I’ll have 5 on Xmas eve and 12 Xmas day so I don’t want to go overboard on Xmas eve. We are going to a carol service and I was thinking a chilli or bolognese once we get back. Would you be happy with that or is it not special enough?

I'm working a 13 hour shift. Probably some chilli I have in the freezer. Gin and wine as soon as I get home!

LauraMipsum · 21/12/2017 13:41

Soup, cheese, crackers, grapes and nuts. And something alcoholic.

ChristmasAddict · 21/12/2017 16:12

Slow cooker tomato soup for lunch and then lasagne, garlic bread and salad for dinner followed by M&S trifle :)

Peachypie83 · 21/12/2017 16:59

Gammon egg and chips so we have leftover ham for Christmas sandwiches. I have never cooked gammon before though so not quite sure to do with it

CurryWorst · 21/12/2017 17:00

Chinese and champagne, as tradition dictates!

Chocolatear · 21/12/2017 17:02

Left over turkey and ham. We're doing Christmas on Saturday with family and going away on Boxing day. It's going to be very strange!

MrsPworkingmummy · 21/12/2017 17:02

We've ordered a shellfish platter, which we'll enjoy with salad, fresh baked bread and a bottle of champagne. X

Clutterbugsmum · 21/12/2017 17:14

Have no idea, was going to do a picky tea but my sister and BIL are going to my mum's on Saturday so we now going there for a buffet tea. And I don't fancy a picky tea two days in a row.

I may do chicken Parmesan and pasta, but no sure I fancy a big heavy tea the day before christmas.

lunatune · 21/12/2017 17:16

Some sort of takeaway or picky tea. Anything that's easy with minimal dishes.

CambozolaDreams · 21/12/2017 17:18

Buffet of picky stuff. Nothing fancy. Sausage rolls, party food etc. I can’t be doing with proper cooking.

Me & DH will probably start on the cheese and wine after the DCs are in bed, too!

Bluntness100 · 21/12/2017 17:27

Salmon fillets here. Normal meal.

TroysMammy · 21/12/2017 17:30

Sausages on sticks, cheese and pineapple on sticks, pasties, pizza, trifle and cake. It's my DP's birthday and it's really for our niece's benefit Wink

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 21/12/2017 17:34

Sausage and mash. Always a winner and doesn't require much brain power from me!

SallyOMalley · 21/12/2017 17:36

Lasagne, salad and garlic bread here too!

Hippadippadation · 21/12/2017 17:37

DDs and I are going to DMum's after the Christingle service in the morning and she's doing shepherds pie & veg apparently. Yum. If I'm at home with DH, we either get a chippy tea or have cheese & crackers type things.

BeyondAssignation · 21/12/2017 17:37

Smoked salmon and cream cheese for breakfast

Picky tea of antipasti type things and some pizza for the kids

JollyGiraffe · 21/12/2017 17:38

Wahhhh so many 'picky teas'......

dertyyuoih2 · 21/12/2017 17:40

Olives, feta, cured meats, fancy potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, dips, garlic prawns...smoked salmon... and bubbly!

All whilst present wrapping with kids in bed!

babyturtles · 21/12/2017 17:40

doing slow cooked ham and rolls to be filled with the ham.

blibblibs · 21/12/2017 17:40

We're having ham, two will have sweet potato fries & salad, two will have cauliflower cheese and another macaroni cheese.
All easy enough and I'm not leaving the house on Sunday so all good.

dertyyuoih2 · 21/12/2017 17:40

(We normally do Chinese takeaway but fancied a change!)

Mupflup · 21/12/2017 17:41

I'm going to make Jamie Oliver's trout pate with Yorkshire puds and we'll prob have a bottle of prosecco. I was going to do it for a starter on Christmas day but i think it would be a bit much.

sparklytrees · 21/12/2017 17:42

We're going to Pizza Express

SimplyNigella · 21/12/2017 17:52

I’m cooking a ham which we will then graze on with the other leftovers between Christmas and New Year.

ChippyMinton · 21/12/2017 17:59

Gammon and proper home-fried chips.
