There's so many of these fancy advent calendars around , I keep seeing new ones pop up every day!

Can we have a round up of the best ones / most usual ones etc please - and any experiences you may have on them?!

Tonight I've seen a reeses peanut butter cup one that sounds like heaven to me!

This year one of the Playmobil calendars is a bank robbery theme. Best thing ever. Grin

I had the Aldi one last year. It was rubbish. This year referring back to cloth fill-your-own Ines (£6 from home bargains).

I have a lot of skincare samples I've saved up, if I put them in an advent calendar they're more likely to be usedSmile. In OH's I tend to put a mixture of miniature whiskey/port bottles, nice chocolates etc.

I've just ordered ds3 the happyland advent calendar. Early I know but I remember it selling out really quickly last year so I never got hold of one.
Ds1 will get Lego, ds2 playmobil and dd will get a makeup one when boots do their 3for2. Dh possibly Haynes radio one but I know he'd love a male skincare calendar so hopefully one will come out for him closer to the time.
I had no7 last year and loved it. Would like the spacenk calendar this year which is, technically, free. Just as long as you ignore the £250 spend to get it free

@Soubriquet elc are doing a big city advent calendar here not quite a car every day but very close as there looks like there is 18 vehicles

NoWordForFluffy · 02/09/2017 20:00

I've got the Megabloks Minions one for the DC (one each!). We also have wooden ones which you can fill yourself. The drawers are teeny though, so I buy small chocolates to go in them, two per drawer, and they take turns to open the drawer (and they really enjoy it too; DD is already excited about this year's!).

I have had the Gisela Graham Christmas Tree Advent Calendar for the last 5 years now and its great. Only £14.99 at amazon at the moment. pockets are a good size for a coin and toy.

MyHouse2011 · 02/09/2017 20:35

ChristmasUnicorn I'm sure I saw an article about Clarins or Clinique doing a men's toiletries advent calendar.

BeyondThePage · 02/09/2017 20:42

I made a fill your own fabric one from a printed fabric sheet - but just put a chocolate coin each each day for the kids in it.

I also always have a yankee candle one.

Thanks for the Reeses tip off.

In past years I have done extensive making ones - so one year they gradually got all the pieces to make a mosaic tea light holder (blue or red plus mirror mini tiles), another year the pieces to sew a patchwork cushion (on the machine - they turned out lovely, christmas fabrics with a red zip and a calico backing), another year the pieces to sew a christmas teddy (from one of those 'cut out from a printed sheet' things you can get), charm bracelets one year. The tradition stopped last year, as dds getting older, so I brought over priced candle and beauty ones instead.

youngestisapsycho · 02/09/2017 20:49

I bought DD the Sanctaury one from Boots last year.... that was a nice one.

cherrypez · 02/09/2017 21:21

Those who have seen the Tsum Tsum one...where please?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/09/2017 21:44

For at least the past three years, I have had th John Lewis gingerbread biscuit advent calendar, and I will be getting one this year too, as long as they are still doing it.

StewPots · 03/09/2017 08:51

Ooh watching with interest. I had the Benefit one last year, which was good but I still have loads of minis left so no point getting it again this year!

I want to get DD the Yankee Candle one, are they any good for the price?

Soubriquet · 03/09/2017 08:56

Thank you christmasunicorn I'll check it out.

Tsum tsum calendars were available on the Disney website

Unicorn81 · 03/09/2017 12:20

I wasnt impressed with the yankee one, i prefer the larger candles or wax melts. Can never smell the tea lights but thats maybe just me

BeyondThePage · 03/09/2017 12:45

I like the yankee candle one - but never buy it full price (about £22-25) - often Clintons or Boots get a special Yankee design just for them and they put them in their 3 for 2 Christmas offers.

weeblueberry · 03/09/2017 13:19

I've had the Yankee one the last few years and like it. Prefer the tea light version though-never got through all the tarts during December

Unicorn81 · 03/09/2017 17:57

What do people think about playmobil vs lego for DS (4); he likes both, had lego one last year, playmobil seems like it would be better value for money?

Titsywoo · 03/09/2017 18:27

DH has bought me the sparkling wine one this year. Bit bloody expensive but he is feeling a bit flush at the moment!

luckylavender · 03/09/2017 18:40

I got a Yankee one a couple of years ago & found it a bit high maintenance.

chicaguapa · 03/09/2017 19:03

I saw on another thread that someone got a Tsum Tsum advent calendars in Costco.
