Thanks tatty

kwack ds would love that putty but £13.99?!

Kwackerly · 26/08/2017 15:19

Haudyer, I know! I'm going to keep watching it in the hope it goes down in price! It's really hard finding stuff for his age though so I though I'd put it on... I will post if I do see it reduced!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 26/08/2017 15:51

DD5 had decided she likes her friends Generation Doll. I find the thing terrifying but what sort of price would make it a good deal??

LexieLulu · 26/08/2017 16:39

I went into symths today and Thomas the tank minis are buy one get one free (I think they are £2-£2.50 each). My soon to be 4 year old has loved these for last year or so. If you have a 3/4/5 year old they are cracking stocking fillers

penstemon · 26/08/2017 16:42

Coding mouse also bought. That means the DC will be having PlayMags and that. I think I should get them some frivolous presents too!

Annwithnoe · 26/08/2017 16:59

Girlwiththeyellowhat
There are basically two types of doll: one comes with a storybook about the doll and some extra accessories. Normally about £35
The other is just a doll, no book, no accessories apart from what she's already wearing. Normally around £27
Easy to get caught thinking you're getting a better bargain than you actually are.
Might be worth just gently sussing out whether she's aware/expecting the storybook (which really isn't anything great imo)
Extra outfits are about £13

Haudyerwheesht · 26/08/2017 17:00

Totally agree kwark such a difficult age to buy for - ds turns 11 at Xmas too so apart from a phone I've no real idea. It's hard because his sister is still young enough that her presents are huge for not that much money. E.g. Phone costs fortune, looks teeny. Barbie house - second hand , cost £25, looks enormous!

Tattybogle89 · 26/08/2017 17:08

Fitbit charge 2 small/large diff colours £99 at Tesco direct with code TDX-HYTP

SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 17:18

I used your cornerstone link @TellMeItsNotTrue to buy a razor for DH's birthday, thank you (here's my cornerstone link for £10 off if it's ok to post it here?)

I also received a load of stuff I had ordered from Aliexpress for DD's 18" Designafriend doll. I think they'd fit any of the 18" dolls like American Girl etc. Prices vary, so I have posted what I paid when I bought them about 3 weeks ago. You may need to shop around with other sellers to get the same prices now. Ordering from the mobile app is sometimes cheaper too (no idea why!)

The black patent school shoes from this listing for £2.04. The quality is better than some of DD's actual shoes. I will be ordering some of the other styles.

Knicker and crop top set £1.47. Fantastic quality.

The blue Lilo and Stitch backpack from this listing, was £2.25 when I bought it. Again, amazing quality. Two zippered compartments and you can even adjust the shoulder straps like on a real backpack.

This outfit currently at £3.96 but I paid £2.62. The leggings are excellent quality. The shorts look different to how I expected (longer and wider) but, again, excellent quality. The top is disappointing as I have expected it to be cotton, instead of the sort of shiny lycra type fabric it is in. Still, well made and well worth the price.

I also ordered some Nerf-style bullet storage bags which I am very pleased with:

This large bullet bag that doubles as a target I paid £6.60, but I think I've seen them for less on eBay.

Smaller bullet bag £2.92

I have ordered these multicoloured bullets for £2.90 and this wrist bullet holder for 54p which both look good but have yet to arrive.

PS. I managed to post this on the Christmas countdown thread by accident. In case anyone wonders why they've seen it twice Blush

Another bargain...

4 felt Gisela Graham 'London' tree decorations for £3.49 inc p&p. I thought that the seller had made a pricing error (price for all 4 is the same as the price for each individual decoration), put it in my basket meaning to query it, then accidentally checked it out along with a some other things a few days later. Anyway, the seller sent all 4 and hasn't modified the listing, so I think it's ok to share it.

You have to select 'all 4' from the drop down menu.

PamelaEwing · 26/08/2017 17:32

Just heard on the radio that there is a public outcry about the Lidl 6 for £20 Prosecco deal! Apparently Lidl were totally unprepared for the onslaught and simply hadn't enough stock in their stores to cope with the demand!! Shock

Theimpossiblegirl · 26/08/2017 17:43

Thanks Sockeatingmonster- they are perfect for my American cousin's hamper. I send chocolate and any London bits I can gather along the way.

Not Christmassy at all, but in the spirit of saving money so we can buy more presents, Bearfaced are doing an extra 20% off their already reduced meat hampers using BHol20. Using my referral link also gets us both £10 off a meat/fruit/veg box. I've used them before to stock up my freezer, they are really good at the reduced price, a little expensive full price.
My link

tootsieglitterballs · 26/08/2017 18:05

@LexieLulu that's amazing - thanks for sharing! I was wondering about getting a couple of these for his stocking!

Reastie · 26/08/2017 18:08

Thanks sock, I've just bought some. Not sure if I'll keep them for our tree or give them as presents or use them as decoration on the ribbon when I decorate the presents.

FireflyGirl · 26/08/2017 18:17

Drat, you lot have bought all the decorations! Xmas Grin Oh well, I didn't need them I suppose.

OhHolyFuck · 26/08/2017 18:18

sockeatingmonster a thanks from me too
Some friends of mine love London (got married in there and they go whenever they can) so they're a lovely little gift

SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 18:18

They're really lovely, they have a little bell somewhere in them so jingle too.

SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 18:20

Sorry you missed them OhHolyFuck

I'm always looking for new decorations going to need a second tree this year so will post other bargains as I find them...

SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 18:20

*Fireflygirl not OhHolyFuck!

OhHolyFuck · 26/08/2017 18:20

Are they pot or plastic sock? And how do they come, trying to think if I'll need a nice box or something for them too?

Llamacorn · 26/08/2017 18:26

sock thanks very much for listing about the 18" doll clothes, it feels like im forever buying outfits for dds American girl doll or sewing them out of my old pyjamas
I've never used Ali express before, am I better downloading the app? When I go on, everything is in dollars is that correct? It does say $4 off for new customers, dd would love that little stitch backpack for her doll.

BuffyFairy · 26/08/2017 18:35

Thanks for the JoJo code. My DD has asked for a scooter. I can't believe you found one that worked on the Micro scooters!

countingdown · 26/08/2017 18:37

Firefly try the decorations again. When I tried 10 minutes ago they'd sold out but I had a look again just now and have been able to order a set.
Thanks SockEating for the link.

SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 18:37

Here's a photo of mine @OhHolyFuck

They came loose, but with tags attached. They are made of felt and padded in the middle.

Christmas bargain thread 3 - I'm back!
SockEatingMonster · 26/08/2017 18:43

I set my Aliexpress account up on my laptop @Llamacorn. You can set the country to UK (to select only sellers who'll post to the UK) and the currency to GBP. I later downloaded the app and signed in with it. Everything comes up in £ when I use the app. I've been using it about 3 years now I think.

The money off coupons are often not as good as they seem though. It's usually a case of 'spend $25 with this seller and get $1 off' type offers. Great if you were buying something anyway, but not necessarily an incentive in itself. I don't know what the $4 coupon is for though, so that might be better.
