This year my 2 year old will be the proud recipient of a Clark's foot measure. The joy it will bring. Every time we go past Clarks we have to go in and she measures her own feet, her brother's feet, my feet, her own feet again... we try not to go by too often as they clearly think I'm mental.

Random things your children have loved?

A full length mirror for my 6 year old son. He loves it

Jenniferturkington · 14/10/2017 19:49

Ds get measuring spoons each year. He's ten now but been obsessed with them since he was a toddler.

Calmanrose · 14/10/2017 19:50

We also have the Clarks show measures!

FlowerTink · 14/10/2017 19:58

Can I ask where you bought the Clarks shoe measure please? DD would LOVE one

Rockhoppperd · 14/10/2017 19:58

A roll of duct tape for my 8 year old - his best present ever

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 14/10/2017 20:05

A red pepper

happy2bhomely · 14/10/2017 20:09

A pineapple.

A squeaky pig dog toy.

The pig is a tradition. She always asks for a micro pig as her main present!

I think blu tac is a brilliant idea!

A feather duster for DS (then 18mths) and a large Stanley tool box when he was 2.

Zaphodsotherhead · 14/10/2017 20:22

I've just bought DD1 a cuddly squid.

I just know she's going to love it, and can't wait to see her face when she opens it - it's lifesize and very realistic, just cuddly!

She's 27.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/10/2017 20:22

DD2 laughed until she cried at the VIPoo advert so I've got a bottle of that for her stocking. She's 18 GrinGrin

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 14/10/2017 20:23

I'm glad my 2 year old isn't the only child who plays with carrots and potatoes. Mostly they don't get as far as the kitchen without being intercepted and piled high in make believe farms. Our home is full of bits of rotten veg now as he hides some of it too.

Anyway sorry for the thread hijack!

starlingsintheslipstream · 14/10/2017 20:23

Love all these quirky things. Just goes to show the best presents don’t always cost a fortune. Ds had a book of raffle tickets because he liked to make his own tombolas.

NormaSnickers · 14/10/2017 20:26

School uniform! About a year before DS was due to start school he matter of factly announced that Father Christmas would bring him school uniform and went on to repeat this over the next few months so he did indeed receive school uniform from FC!

comfyshoelady · 14/10/2017 20:29

I love these, ok might just get the ds's a goody bag full pegs, pastry brushes etc. Got ds his own sellotape dispenser last year (age 5). He used to like taking adaptor plugs to cuddle in bed (yes we took them off him when he was asleep).

Cracklesfire · 14/10/2017 20:34

Wooden spoon
A microfibre extendable duster
Retractable measuring tape

I've just bought him his own penny purse so he'll stop borrowing mine.

OwlKiss · 14/10/2017 20:36

A set of stainless steel drinking straws Confused Best.Present.Ever. and still used daily.

Wheelerdeeler · 14/10/2017 20:40

Mouthwash. Ds wanted it for ages

Rachie1986 · 14/10/2017 20:45

Last yr DD (nearly 3) wanted a real life washing line and pegs. She duly got it from Santa and we put it up in the playroom. It's retractable so she pulls it out and hooks it up to peg up her dolls clothes!!

Ikabod · 14/10/2017 20:50

DD has a Clarks foot measure too. I think it came from Amazon. I bought her a microfibre cleaning mitt from Poundland that she loves.

My brother was given a cardboard box, sellotape, string and a Power Ranger action figure for his 7th birthday. The Power Ranger was quickly forgotten but the other stuff got MONTHS of mileage!

Ebisu · 14/10/2017 20:56

A dog bed! All three of mine love it and pretend to be dogs for hours!

Neverwasapancakegi7l · 14/10/2017 21:22

Flower it was from Amazon. I don't know if you can get them directly from Clarks though as it was dispatched from them - not Amazon - and arrived in a Clarks bag not an Amazon box!

Thank you :)

eyeswideshit · 14/10/2017 22:21

Last year my cousin asked for an air guitar.

He loved it but it was a bugger to wrap up! Grin

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 14/10/2017 22:50

A little set of ladders for DS aged 2 last year

Shemozzle · 15/10/2017 00:22

These are hilarious. My weirdest so far was a chisel for 9 year old DD. It was on her Christmas list. I also bought my 1 year old at the time a broken camera, remote, roll of sellotape, dustpan and brush and a set of uncut keys, as those were the things she was obsessed with.
