Just got back from Tesco. Spent about £150!!

It was a bloody nightmare!

This is for 4 of us.

About £200 for three adults including booze.

That's Christmas eve, Christmas day, boxing day and hopefully enough to see us through to the 28th with leftovers.

I don't think it's too bad, as it includes wine and spirits.

MustBeThin · 22/12/2017 18:09

Not really sure, not including meat from the butchers because I buy the same meat every week which we will be having Xmas eve/boxing day.

2 of us
£11 turkey crown
£76 at asda yesterday
£12 Peroni for me as I'm not a big drinker

Since November we've been adding extras to our shopping each week so we didn't have a massive Christmas bill. So we'd already bought After 8s, celebrations, Terry's segments, Doritos and dip, some chocs from the Lindt shop in Manchester and all OHs alcohol.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 22/12/2017 18:13

Bloody loads. Thankfully most isn't 'real' money as I've had an M&S voucher and Nectar points to spend.

It should last us over Christmas and new year though, so I'm not too bothered!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 22/12/2017 18:14

Oh, the ingredients I've bought for my baking seem to have made the amount spent way worse than a year where I've only made mince pies.

LaurieFairyCake · 22/12/2017 18:22

Normal shop is about £200 for 2 weeks including everything.

Spent £350 - so right now I'm £50 less Confused

Likely forgotten something

cathyclown · 22/12/2017 18:32

150 quid and that's just for two of us. Might last a few days!

Most of it was booze though. People will call in and it's nice to have a few festive thinggys available aswell like canapes and nibbles that you wouldn't buy any other time really.

Shops are open again Boxing Day. The war and rationing is not even near.

carbuncleonapigsposterior · 22/12/2017 18:34

Redeemed £110 in Sainsburys whilst I was gathering food courtesy of my Nectar points, husband was simultaneously filling a separate trolley with drink he spent around £90. In addition I have also done a £40 shop in Marks and spent a further £20 in Waitrose. We have guests on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Over the course of the 3 days we will be feeding 15 adults and 3 children in separate sittings.

HRTpatch · 22/12/2017 18:35

I eat out Xmas eve and boxing day and have probably spent about £100 for 3 adults. I've always got loads of alcohol in.

feelingdizzy · 22/12/2017 18:35

About 500 altogether, I have 15 coming Christmas day and shouldn't have to shop for a couple if weeks

Madbengalmum · 22/12/2017 18:40

£120 Waitrose
£80 M&S
£150 Tesco
£80 Butchers
£50 Misc

No alcohol included, just food, for 2. We like lots of v fancy cheese! 😂

cathyclown · 22/12/2017 18:42

I always say a silent Thank You to whatever power enables me to spend like this.

The foodbank thread is a sobering thought.

blibblibs · 22/12/2017 18:57

I was £103 in Aldi today but that should last until the new year apart from bread milk and fruit.
That's for 5, three adults and two children. It only included two bottles of baileys as I've been buying extra alcohol for a few weeks.

TheRebelHedgehog · 22/12/2017 19:00

In grand total About £500 I think. That includes a £95 turkey

LadyDeadpool · 22/12/2017 19:03

Just spent £67 in Morrisons, We're just doing a sandwich and salad spread for xmas day then it was a normal 2 week shop. We're not big celebrators can't really afford to be but the kids will have a nice time and lots of nice things for them to eat. We don't have guests either and I don't drink Husband will probably have a 20 pack of Fosters.
Disabled and on ESA but also thankfully not huge indulgers over the festive period so for us it's all about the children.

Sallystyle · 22/12/2017 19:34

£300

Includes alcohol, chocolates etc, Xmas day, boxing day and hopefully a couple of days after that.

7 of us in my house and I also have an extra 6 people here Boxing Day.

fleshmarketclose · 22/12/2017 19:47

i spent £1.16 Grin Had £160 worth of More vouchers from Morrisons because I save them all year. Shopping came to £156.16 so kept one if the vouchers and gave the difference in cash. No alcohol in that as nobody drinks here.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 22/12/2017 19:55

I spent £210 in Aldi today. That is everything for 5 of us over Christmas and includes turkey, ham, smoked salmon, treats, wine, beer and prosecco.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/12/2017 19:56

Well i spent £190 today but tbh some of that was little stocking fillers/wrapping paper so i would knock off about £50. I got a ham and brussell sprouts, potatoes, a few normal things, pate, crackers, beer, puddings, cakes for kid, few bottles of fizzy drink, Robinsons, chicken breasts, pickles, continental meats, cheese, cereal, pancake, fruit, veg. Sloer, crisps, nuts, popcorn, dips. Cant think of anything else!!!!!

Lisamac1988 · 22/12/2017 20:13

£170 and that’s for two adults and 3 young kids.that will last about 6 days

gillybeanz · 22/12/2017 20:15

£315.00 There are only 4 of us for xmas dinner but 7 for boxing day.
There was a few bottles of booze in there to though.

mrssapphirebright · 22/12/2017 20:49

Did £170 yesterday and £60 today. Pick up turkey from the butchers tomorrow which will be another £49.

When you put it in writing it seems like a hell of a lot! Only me and dh with 2 teen dc, but doing a Xmas eve buffet / party for us plus another 5 adults and 3 kids and as day is us 4 plus another 3 adults.

Also includes stuff for another buffet party on 27th with us plus 2 adults and 3 children.

Includes all booze to last us over new year too.

SingingSeuss · 22/12/2017 20:57

Too much. £100 on booze, £300 on food (but that's up to and including new year plus toiletries/ household etc)... trying to justify it but it's still a lot Blush

wheresthel1ght · 22/12/2017 20:58

About £200 but we had £80 of more points and £90 of Xmas saver stamps but that includes alcohol and food for about 2.5 weeks

hashtagelfie · 22/12/2017 22:21

£137 for the next week. Normally our shop is £80 so that's £57ish on Christmas Day although some of that will last more then one day.
We have pop tarts for breakfast, cola gammon with all the trimmings for lunch and 3(!) desserts (Yule log, profiteroles or vienetta) then cheese and biscuits for tea. Plus Pringles and nuts etc for snacks. And I'm spoiling the dc with lots of Coke and lemonade which they never usually get

I'm so excited!!

hashtagelfie · 22/12/2017 22:22

Oh I should add that's for 2 adults and 4 dc although an extra 4 adults for cheese and biscuits
