Ill start .....
Cheese!!!! This will out me if anyone in my locality is on MN for sure lol!

I always always have cheese and lots of it at Christmas ...

Booked my slot with Asda in November for yesterday first things that went in trolley was all my flavoured cheeses. Eight of them, plus cheddar! I received the cheddar and one just ONE other all the rest out of stock!!

So put a call out on FB for local shops and supermarkets and reassured that everyone has lots of cheese phew!

Sent son out this afternoon with a list to try the shops that had replied .... all I got to add to my very small collection was Danish Blue. He handed the list to supermarkets and independents alike and it seems I was asking for the impossible

Still got no cheese selection to speak of, can't remember a Christmas without Cheese I know I have another day tomorrow to find some but I do not hold out much hope :(

I cannot image Christmas without cheese 🧀 defer it. I cannot find white tea lights, I have 250 billion of them somewhere in this house and I can't find them, there aren't any in the 6 supermarkets near us and I'm not going to Ikea!

jlbcredit · 23/12/2017 17:50

Got some special cheeses in my Sainsburys delivery no problem this morning. I have however given up on finding Lebkuchen hearts (the ones with jam in). They're supposedly really common but not in any supermarkets near us.

Snausage · 23/12/2017 17:51

Both Lidl and Waitrose had loads of cheese this morning!

nigelschristmasham · 23/12/2017 17:58

Candy canes. Which dd requested yesterday.
And I can't find my ancient and threadbare but family traditional table runner. No where has any left at this point.

Babababababybel23 · 23/12/2017 17:59

There was carnage trying to track down Yorkshire puddings yesterday. I refused to give up. I love them Grin

Spam88 · 23/12/2017 18:01

jlb Lidl is normally good for all sorts of lebkuchen.

Cannot find my DH's stocking anywhere. He's getting a (second hand) gift bag instead.

glitterglitters · 23/12/2017 18:24

@jlbcredit Coop!! They have the jam ones.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/12/2017 18:59

In a total reverse of the question asked, last night whilst getting all the presents out of the cupboard to be wrapped I found a carrier bag full of presents that I bought for last year. So everyone has extra stocking fillers this year.

Fannyfanakerpants · 23/12/2017 19:01

Turkey! No excuse either. I just didn't order one. I try to buy local meat but obviously all the farm shops are now sold out. Honestly not sure what I'm going to do (pork, probably)

Cavender · 23/12/2017 19:03

Parsnips. But I’m in the USA so I don’t think they are traditional here.

We’ll no doubt survive. Grin

ohtheholidays · 23/12/2017 19:09

Sugared bloody almonds and I want some,I've looked in Asda,Morrisons,M&S,Iceland, lidl and several different pound shops and Can I find them can I heck as like.

bettythebutterfly · 23/12/2017 19:23

Cavender, I'm also in the US (MN), and bought some at SuperTarget yesterday. First time I've ever seen them there...

Laqueue · 23/12/2017 19:26

Goldenhoops- do you have a BM bargains anywhere nearby?

hugoagogo · 23/12/2017 19:32

Romanesco cannot be had around here for love nor money

Missingthesea · 23/12/2017 19:42

Sorry OP, I know it's not what you meant but we can't find a nice present we'd bought for a family member. We bought it 6 weeks ago and it seems to have vanished off the face of the earth Sad

Gizlotsmum · 23/12/2017 20:19

Santa’s magic key!

buttwingsham · 23/12/2017 20:29

@nigelschristmasham do you have a Nisa near you?
I'm not sure if they are All over the country, they had loads in there this evening.

mercurymaze · 23/12/2017 20:29

the game scattergories. literally no-one sells it in shops it seems

buttwingsham · 23/12/2017 20:30

@gizlotsmum clintons cards had some magic keys yesterday.

Fadingmemory · 23/12/2017 20:32

Lots of cheese in M&S and Tesco today

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 23/12/2017 20:35

We have all we need and then some, but I trawled three supermarkets for sprouts yesterday. Also all the eggs were sold out. Not sure if people are preparing for the end of the world or if local supermarkets have just under-ordered.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 23/12/2017 20:39

I cant find an umbrella for dd1 anywhere... its december why do no shops have fucking umbrellas?!?

prettypaws · 23/12/2017 20:42

Sprouts were all 20p a bag in our Asda, they had so many and nobody taking them. Maybe they got other stores too!

I can't find decent Christmas decorations anywhere. I've been doing 24 your days and not had time to look till yesterday and the shelves were empty in all the shops i tried.

FiveGoPrematurelyGrey · 23/12/2017 20:42

I need a pie funnel.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 23/12/2017 20:57

I actually cannot imagine an entire town with no cheese! That is crazy.

Our Aldi had loads and loads yesterday and M&S had tonnes this afternoon here.

I have bought a vintage cheddar in a wax coating, a baking camembert with red onion maramlade to go on top of it and a small cheese board of local cheeses. I also have loads of parmesan, fresh mozzarella and gouda.

We shall have no shortage of cheese here!
