Where's the nicest wrapping paper this year?

I found some really nice red, green and gold stripped paper in Tkmaxx last year. Matt, not too shiney. They've gone all boring and cartoony this year.

I think I'm more fussy about paper than anything else at Christmas!

Me too!

This year Ive gone for tescos glittery reindeer gift bags for everyone aside from my dc. They will have their wrapped in the corordinating paper which is white with gold spots and a teeny bit of blue.

M&S is nicer than it has been for a few years this year. John Lewis's is lovely.
I got Paperchase as it was on 30% off (M&S 3x2 though) but am disappointed with the quality this year. Might get a few M&S rolls to finish stuff off.

WunWun · 15/11/2017 18:15

Tesco and M&S don't seem to put it on their websites, but I'm loving the John Lewis ones. Thanks!

Me&S have had theirs online but it is mysteriously all “out of stock” right now, I think they may be in the process of restocking atm

Wilkinson’s have got a good selection this year. I’ve got some really nice cream paper with stags on it for the adults and bright red and gold chevron striped for the kids presents.

As I usually end up wrapping Christmas Eve with whatever tat Tesco express has I am inordinately proud of this years wrapping paper.

bilbodog · 15/11/2017 18:28

Paperchase has some fab dinosaur paper.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/11/2017 18:30

I saw some very nice (and a bit different) stuff in TKMaxx, but in about August so how much they'll have now I don't know!

Has anybody seen anything nice with a small print? It's for earrings/cufflinks boxes.

WunWun · 15/11/2017 18:33

I love all of these JL ones

I'm thinking of sheep this year Hmm

Debenhams have some gorgeous purple sets and mint green, they weren’t online last I checked and DP wouldn’t let me buy them at the time as it was too early (September) Hmm
I second Wilkinson’s though and ended up getting mine from there, they have loads of lovely designs this year.

I've just compared John Lewis with the selection from WHSmiths and I think I prefer the latter. Really not impressed with Paperchase this year.

Ricekrispie22 · 15/11/2017 18:42

The White Company have a couple of nice ones, but it's pricey.

WunWun · 15/11/2017 18:47

I went in Debenhams today and couldn't see any paper at all!

Not on the high street have some nice ones but it all seems to be by the sheet and quite expensive.

I wasn't very taken in WH Smith's. I did like the cats and owls with antlers in Paperchase but it didn't seem Christmassy enough.

I have done Cath kidston last couple of years. Not looked at their selection yet.

NumberEightyOne · 15/11/2017 18:48

I like the paper Ikea do.

WunWun · 15/11/2017 18:49

I've actually bought some Ikea paper but have changed my mind on it and might donate it somewhere.

Oh god, I'm now thinking of just ordering the gorgeous JL stuff. Xmas Grin

Jaffalong · 15/11/2017 19:06

Lidl Christmas paper will be released tomorrow and there are some really nice designs in stock. I have the Christmas catalogue and noticed that they have a transparent navy/gold star film which you put over plain paper as an additional embellishment. I think I might pop down and buy a few rolls of that before it runs out.

Jaffalong · 15/11/2017 19:10

Open you could donate the IKEA paper to the salvation army as they wrap acetone of gifts to donate to needy people at Christmas.

OwlKiss · 15/11/2017 19:30

I like Kraft paper wrap - I have seen some nice ones in Oxfam and Cancer Research. Cancer Research also had a tartan print one that I was quite tempted by, and some nice designs for children - including some identical designs in different colours, which would make wrapping stocking presents easier.

Also thought M&S had a nice selection, but I always try and get charity wrap now to make up for not sending Christmas cards (always used to buy charity cards).

Wilko had some beautiful turquoise and gold with spots, matching tags and tape as well. It was lovely.

I bought some grey with White Scandi style stars on in lidl, just nice simple paper for the dc's presents. 5m for £1!!

GoGoGazelle · 15/11/2017 20:21

Robins on a Kraft background

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2017 21:21

I bought some M&S dark blue with a couple of tiny white rabbits/hares running along.
I think the matching bags have a polar bear as well ?

I do tend to buy bags and boxes though rather than paper.

Matalan has a lovely nutcracker set which is good quality. I’ve brought some nice looking ones from Morrison’s but I haven’t used it yet so I’m not sure how good it is yet.
