I don't think I'm remotely difficult to buy for.

I don't want anything big or expensive. I like:

  • earrings with hypoallergenic posts
  • amusing tea towels
  • hand cream
  • cotton scarves (outfit scarves, not winter scarves)
  • Christmas tree decorations
  • Harry Potter / Sherlock / Doctor Who (etc) subtly themed things - last year I had a pendant sonic screwdriver
  • Woolly Hugs yarn

DH thinks I'm impossible to buy for, and he is always asked to make very specific suggestions, so for the past couple of years I've just maintained an Amazon Wishlist from about this time of year onwards.

I'm starting it now and was just wondering what other kinds of token (

BiddyPop, I have one somewhere that I bought and have never used. Would you like it? I can try and dig it out if you can make use of it.

I would like
Nina Richie perfume
Molten Brown shower gel and hand wash
A new purse
Pj's
Navy pashmina
I have a birthday before xmas so fairly optimistic

Veronicat - that mug is beautiful.

I would like silver bangles and L'occitane almond body cream. maybe some chunky wool socks too. Dh thinks I'm really hard to buy for but I'm really not. I'd be happy with lovely pyjamas!

What do they MEAN when they say "difficult to buy for"?

I thought my dad was difficult to buy for until I realised he's actually very low maintenance and genuinely does like socks/chocolate/reliable pen/new hankies, far more than he likes fuss or having money spent on him - I think that's where I get it from Grin

I think sometimes "you are hard to buy for" means "I can't easily think of something to get you which sounds really impressive to third parties".

As far as my dh goes, he thinks that he needs to get me something special, when I really would be happy with creature comforts. If every single present I had was almond shower oil, I'd be delighted. Pyjamas - lovely, chocolates - fab, gift vouchers for fabric godmother - best present ever. I thinks it's because he knows I can be picky about colour and style, but doesn't quite get it. For him one blue is the same as another. He should really outsource present buying to my sister, who knows me inside and out. My most favourite gift ever was 3 meters of a lovely floral jersey fabric, from which I made one of my most complimented dresses ever, even now, 4 years on. She did good!

Hi TeeBee,

Thank you that is a lovely offer - but I generally only get camping once a year that is not Cubs, and DD and I tend to veer towards Scouts sites anyway and more "traditional rustic camping". So I really don't think I would get any use out of it.

If I thought I could persuade DH to go for a week or more in France, I'd jump at it - but I really can't see that happening! Grin
