Yes unfortunateevents I also wanted to know from people if the Smiggle calendars are worth it as I saw someone on another thread say they were disappointing for the price? Any views?

FoofFighter · 31/08/2017 21:27

@reastie it is looking to be terminal yes Sad

It will take a chunk out of my finances because I am PAYG still and not actually had to buy a phone for ages as got gifted the iphone 18 months ago when a mate upgraded. I don't do contracts as don't use it enough to justify the price. Hoping the advice from the other day about Game selling decent refurbs is good advice, as that's where I shall have to look tomorrow

imsorryiasked · 31/08/2017 21:27

including the Tall Mall for £29.99

imsorryiasked · 31/08/2017 21:28

*shopkins tall mall

TheNotSoGoodWife · 31/08/2017 21:29

Dc1 had the Smiggle calender - although she was 15 last year, she does like a bit of nice stationery and was happy to share bits with younger siblings. We were really disappointed though, it wasn't useful bits and the YoYo was broken within a day etc.

Fandabidozy · 31/08/2017 21:40

There were big threads on here last year about the dire Smiggle calender, in particular the crappy yo-yo!

imsorryiasked · 31/08/2017 21:42

Barbie Dreamtopia castle £51.99

VinoTime · 31/08/2017 21:42

You can get 15% off at Smiggle (including the calendars, making them £21.25 each) using code welcome817, but they can fuck right off if they think I'm giving them £4.50 delivery for anything weighing less than an goddamn elephant.

I'm on the reasonably priced stationary calendar hunt!

ThomasRichard · 31/08/2017 21:44

Hello everyone! Has anyone told you it's still August just? Wink I'm on the lookout for bargainous Molton Brown/L'Occitane/Elemis/similarly posh brand liquid hand soap if anyone spots something.

RJnomore1 · 31/08/2017 21:47

Didn't the works do a stationery calendar last year too?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 31/08/2017 21:51

Yes! Thanks @PicardsCombOver 😘

EnglishRose1320 · 31/08/2017 22:03

Yes I believe the works do a stationary calendar and also tinc do one which seems to get much better reviews than smiggle.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 31/08/2017 22:03

Who was after moshi monster stuff?

duvet

watch

ScarlettDarling · 31/08/2017 22:04

These animal messenger bags from Aliexpress are great for kids. My 10 year old will love it for taking her stuff to gymnastics. Only £4.95! Loads of designs.

VinoTime · 31/08/2017 22:05

RJ yes, I think it was the Scribblicious one, or something similar to it. Can't remember the original price of them, but The Works always have a discount code going with free delivery.

I loathe p+p charges!

FireflyGirl · 31/08/2017 22:09

Being in wholehearted agreement, I nominate Vino's:
'they can fuck right off if they think I'm giving them £4.50 delivery for anything weighing less than an goddamn elephant'
for next thread title Grin

I was commenting on the Entertainer calling it mega, BTW llama, sorry if you thought I meant you Flowers

I agree so much, I've posted twice Blush

Polkadot1974 · 31/08/2017 22:10

Can anyone re post the Ness link please?

Annwithnoe · 31/08/2017 22:20

imsorryiasked I think dd would love that dress and more importantly I think I can live with it

girlwiththeyellowhat thanks for the moshi links

I know dd would love the idea of a smiggle advent calendar but last year's schleich fairy one was such a let down I don't want her to be disappointed again, especially when her brothers will be thrilled with every crappy piece of Lego that comes out of theirs.

VoldemortsNipple · 31/08/2017 22:21

kinetic sand reduced to £3.25 a bag on Tesco Direct

Polkadot1974 · 31/08/2017 22:28

Also best fit bit price? I just tried opening a very account as I found a voucher for £30 off first credit spend but it didn't work. Boo!! And I get it's a credit check on my file too. I'm cross!

d270r0 · 31/08/2017 22:29

Those of you after a good stationary advent calendar- Mrs Brimbles does them, they are £25.99 so a bit more expensive but you actually get really decent stuff in them. Each item is wrapped up, numbered and put in a box. I think ideal for teenagers or adults, possibly not young kids though. I want one for myself! Look at the photos in the link to see the sort of stuff you get in them.

FireflyGirl · 31/08/2017 22:30

Ann - could you do her a homemade one, using the kawaii links that have been posted on here? That way you know that she won't be disappointed.

d270r0 · 31/08/2017 22:34

Ah sorry- you have to pay £4.50 shipping on the Mrs Brimbles boxes so the full cost is actually £30.49. Still only about £1.20 per item so prob still decent value.
