Just got back from Tesco. Spent about £150!!

It was a bloody nightmare!

This is for 4 of us.

8 of us - £350 for 4 days from 24th through to the 27th
Christmas Eve - £100
Christmas Day - £190
Boxing Day - £60
I expect quite a lot of leftovers that will see us into the New Year.

Sgtmajormummy · 22/12/2017 14:50

About €150 for four of us, a third of that on meat!

I got a hamper from work which provided a lot of nibbles and sweets in small quantities (good) so I got two types of wine, pickles, mini pudding and cake from Betty's of Harrogate, mincemeat I had a jar from last year and some better-looking staples like fruit (pineapple, pomegranate) and veg (potatoes specifically for roasties and sprouts).

Oh, and a big tin of quality chocolate biscuits.

I always make a HUGE lasagne for Boxing Day drop-ins but I'm sure we'll be eating leftovers for several days

Tanfastic · 22/12/2017 14:51

£100 for three of us. But I've got 8 for Xmas day. This doesn't include booze which dh got weeks ago.

TeddyIsaHe · 22/12/2017 14:51

£140 from Sainsburys
£60 in Morrisons
£50 in Aldi

For 2 adults and a 1 year old. And no booze as we don’t really drink. Big rib of beef on the bone for xmas day, a ham, lots of cheeses, cured meats and goodies. We like to eat very well over the festive period.

DumbledoresArmy · 22/12/2017 14:57

I don't feel so bad now lol

All in, about £100.00 including drinks.
DMIL has ordered us a fresh goose (well not fresh as in still alive I hope), it's due to land before lunchtime tomorrow!
There's only 3 of us and DMIL for Christmas lunch and we keep it fairly simple as in a few extra trimmings and we usually only have a Greggs mince pie and cream for pudding (and a simple prawn cocktail for a starter).
Amazing how it adds up though.

welshweasel · 22/12/2017 15:04

£300 for 5 adults and a child. Included 12 bottles of fizz, 12 bottles of wine, cider, massive turkey, ready prepped stuffing/gravy etc as need low effort, lots of ready made canapés, a shed load of smoked salmon etc etc. Will need to go again between Xmas and new year.

GogoGobo · 22/12/2017 15:05

We have spent a fortune. DH is like The Great bloody Gatsby at Christmas!
£390 Ocado
£180 Riverford
£100 Kelly’s Turkey
£90 M and S
And about £400 on booze!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 22/12/2017 15:06

About a grand.

I accept that is slightly excessive.

Theresnonamesleft · 22/12/2017 15:07

Around £70. Including Booze, cat food and food for a few days.

No-one can be bothered this year with a roast. So, it's party food all the way. Normally would be at least double.

AnonEvent · 22/12/2017 15:07

About £300 but there are 2.5 of us (DD is only 14 months so doesn't drink Champagne) and we're hosting 15 people, it was a bit ouchy, but not unpredictable.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2017 15:10

£0.

I do surveys to earn nectar points all year. Pays for all the December shopping.

ButtMuncher · 22/12/2017 15:11

Roughly £350. I'm hosting and that's everything for 7 (inc 2 kids). I could have spent loads more Blush

blueskyinmarch · 22/12/2017 15:16

£188. Got 4 tonight, 7 Christmas Eve and 9 Christmas Day. That does not include the Turkey or a big steak pie though. Did have 10 bottles of wine in there!

PenelopePickle · 22/12/2017 15:16

Around £50. That’s for myself, DH and 3 small DC. No booze as I’m pregnant and DH isn’t much of a drinker.

Last year we didn’t eat most of what we bought so I’ve scaled it back and will be preparing for DH and DC to moan there’s not endless chocolate and goodies.

ThursdayLastWeek · 22/12/2017 15:18

About double what I’d spend on a normal weekly. Most of the extra is booze and treats.

pollyx · 22/12/2017 15:22

Roughly £680 for 8 of us on just Christmas food and drink. Still yet to buy veg, and do a small weekly food shop.

SagelyNodding · 22/12/2017 15:22

Nothing so far! This year we aren't feeling very festive, but tomorrow I'll buy the veg, dessert and booze, we're having a rack of lamb which was a gift from a supplier... A cheaper, quieter Christmas than usual over here.

WillowWept · 22/12/2017 15:29

Probably £500 without alcohol but including soft drinks.

My turkey and ham were the best part of £150.

MrsBonato · 22/12/2017 15:51

Our first Christmas eating at home, we've never done or got any Christmas food.

£110 ocado
£130 Waitrose

There's only me, DH and DS.
A lot has gone on nice extras and picky bits. We got a cheap ham joint £12.50 for our Xmas meal.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 22/12/2017 15:51

8 of us, £57

Taffeta · 22/12/2017 15:55

£500 on deliveries for today and yesterday
Only includes 40 bottles of beer booze wise other booze bought ages ago
Includes food for
Party for 65 people
Xmas Day and Boxing Day for 6
27th lunch and supper for 14

NotAChristmasCakePop · 22/12/2017 15:56

Just the 4 of us. Went to Tesco yesterday and got our normal supplies and the bits for Monday £70 (Thurs-Mon shop plus tissues, washing powder etc) . DH got beef and pork from the butchers though.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 22/12/2017 15:59

Husband is a Chef so maybe that's why we spent a lot less? We have all the 'accessories' as I call them already.

OliviaStabler · 22/12/2017 15:59

£250 for the Christmas period Blush
