@DearMrDilkington - It's only the US Toys R Us corp that's filed for bankruptcy, it won't affect European stores as they're owned by a different firm.

tootsieglitterballs · 22/09/2017 09:47

Thread 6... I need to catch up 🙈

DearMrDilkington · 22/09/2017 09:49

TimeForCake · 22/09/2017 09:55

Long time lurker over the last few years and grateful for all ideas & bargains.
Not necessarily a bargain but
@crumbsinthecutlerydrawer
I think you were asking about Science magazines. I can recommend 'Whizz Pop Bang!' For 6-11 yrs I think. Great variety in the content/ activities.

tiggersdontlikehoney · 22/09/2017 10:00

Place marking...

drspouse · 22/09/2017 10:05

@crumbsinthecutlerydrawer We are getting Okido magazine for DS and it's cheaper by Direct Debit on isubscribe.

Wiifitmama · 22/09/2017 10:05

That 3D printing pen seems an amazing bargain but i am trying to work out what age it is suitable for. It obviously gets hot and how easy is it to use?? Has anyone used one or given one before?

endoftheworldasweknowit · 22/09/2017 10:14

wiifit I've just got one for my 3D printing obsessed DS8, but he's a bit chaotic so I think he's going to find it hard/dangerous to use unsupervised but DD7 and I won't Wink

cookiefiend · 22/09/2017 10:21

Sainsbury's are selling off things from their baby sale including this galt pop up toy for £5.33.

It is usually about £8 on amazon. My DC got it age about 1 and it is a firm favourite with people who visit too. Simple, but pleasing.

Thanks for the new thread!

Ness1234 · 22/09/2017 10:26

Highfivehatfart Thanks for the White Stuff Code, it was a White Company Code that I was looking for, I know last year the discount did go up to 25% so if anyone sees one please let me know. Now I'm so tempted to use the White Stuff code, yep, I'm off to look at bags for my sis, thanks again. Also thanks to reastie for new thread.

cookiefiend · 22/09/2017 10:29

Also- last year when I bought Christmas good food it was like £4 or something which is fine, but someone suggested a look at nigellas Christmas recipes and I realised I could buy her Christmas cook book for less than the cost of a magazine- £2.80 delivered (albeit second hand) here- nigella

Nice to browse and think about what we will make.

OhHolyFuck · 22/09/2017 10:33

Thanks to whoever recommended Tinc, got a pencil case and some scented pencils for £3 rather than £15 for ds2s 'buddy' (a year 5 who watched out for him at playtime) and the rubber letters of DSs names for their stockings at 30p each

SockEatingMonster · 22/09/2017 10:35

Thanks for the new thread Reastie Flowers

I'm glad the bungee bouncer was helpful. A little more expensive, but even more fun are these pedal racers at £18.95 plus £3.95 delivery (free if you spend over £35)

Amazing fun, and take my weight easily I certainly don't play on them when the children are at school and I'm meant to be working

@VoldemortsNipple DS has the echo dot (saved up and bought it himself, bless him) and teenaged-DSS has the full-size echo. The big one is a proper speaker and LOUD. The echo is, in my opinion, perfect for a younger child's bedroom as it's still loud enough at top volume for them to have 'bedroom discos', but not so much that you can hear it though 3 closed doors on the other side of the house IYSWIM. They both use it with their spotify subscriptions.

@WhyamIBoredathome DD was 5.5 when we got our bungee bouncer and picked it up instantly. Not sure about 4 years old, but would guess it would be ok. It's so much easier than a pogo stick.

Thank you to whoever recommended Stikbot. I'm hoping it'll be included in the Argos 3 for 2, if it runs.

I've decided against the lego drone for DD (I think she'll get frustrated if she can't fly it properly), but will drop some hints in the hope that someone buys it for me!

Bookpeople 20% off with SEP20

In RL Irish shopping news Mr Price had this Disney animator Anna doll (like a toddler Anna in the green dress) for €14.99, and toddler Elsa dolls for the same price
They had a set of 20 funky pencils with erasers for €6.99 which I'm going to split up among nieces and nephews. Optimus Prime transformer toys for €9.99 (which my nephew would have loved last year but has just grown out of) and moshi monster series seven packs of five moshlings for €1.99 which my dc will be thrilled with.

margarita Hershey's shudder! I consider an act of charity to send some actual chocolate every year. My kids have learned to be very wary of the fabulously packaged stuff she sends them Grin

luckiestgirl · 22/09/2017 10:49

The 3D pen

The free filament pack seems to be out of stock. There's no point buying it without the filament right?

www.tesco.com/direct/disney-cars-3-race-track-mack/414-3991.prd?skuId=414-3991

I saw this this morning in Tesco, sorry I can’t remember who was asking for a Mack. £20 down from £40. The review isn’t good but could have been a dodgy one.

Thank you to TimeForCake and drspouse, I will look up both of those suggestions.

TalkingOrmer · 22/09/2017 12:00

My Debenham's order of the Maltesers arrived today and the expiry date is 3 December 2017 Angry

margaritasbythesea · 22/09/2017 12:07

Annwithnoe - Definitely not a bargain, but imagine if you sent them Leonidas chocolates - this is the US site. DH bought them as a present for me once and I nearly died of pleasure. Then again, you might find them selling their house to buy more.

Actually, might do this for my Aunt. Wow!

Changingagain · 22/09/2017 12:12

There's some nice bits, including Christmas stuff in Ace/Studios happy hour this week. 25% gets taken off in your basket until 2pm today. I particularly like this silver cross dolls pram, comes eith umbrella and changing bag for £18.75
