We had a bit more snow last night but nothing has settled...

I'm in less pain today! 9.5 hours sleep helped will be back in pain at the weekend as going to London to see a friend, will be worth it though.

I got to work just after 7.30 due to dodgy trains which can't cope with slight snow so have lost out on overtime money today. Booo!

Morning!

I decided not to go on the cross trainer today, so I'm on the 5.59am train to work. Loads to do, so needs must and all that!

DS came in with us at 2.30 this morning. I then lay awake thinking about how I'm going to respond to a Defendant in relation to an email they sent to me the other day. I drafted an absolute cracker in my head, so I hope I remember it! 😂

So glad it's the weekend tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the little break!

I have the BEST recipe for vegan brownies MrsM Made them for a vegan lady at my work, everyone hoovered them up!

Day off today. Have hospital appointment then need a quick food shop and then Mother's Day tea party at school. Phew! Busy busy

Recipe is in a cookbook and I adapted it so will just post it here use a 9x9 brownie pan lined with baking paper.

230g vitalite, melted (or use sunflower oil)
430g lightly packed dark brown sugar
2 chia seed or flax seed "eggs" - see link below
2 tsp vanilla paste
1 caramel flavoring (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
200 grams flour
60g cocoa powder
100g vegan chocolate chips

Oven @ 175C - fan

Stir melted vitalite/oil and brown sugar until blended. Add the "egg" vanilla, caramel flavoring (optional) and salt then stir vigorously until smooth.
Add the flour and stir until fully incorporated, then beat with the wooden spoon or spatula for 40 to 50 strokes, You want to see the mix to be pulling away from the sides of the bowl. Stir in chocolate chips.
Bake 40-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out relatively clean. I cut into 20 smallish squares as they are really really rich!

And Easter is like a 2nd Christmas with the planning, the nice food and The Tree (Easter Tree) and Door Wreath (spectacularly OTT little wreath made of yellow chickens from Sainsbury last year. Even I felt the multicolour one was a bridge too far.....)

Few relaxing days, traditional meals and some Easter presents for the DC (they're getting too old for too many eggs so its much better for them to have some bath smells or similar)

I'm really annoyed. I placed an order with next yesterday and it hasn't come I hate shitty Hermes. It was stuff for tomorrow and obviously isn't going to come in time now.

Hello all. Busy here clearing out ready for packing up and moving after Easter.

Still in limbo over DS' school place. I need to throw myself at the mercy of the admissions experts again with yet another query. I seem to have lost the capacity to think for myself. we have even discussed private schools (I have no idea if this is even still possible) - my dyed in the wool Socialist dad will be turning in his grave.

We will be in your neck of the woods for Easter Sunday Fluffy. I have got tickets to see the Terracotta Army in Liverpool on the Saturday so I'm looking forward to that.

Woolly that sounds super stressful...fingers crossed everything works out! If I can decipher correctly I went to U and left after a year but others loved it and did really well. I think so much of the school experience is down to personality rather than the actual school iyswim.

Fluffy DD7 asked i would pass her the phone book so she could order pizza for tea 😂 she would be very jealous of your work lunch! Poor soul got bacon sandwiches instead as I feel like death warmed up and I am trying to budget
