There's so many of these fancy advent calendars around , I keep seeing new ones pop up every day!

Can we have a round up of the best ones / most usual ones etc please - and any experiences you may have on them?!

Tonight I've seen a reeses peanut butter cup one that sounds like heaven to me!

I bought DH the WERA tool one last year and it was EXCELLENT!!
We have fitted the rack and screwdrivers inside a kitchen cupboard and it's really good quality

Just bought this years, they offered it to me early as a previous purchaser, think it's released next week?

Is there a nice lush type one or a stationery one for a girl aged 10 out there for around £20 pls? (faint hope!)

Unicorn81 · 12/09/2017 18:33

Bomb cosmetics do one, they are nice although i would prefer them without the soaps but under 20

yorkshireyummymummy · 12/09/2017 18:53

Mithervulva from memory last years l'occitanre one was £35/40. I know it sold out in 3.2 seconds or something equally silly. You can get in the emailing list so you know when it's coming out of you go in their website.

Has anyone had a Molton Brown one before? I have dropped so many hints over the years for a decent advent calendar but it would seem I am only good for buying others.

So this year, sod them all, I'll buy my own and they are having a cheap one! I want the best...or at least one that's going to make me feel bloody special every day in December :)

I was browsing advent calendars on Amazon last night and came across this very cute eraser one. It's the type of thing I would have loved as a stationery loving child. Don't know if it could be a good alternative to a Smiggle/Tinc calendar?

Has anyone tried the Beer Hawk one? I just bought one for DH, so I hope it's good! £65, with a 10% code for signing up to their newsletter.

tootsieglitterballs · 14/09/2017 18:20

@RueDeWakening I haven't had it, but thought it looked great. I actually thought of doing my own version of it for DH this year - if I could get all the beers / ciders etc on 3 for £5 like they normally are in our supermarkets, it would only be approx £40!

I don't have any of the chocolate present ones. We have one where there is a felt figure each day to stick onto a nativity scene and one reusable old-fashioned picture one which I've had since I was 18.

And then every year we download the Jacquie Lawson calendar, which has a simple festive game or activity or animation each day.

Taffeta · 03/10/2017 11:14

I've just bought a gorgeous old fashioned pictures only one from JL. It's a Victorian Coppenrath wreath one.

DC are tween & teen and they take it in turns to open the doors.

Ginorchoc · 03/10/2017 15:33

Biscuiteer one looked gorgeous however £100 for both Shock

user1495020658 · 03/10/2017 19:15

Any ideas for a pre-teen boy please? Most seem to be aimed at girls - make up etc!

Unicorn81 · 03/10/2017 20:09

The hanes build your own radio for teen boy?

ImNotReallyHere · 04/10/2017 12:18

I'm also looking for one for a 13 year old boy (no longer into Lego). There's loads of choice for DD but very little out there for boys. We tried the Haynes radio one last year but he lost interest waiting for parts and the small bits got lost so it never got built.

macnab · 04/10/2017 12:37

Someone on the Christmas Bargains thread (the latest one) linked to these advent calendars and I'm definitely going to get them. My kids are a bit too old for the playmobil and lego ones and I'd rather not have chocolate ones. But they are both quite 'crafty' and I think they'll love assembling all the pieces each day. I'm going to get the treehouse and the log cabin one. Great value IMO
