Hi Folks,

Black Friday is the shopping event of the year, with huge sales from loads of brands giving savvy shoppers the chance to get their hands on some serious bargains in the run up to Christmas. This year, Black Friday falls on 23 November 2018. Avoid the crowds and get stuck into the sales from the comfort of your own home with our round-up of the best online Black Friday deals.

After the success of last year’s live Black Friday thread, the Mumsnet shopping team will be here from dawn ‘til dusk helping you find the very best deals.

Feel free to post any great deals you come across here. If you’re strapped for time, let us know if there is anything you’re looking for and we will try our best to source a deal for you.

Quick reminder of how this works: we've selected these deals independently by scouring the web for bargains that we think MNers will love. We can’t guarantee that every single product has been at its 'pre-Black Friday price' for more than 30 days, but we only pull out offers that seem to us like genuinely good deals on products we know MNers rate.

We do get a small referral % if you happen to buy through these links and, if you post a fantastic offer but don't include a link, MNHQ may edit your post so that other users can easily find it.

I might give it a couple of weeks then ring up and ask for an actual book, like I was expecting one Grin

Thiscantreallybehappening · 25/11/2017 10:52

One, I have seen something about that but I was also told that there was an option when you registered online. If you ring up and explain they might send you one.

Thank you for all your help. Glad I've ordered it now and getting quite excited Smile

ratspeaker · 25/11/2017 11:01

Someone was after Bose QuiteComfort II Noise Cancelling Headphones for less than £330. Found some here for £294.99

Lostmyemailaddress · 25/11/2017 13:19

I don't know if anyone has already said this but bnm has 20% off all toys in store today and tomorrow. It also includes any you get that fall under the 2 for £20.

Urbannightmare · 25/11/2017 13:25

Sadly no star wars bargains yet, will post if I find any - am hoping for something cyber Monday but have never had much joy before!

Housewife2010 · 25/11/2017 13:43

I have the Kitchenaid cookbook. It isn't that good. My Kitchenaid is in the Candy Apple which is a gorgeous red. I knew that the Almond would be more sensible but I had to get the shade and I've never regretted it.

Tiredmumno1 · 25/11/2017 14:30

ssd if you find any let me know Wink

A word of warning to all ordering from Amazon. I ordered a Barbie Dolls' house from the Amazon Black Friday sale as a Christmas present for Nancy my 5 year old daughter. The dolls’ house was to be her main present; however when the item was delivered the courier presented my wife and daughter with the dolls’ house without any packaging. My daughter saw her main Christmas present a month before it was supposed to be delivered by Santa Claus!

We have lost the chance to wrap the present and place it under the Christmas tree, we have lost the look of surprise on Nancy’s little face when she opens the box to see her main present and to wonder how Santa manged to get it down the chimney. Black Friday has ruined a little girl’s Christmas. A little girl who is now asking us if Santa is real?

Please check before opening the door to see if your gifts have been packaged correctly. I have written to Amazon to complain. Has this happened to anyone else? And any suggestions on how to reassure Nancy that Santa is real would be much appreciated?

VivaLeBeaver · 25/11/2017 14:49

Why not just tell her that Father Christmas brings some of the presents but that friends and family also buy more. That way she knows to say thank you to people who have bought her stuff but also keeps the magic of Christmas. Also will help her understand that she might not get everything she asks for.

FlaviaAlbia · 25/11/2017 15:00

What VivaLeBeaver said.

There's usually a tick box for the packaging where it tells you it'll be delivered in the original box and asks if you want amazon packaging instead.

ReggaetonLente · 25/11/2017 15:04

I'm glad Amazon are taking steps to reduce packaging!

Wishingandwaiting · 25/11/2017 15:17

Thanks Chalky1980

But a tad ott

Although I get you’re upset.

She’s 5! She should accept what you say. So just tell her that mummy and daddy saw this and couldn’t resist buying so they told Father Christmas what they were doing.
Then pop it away and speak no more about it.

Wishingandwaiting · 25/11/2017 15:19

It’s one of those cases whereby how you deal with it will determine things.

You throw your hands up in the air and start complaining about amazon and how upset you are and how everything is ruined - then that will indeed spoil it for you DD

You hide your disappointment, plaster a smile on your face and make up a good yarn - she won’t think anymore about it

Uptheduffy · 25/11/2017 15:29

IVe had a “visible” package from amazon before. Sometimes you see a bit saying you can ask for it to be delivered in an amazon box, but not always. At this time of year I would walk out of the house to check and I have a large bag at the front door to cover stuff up with. It’s so obviously going to be a present, it is very annoying - bad enough for adult parents tbh.

allaboutthatsass · 25/11/2017 16:05

PC World have imo the best sprocket deal as it comes with paper, a nice wallet and photo frame. Price is £119

HP are doing the sprockett on it's own for £109 with a discount and you might be able to get a student discount on top of that.

I'm looking for home technology gadgets for my dad but nothing to do with cooking or cleaning lol - something that would be good for their new flat.

salequeen · 25/11/2017 16:07

Just say Santa fetched it so she could approve it and check it's 100 %perfect now it's been made and the elves are picking it up when she's asleep to add pretty bows ready for drop off Christmas Eve!

If my kids saw there's and new what they were getting I'd get amazon man to tell them Father Christmas said they had to clean there bedrooms everyday otherwise he's elves are taking it and not fetching it back 😂 better bribery than the threat of nothing like a carrot and stick situation ! ( mine are older ! )
It happens to us all at some point finding/ guessing a gift. I'm sure that's not the only thing you got her

KarenfromFinance · 25/11/2017 16:32

Thanks @jamessmumsnet

tararabumdeay · 25/11/2017 20:08
