease off ever-so-slightly!! Yay!! And while I have agreed to become Secretary to the whole Scout Group (it's a regulation thing - I shouldn't need to do much formally), I am stepping back from another Secretary to a Committee role in September as DD won't be in that school anymore (and the Committee know well that I'm moving on!! Grin).

NoWordForFluffy · 18/04/2018 17:26

I couldn't shop daily; I'd spend too much! We get a delivered shop once a week with top up fruit and veg from Tesco near to my work (it's about a mile, so I get a good 2 mile walk out of it!) as I'll go at lunch.

I've tried all the supermarkets with comparative shops online and to get the amount of veg and fruit I get from Sainsbury's, I'd have to spend more from other places, even when there's offers elsewhere. I shop about loads, so tend to know what's what at each place!

Mrsmadevans · 18/04/2018 18:38

Evening all I have had the most lovely day.
Hope you all have too Smile
