I'm having a lovely weekend away in Fluffy country Grin and I had a gorgeous day with my lovely in-laws who surprised me with a gorgeous birthday cake and a fab present.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/04/2018 21:37

Ahhh. Sounds lovely, Woolly!

We are at home for now. Off to Scotland tomorrow though.

Did you go to the Terracotta Army yet? Is it worth the money?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/04/2018 21:43

I set the table (nice tablecover, wine glasses, bunny rabbit paper napkins and a scented candle in a votive)

Quorn roast (DH/DD/me) chicken for DS (the only non vegetarian) , rustled up some amazing Yorkshire Puddings (I have the knack now. Good solid muffin tin, don;t let the batter stand too long, cook them first then they need a minute just before serving up to reheat)

Roast potatoes, cauli cheese, carrots, peas ans some Sainsbury Red Cabbage (I've never made my own, might try before Christmas)

Easter Sunday is a 2nd Christmas Dinner but no sprouts or parsnips.

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/04/2018 22:03

I really enjoyed then Fluffy but there were only a few plus two rooms of first dynasty artifacts and lots of information on the creation of the Chinese empire. I'm very glad I went as I've wanted to see the Terracotta Army for ages.

Hi! I fell off the thread as I've had an awful few months health and news wise and have sort of disappeared, but as this is the friendliest corner of MN I've caught up now.

Fluffy - where in Scotland are you going? I love Scotland - I've been trying to convince DH that we should retire up there.

Hairspray, if you're still on the thread, I hope you're ok 💐

Mrs I hope you're ok after your fall? Cwmbran gets busy in a Saturday but people generally don't notice what's going on around them.

We had some snow last night that fortunately hasn't amounted to anything today. I'm hoping to kick DH out for a few hours so I can crochet in peace.

Osopolar · 02/04/2018 10:38

Hope you are ok Handbag and welcome back! I thought soft play would be rammed on a rainy bank holiday but it's pretty quiet so that's a pleasant surprise :)

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 02/04/2018 10:46

Choccy pancakes are yummy Mrs! Easter Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2018 11:15

Hi, Handbag, sorry you've been having a crappy time of it. I hope you're safely out the other side now. Flowers

@HairsprayBabe, I hope everything is OK.

We are on our second train now, which we didn't know existed until we were on the first train. So we've paid through the nose for our tickets, but we've avoided the rail replacement bus service!

WreckTangled · 02/04/2018 14:32

We went to a McDonald's again Blush the weather is awful though. I also treated myself to a new kettle and toaster Grin

Come one come all .Welcome everyone . It’s countdown to Christmas 2018!
HandbagCrazy · 02/04/2018 14:36

Thank you! I don't want to bring the thread down so will just say the news / health means me having the thread baby I this year isn't going to happen Xmas Sad
It's hit quite hard today so I'm feeling very restless. We decided to stay in but I can't settle to anything, but I think DH knew this would happen soon so he took one of the turkeys out of the freezer on Saturday and is doing a roast today.

I'm going to attempt to finish a scarf I'm making for a Christmas crazy friend. I've made it and a lot of additions that need to be sewn on so it's just the fiddly bit of actually sewing left and I hate this part...

WreckTangled · 02/04/2018 14:43

Ah sorry handbag Thanks you're not bringing the thread down, this thread is great for general chit chat and support. The only rule is that you need to love Christmas Easter Grin it's perfect weather for a roast, we're having one too but just with sausages!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2018 15:25

We are safely in Glasgow. Thankfully the forecast has improved a bit so it's only light, not heavy, snow now!

We are eating in the hotel tonight. It's easy and we don't have to drag the kids outside. DD appears to be a touch unwell / tired, so I'm keeping an eye on her.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2018 15:26

And sorry to hear your news, Handbag. And Wreck's right; we are here to support each other, so you can talk about anything you like.

HandbagCrazy · 02/04/2018 19:48

Thank you! I'm kicking myself now because I forgot what a nice thread this is.
Me and DH went through a few more rounds of fertility treatment which haven't worked. We knew the chances weren't great but I was so confident and happy we were doing something but it isn't meant to be, for now at least. It's too raw to start planning what comes next (and I'm still pumped full of hormones which is making it worse) so I'm jumping into household jobs that I've been ignoring for a while.

Anyway, I gave up on the scarf and made a hat for DHs upcoming walking / climbing trip instead. I'm so tempted to start making Christmas decorations to cheer myself up but I have a long list of things I've promised to people first.

Mrsmadevans · 02/04/2018 20:04

Handbag are you ok now my dear, l so hope you are? I am sorry you have been poorly, we have missed you my dear good to have you back where you belong.
You can say anything you like to us here you know that , we are kindred spiritsEaster Smile.

Ceebs hope you are having a great Easter my dear.
Indeed..... they are yummy Perfect....
Fluffy glad you are safely tucked up on the hotel now , hope your DD is alright just tired , fingers crossed.
I am waiting to hear of news from Fridge and Hairspray Babe , hope they are doing well.

Fertility treatment of any kind is so hard to cope with Handbag. I had treatment too after 'trying' for 12 years and after 2 soul destroying miscarriages and here l am now with 22 and 24 yr old dds. I never thought it would ever happen for us but then a miracle. I so wish the same miracle for you my dear . I was so upset when others became pregnant with such ease it was just horrendous. There is every chance for you both to have your own darling baby , there is so much that can be done now . Have you looked at the TTC threads on here it seems as of there are a lot of others here all supporting each other , hugs my dear .... I hope you don't feel l am intruding l just want to help , we all do xxx

It's seems like every one had had a good Easter! I spent most of it with my in-laws and then bickering with DH as we both get so wound up being around them..Envy. But the DC had a fab time so it's not all bad.

Flowers Handbag at times like these - do what you want to do! Then come on here and post pictures of your christmassy decs Grin!

YY I do hope fridge & hairspray are okay.

Moving day tomorrow. Packers here now 😱😱 everywhere sounds so echoey and strange. It seems very decadent to be sitting on the sofa watching tv while people work around me. By god they're efficient though. They packed everything in DD2's room in just a bit less time than it will take her to untidy her new room 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 03/04/2018 11:20

Exciting, Woolly!

I love having a new house to plan. Hate moving though! Slight issue there, I think. 😂😂

We're on the train now. DS is tired and grumpy and occasionally very noisy. I feel for the others on the train! He is susceptible to getting hangry though, and for some reason he didn't eat much breakfast.
