I don't think I'm remotely difficult to buy for.

I don't want anything big or expensive. I like:

  • earrings with hypoallergenic posts
  • amusing tea towels
  • hand cream
  • cotton scarves (outfit scarves, not winter scarves)
  • Christmas tree decorations
  • Harry Potter / Sherlock / Doctor Who (etc) subtly themed things - last year I had a pendant sonic screwdriver
  • Woolly Hugs yarn

DH thinks I'm impossible to buy for, and he is always asked to make very specific suggestions, so for the past couple of years I've just maintained an Amazon Wishlist from about this time of year onwards.

I'm starting it now and was just wondering what other kinds of token (

@MuddlingThroughLife fingers crossed you get everything on your list.

MrsHathaway · 18/09/2017 18:14

Some lovely ideas.

I spy some other WHers. I suspect you're like me in that people will kindly buy you yarn and not understand that a crochet kit simply isn't equivalent to a few balls of SSDK in WH palettes.

"But that's a rubbish present" is INFURIATING. I love rubbish presents. I want rubbish presents. And YOU ASKED WHAT I WANTED.

I wAnt driving lessons to learn to parallel park, passed my test over twenty years ago and still can't do it 😮 I have to arrive everywhere super early so I can park and friends have helped me more times than I care to remember 🙈

guiltynetter · 18/09/2017 18:33

i never know what to ask for at christmas so i've started my list early this year! i don't really get to buy myself anything (but my DD, 3 is always immaculate 🙄) so far i've got...

  • vans back pack
  • disney couture earrings
  • m&s ultimate sleep cream
  • harry potter pyjamas
  • boots light up mirror
  • benefit foundation
AdoraBell · 18/09/2017 18:33

I actually showered the DC what I wanted last. A leather collar for a ceramic coffee mug I have. Also told DH. No one bought it because it's only 2 quid. And he still tells me I'm difficult to buy for Hmm

This year I find myself wanting a particular thing to hang on a bag, you know those useless fancy bits of frippery. I would be willing to bet it will be "not worth it" so I fully anticipate buying it myself early next year Hmm

ememem84 · 18/09/2017 18:37

Birthday I want:

  • a lovely bottle of wine
  • vouchers for new clothes
  • clarins
  • new pyjamas

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant. Due 4 days before my birthday.

If baby arrives early/on time I'd love something lovely. Just for me. If he's late, I'd like something to look forward to. Just for me

travelmad · 18/09/2017 18:43

christmasunicorn · 19/09/2017 16:51

Currently on slimming world diet so I've asked dh for clothes or clothes vouchers as hopefully I will be at least one size smaller and require a whole new wardrobe.

MrsHathaway · 19/09/2017 18:16

I did Aquafit in the new pool this morning so have added pool socks (for grip).

Oh my glamorous life!

A new purse. Mine doesn't have a wallet-y section, so I store my notes in a zipped bit. But the new notes ping out at me!

FireflyGirl are the converse still available. Do you have a link please? I can't keep up pace with the bargain thread.

WhyamIBoredathome · 20/09/2017 16:55

I am following this for ideas. It's my birthday soon and I've no idea what I want for that, never mind for Christmas.
I'm not really bothered about "stuff", never have been. I can't wear jewellery at the moment as my toddler thanks it's funny to rip it off. I don't have time to read much so so still have books from last Christmas. I've got loads of perfume and I definitely don't need scarves because I already have over 40 where I got loads for presents the last 10 years. I don't even wear scarves unless it's absolutely freezing.

What I would really love is a laundry fairy but don't think I'll be getting one of those in my stocking Grin

I would also love DH so surprise me with something truly special that he's really though about but he is sadly lacking in imagination so it's unlikely. the only thing I've had as a surprise in the last few years (that I didn't tell what him to buy) was a Box Set of CD's. It is an artist I like, but we don't have a CD player Confused

Veronicat · 20/09/2017 17:02

Any of these mugs would be ok.
A Fitbit would be great.
A Seasalt Tiller coat would be fantastic!
(What I really want is a Highland Cow or a Black Nose Valais Sheep).

I never really ask for anything big for Christmas, I'd rather spend the money on our sons or a family day out.

Things I'd be very happy to receive though

Amazon voucher
Wool Warehouse voucher
Clover Amour crochet hooks to complete the set
Anything from the Karma range at Lush
Box of Thornton's Continental
A nice mug

CreativeMumma · 22/09/2017 14:50

I have a Pinterest board for this that I update throughout the year.

Wayfarersonbaby · 22/09/2017 17:41

Oooh! I haven't really thought what I'd like so far. Except that I bought a grey scarf and a couple of bracelets in the Lisa Angel sale ready for either DH or DD to give me at Christmas.

Other than that, I think I'd like:
-- some small silver-coloured earrings (think I may try going back to silver after years of gold);
-- a couple of books;
-- some Raffaello chocs (I used to like expensive chocolate but to be honest, despite all the palm oil, I have a serious weakness for these! Might ask for them from MIL);
-- I'd like a nice print for the living room (from DH maybe?)
-- my parents usually get me my usual perfume which I'm always happy with.

MrsHathaway · 22/09/2017 18:46

This was my aesthetic from last year. Paper was £1 a roll, baubles £1 a dozen, yarn for snowflakes £2.99 for about ten years' worth.

Excuse terrible photo.

Interesting wrapping makes a budget gift feel more luxurious.
