I've spent £320 so far and will spend another £120 or so collecting my food from M&s.. I am hosting a party on Christmas Eve which seems to be getting bigger by the day (think, is it ok if I bring my brother/friend/random person) for about 35, so lots of nice food and drink for that , and then just three on Boxing Day! Thankfully I'm at my parents on Christmas Day!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 23/12/2017 17:37

£48

HighwayDragon1 · 23/12/2017 18:19

£0 - not been yet...

ILikeyourHairyHands · 23/12/2017 20:19

Griottes.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 23/12/2017 20:28

OMG Griottes look incredible - I would LOVE them!

So much variety in how we all do Christmas, I love it!

iloveMiWadi · 23/12/2017 20:29

For Christmas clothes , it came to about €400, shopping for food around 200. We really needed Christmas clothes.

HemanOrSheRa · 23/12/2017 20:34

£190 Ocado order. I didn't do a shop last week so that includes usual stuff like toilet/kitchen roll, cat food, washing powder etc. £150 Booths order - mostly meat and a few goodies. £90 Aldi and £35 Asda shops. We have DP's family over on Christmas Eve. Just the 3 of us Christmas day and more family coming Boxing Day.

CakeNinja · 23/12/2017 20:40

£200 at the butchers
£700 with ocado
We are hosting for 15 plus an extra 8 in the evening and provide everything.
A lot of that was booze, some nice bottles of gin and vodka, couple of crates of craft (wanky) beers and some other individual beers, few bottles of wine. It also included some more plates and glasses, a couple of new chopping boards etc.
Actually worked out per head it’s cheaper than most of the pub Christmas dinners round here.

nemno · 23/12/2017 20:44

Many hundreds . But if you buy ethically and treat yourself and your guests to special foods that you only eat at Christmas then that doesn't mean a particularly huge amount of food and drink. All the supermarkets stock luxury items let alone the specialist shops and online suppliers so plenty of people must buy them.

Stompythedinosaur · 23/12/2017 21:32

I spent £230 but that includes quite a bit of drink and food tuntilo last until new year.

EvilCleverDog · 23/12/2017 21:35

2 adults, 2 teens and a baby, spent £245 but that’s including babys milk/nappies/wipes etc, a normal weekly shop (normally £110ish) and things like crackers, selection boxes and cleaning stuff.

disconnecteddrifter · 23/12/2017 21:43

£20 on turkey, £8 on gammon, £10 on veg. Hosting for 13 but asked people to bring bottle, pudding and mince pies

BluePheasant · 23/12/2017 21:57

Still got some bits to pick up tomorrow 😭 but I think will come to about £150 all together.
But that’s only for Boxing Day lunch, (3 adults, 1 child) a large homemade Christmas cake and a batch of mincemeat for mince pies.
DH got a gammon from waitrose for about £25, I would have got a cheaper one! It had better be nice!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 23/12/2017 22:45

@UnreasonablyPissedOff here's an article about how they're made, they are amazing. A real seasonal treat.

I may let DH have one.

TheImprobableGirl · 24/12/2017 01:03

£175.... not too bad until I admit we are at my parents for a full xmas dinner Hmm

Rainbowmother · 24/12/2017 01:08

I was thinking along the lines of £100. Did the shop, went for a nice leisurely coffee and cake afterwards. Got back to the car and found some bits had totally defrosted. DH is food poisoning fearer and insisted we cook it immediately and have for dinner Shock so did another shop today as found out last night we were having 2 extra bodies turning up.

So around £240 for 4 adults, two kids and a defrosting situation.

Pixiedust1973 · 24/12/2017 01:18

Probably about £300, including new year booze too. Only 3 of us for Christmas sadly, but enough goodies & booze to console ourselves! Grin

Whisky2014 · 24/12/2017 01:23

About £400 :(

GrockleBocs · 24/12/2017 01:25

£150 to cover Xmas Day, Boxing Day for 6 and 4 for the other days plus £40 for a local duck and a few bits bought ahead. My dad's bringing the wine and stilton :)

NextIndia · 24/12/2017 01:39

About £300. By the end, it just felt like a smash and grab. I wasn't even looking at the prices. I spent £10 on pigs in blankets.

JingsMahBucket · 24/12/2017 07:37

@sansou, do you happen to have your recipe for gravlax handy? I was thinking of giving that a try in the new year. Thank you!

MollyHuaCha · 24/12/2017 07:58

Going this morning. Expect to spend £200.
