Hip flasks (why do magazines think men want endless hip flasks?)
Books about gin (look, gin is all very well, but who wants to READ about it?!!)
Scarves, gloves, hats (as I've done these items many times over)
Toiletry sets they won't use
Novelty games, puzzles etc.

I have some very lovely men in my life (BILs, boyfriends of much-loved nieces) and I don't want to burden them with stuff they don't need or want, but I don't know them well enough to say, choose a book for them.

What presents in the £15-20 range can you get for men that are genuinely useful and not gimmicky or purely decorative (as I don't know many men who genuinely want decorative stuff...)?

All ideas received with interest and thanks!

For DF I’ve got posh gin/ a stand which has multiple arms coming off it ending in crocodile clips for doing fiddly indeterminate DIY stuff/ dressing gown ( which is what he asked for- easier with him to get him to send a list)
For DH- have an agreement not to spend very much on each other- t shirt/ heavy duty gardening gloves/ lighter mechanic gloves/ a book . He is into racing drones at the moment but he buys all that stuff himself .

1 I will always remember I think it got deleted I can't find it. But her brother had taken in a nephew. Not long before the OP's child had a birthday and received a Lego set of brother worth about £50. So when a short time later it was the child he had taken in as his own birthday. They got him a DS all the other children in the house had a DS he liked playing on them they wanted him to have his own.

So OP's DC starts winging saying that's not fair. OP thought the child should have had the same amount spent on him. Even though he was living with them full time. They threw in that he had also had a bike bought for him when he went to live with them. The family go on bike rides so of course they didn't want him to be the only family member without a bike. The OP couldn't see that they were wrong and that it was a gift to make him feel equal to the other children in the house.

I think you've put this in the wrong place and it's a zombie thread.

No man, or person, I know would want any of those. Maybe the cinema one at a push.
