I know some ex-W pupils. They have VERY good jobs! It’s worth it if affordable, I think.

Mrsmadevans · 09/03/2018 21:07

Thank you for writing out that recipe Hairspray l would have thanked you before but I have been so busy all day only just sat down to catch up lol. I have another rugby weekend here tomorrow so l am going to cook these for definite! Thank you so much will post pic of the finished brownies l promise!
Wreck, I totally agree .Hermes are a right pain they don't deliver on the weekend I had to find this out the hard way after waiting in all weekend for a parcel Hmm.
Woolly, hope you get the school sorted out soon, it makes one a little anxious, at least it did me. The private school sounds a good fall back to me but it would be a lot of money l guess but totally worth it l bet. The Terracotta Army visit sounds brilliant have a great time !
Sally nowt wrong with bacon sarnies they are a delicacy here lol
Fluffy that was a treat from work to buy you Pizza but you work damn hard and deserve it!
70 the plans for Easter sound lovely , I am loving the sound of the chick wreath !

Well I've just had an email to say the parcel has been delivered to sent dh out in the rain in his pjs but guess what? No parcel. Angry

If I had the money and space I would get an Easter tree. John Lewis have some lovely decorations.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/03/2018 00:25

I haven't done the Countdown for a while so here it is 290

DD bought some shoes, paid for next day delivery but they took 2 days. The courier / seller will blame the weather but we're going to see if we can get a refund on the delivery charge (I'm sure it'll be a 'No' Xmas Hmm )

WreckTangled · 10/03/2018 06:39

Next have already refunded the delivery charge for me. I'm still annoyed though as it was clothes for this weekend and I'm leaving at 9:30. I'm also annoyed the courier has lied and it's not the first time Angry

Anyway I'm looking forward to the weekend. We're going to the lounge cinema today then out for dinner and tomorrow we're going for brunch.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2018 08:07

I'm amazed any store still uses such unreliable delivery services to be honest.

It's such a pain that it's not shown up. Can you nip into a store when you get to where you're going?

Mrsmadevans · 10/03/2018 08:18

Morning all.
Wreck, these couriers lie all the time it is like a way of life for them, almost de rigueur! Glad you got the delivery refunded though. Have a great weekend your plans sound brilliant !
Am going to walk to town to get the ingredients for the brownies , will post the pics later l hope Xmas Grin Thank you for sharing the recipe Hairspray it was good of you my dear .
Right better shift myself , have a good weekend everyone . Fluffy hope you get time for a bit of R & R too my dear .

As promised the chocolate vegan brownies , absolutely delicious , thank you Hairspray ! I made them while the hated rugby was on mwahahahaaha, so it gave me a wonderful excuse to escape to the kitchen !

Oh wow Mrs the brownies look fab!! My DC made flags for their chosen country for the rugby...they then watched The Parent Trap whilst DH had to watch the rugger on his iPad with headphones Grin🏈

Yes Woolly I had friends at W who did very well and are now very confident people. Would home ed be an option while you wait for a place? My DSis did it for a year as private sch fees were not an option.

How Hermes are still in business is beyond me Hmm

WreckTangled · 10/03/2018 19:37

No news on my delivery. Still not arrived.

I went to the cinema. And had cocktails whilst watching the film Grin

Happy Mother's Day for those mums amongst us! My two have really got into it this year (god knows what DD has been told at school as she was very keen that I have breakfast in bed for some reason!).

We are off to Dobbies in a bit to get some manure and some grow bags plus have our two free hot drinks for this month (I joined their loyalty scheme a few weeks' ago and this is one of the perks!).

It looks like it'll be a nice day, thankfully.

Ohhhhh Mrs (channels inner Frankie Howard) LOVE that card Xmas Grin

I am now a Pro at this Mothers' Day Malarky (my DS is 18, DD nearly 16)

Bought cards for my DMum/DMil/ DS to Me/ DD to Me/ the guinea-pigs to DD / (my guinea pig just tagged herself on DD card)

Flowers from Sainsburys (tulips/carnations ) I am far too tight fisted to allow DH to spend ££ on delivery flowers .

I ordered earrings for DS to give to me (I chose them)
Bought a blouse for DD to give to me (my choice she wouldn't have picked it)

We're doing a Mothers Day tea later and I will rustle up some Yorkshire Puddings for DS (because that's what Good Mothers DO according to him) Wink

SallyDog · 11/03/2018 11:38

You have got it nailed 70 Wink. I spent £40 at the yarn shop yesterday as an early gift to myself Grin

I am chuffed with bacon and scrambled egg on toast from DH & a nice new mug & candle from dh from the DC.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/03/2018 19:36

DM came, we gave her her card and teddy, had lunch in the Sainsbury's café, DS2 had chicken nuggets, chips and beans, crisps and a chocolate chip muffin, DD had fish pie and tenderstem broccoli and billionaire's shortbread, DM had fish and chips and a strawberry tart, I had steak pie, mash, peas and gravy, had chicken biryani for supper, DM went home, both DC are in bed now. 🐻😋🍗🍟🍫🐟🍫🐟🍟🍓😋🍗😴

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/03/2018 19:38

I hope you all had a lovely day. I got a bunch of flowers at church (all the women did) and I'm now sitting watching tv with a glass of wine - waiting for DS to go to bed before cracking out my present - the divine Colin Firth in the latest Kingsman film. DD2 is on dishes duty and is making me a lovely cup of tea. Bliss.

Morning. And here's Monday again! Time flies past!

We went to the garden centre yesterday and bought some manure and another blueberry bush (or it will be once it's grown!). I then spent a while potting the bush on into a bigger pot and digging the manure into where the veggies will go. As well as mulching over the fish, blood and bone fertiliser around the raspberries (I'm doing what the RHS is instructing me to do with the raspberries!).

I had a glance round the garden and the strawberries are showing signs of new growth, which is good. No sign of the potatoes popping up yet, or the peas, but the cold weather has probably set them back. I've ordered troughs for my herbs too, so will plant them out next weekend.

I've a feeling the lawn will need mowing next weekend. Warmer weather with sunshine and showers all week = perfect growing conditions! I love getting out into the garden, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

My peppers and tomatoes (and a solitary sage plant) are all growing well too. All is good in my gardening world! (See photo!)

My parents and my in laws are having some of these plants. I don't have room for 17 pepper plants in my poly green houses! 😂

Hello can I join you? Been feeling a bit whistful the last while, think this is the thread for me! Love the idea of a Rudolph day every month esp as it falls on my pay day Smile
In the meantime look what I got in the local Poundland, will keep me going to the 25th March anyways.
