What are you planning on getting your DC?

I need ideas please. Instead of starting a thread asking specifically for ideas just for my DC, I thought we could write the age of the DC and what you are planning on getting them in order for it to be useful for everyone :)

Thanks in advance.

10 year old DD is getting an Amazon echo dot, graphics tablet for drawing, swimming my little pony, playmobil pop stage, Tokidoki stuff, Pokemon moon DS game.

4 year old DD is getting an Amazon echo dot (cheaper than replacing sleep medications and story cds) playmobil Ferris wheel, playmobil campervan, awful lol surprise dolls, sylvanian nursery and a baby born doll.

I am completely stumped for the baby who will be 1 Christmas week. We have everything already.

Dd is 8 she's keen on the talking pikachu (which looks annoying!) and she really likes Hama beads so will probably get her some of those.
Ds (4) has a load of hot wheels so am thinking of getting him the ultimate garage. He'd really like the Toilet Trouble or Crocodile Dentist game. He has asked for a toy phone and little live bugs ladybird garden.

2014 my 10 year old didn't want any toys last year but this year has asked for a couple of bits so I'm going with it as I'm sure it will be the last year. What about an Amazon dot? (Good for homework, jokes, alarms, quizzes, any type of music they can imagine) lava lamp, Pop vinyl figures, framed posters, bedding, sewing machine, instruments?

DD 8: Nintendo 2ds, two Lego elves sets - she's getting one of the large sets for her birthday next month so they're add-ons to that. A scrap booking kit and other crafty bits, possibly a monster high family set (bloody overpriced rubbish!) and a selection of books. Have also ordered a sweatshirt onesie type thing from H&M, v cute with cats ears if anyone's looking for "something to wear". Oh and a pug throw I bought for @ a fiver in January and forgot about Grin

DS 6: Nintendo 2ds, a few DC superhero/batman things to add to the bat cave/jail/lair thing he got for his birthday. A k'nex building set tub, various art supplies and a horrid Henry box set. Likely something batman related for his room (watching out for a throw or cushion or something)

Stockings tend to be small items e.g. chocolate, jellies, bubble bath, stickers.

@shemozzle Do you not need the alexa to get the amazon dot? And what does the dot do? Do your kids use it? We have sewing machine, instruments, bikes, camera, phones and just done bedrooms. I don't spend much at xmas or birthdays but have twins so end up with lots if things for the same age group.

DS 9 - Xbox one and Lego boost. Not sure after that (2 pretty pricey things I know but there are reasons for it). Probably a game or two for the Xbox, extra controller and lots of books.

DS (5) is getting;
Playmobil space shuttle
Playmobil LED colour changing ghost (this will be from DD)
Lego Junior Ninjago set
Stormtrooper costume (from Grandparents)
Light-up bubble gun
Imaginext Lex Luthor battle pack
Plus a few stocking fillers

DD (6 months) is getting;
A rubber duck (that I got for 25p in the John Lewis sale!!)
A baby animals board book
Tomy Hide 'n squeak eggs (this will be from DS as he chose them)
A light up star-shape stacker (that belonged to DS - yes, I'm a cheapskate!!)

I'm sure a couple more things will get added along the way, especially if I keep reading this thread!

DS7

Lego advent calendar
Bike
iPod / similar music player
Lava lamp
Knex set
Decent torch
Army top trumps game
Various books (mazes/activity/Lego)

DD5

Playmobil advent calendar
Bike
iPod / similar music player
Glitter lamp
Bush baby
Animal top trumps game
Various books (similar to DS)

I am cutting down on all the "extras for the sake of it" stuff that I have tended to buy in previous years. Trying to go for things they have asked for or that I know they will really like (and use) instead of mountains of stuff to open that doesn't get looked at past Xmas day.

DS6 Lego Nexo Knights
DS1 A ride-on tbc.

We were thinking about a tablet for 6yo but he is so rough with family one we think we should wait another year.

2014 nope, the dot is Alexa! We only have the dot, in the kitchen. It's a smaller version than the echo but it's surprisingly loud enough for music in our kitchen and will be fine for bedrooms. All you need for it to work is wifi, and the Amazon Alexa app. I pay for Amazon music so I can ask for any song I can think of, which is only about £4 a month, but that is optional. My 10 year old really loves it. She's constantly asking it for songs-she's just getting into music big time now.

My 4 year old loves it too but it's not great at picking up her requests. I'm getting one for her too in her room, as she listens to sleep meditations or stories in bed, and there are lots available on Amazon free or cheaper than CD's. She loves listening to Disney songs on it too.

They will be on offer on Black Friday so I'm holding out until then.

DD will be 3 months, but it's our first baby so can't wait for Christmas. Trying not to go too mad. So far have 2 pairs of pyjamas, a Lamaze doll, a snow dog soft toy, some Beatrix potter books and plan on getting a personalised snowman and the snow dog book done. I'd like to say I'll stop there as she will get loads but not so sure I will!
