Can I ask a big favour, as someone who made friends with you all on here last year (this is a temporary name because the thread is identifying) and is following again this year, if you have a moment free can you just give me a bump OVER HERE

Trying to collect as many McDonald's emoji toys as possible for a lovely little boy who is 8, he has autism and is non-verbal, he has taken a big interest in emojis and when he likes something thats it he likes it for life so we need to collect as much as possible now before the craze wears off and it's harder to find

Llamacorn · 25/08/2017 09:08

sos definitely a good idea, doesn't really matter how long they are as hey can cuddle them under their chin or have them flipping over their feet - no such thing as a blanket that's too big Grin

find sorry I haven't read the other thread, are the emoji toys the ones they are currently giving out? If so then you can buy the toys without buying the meal, for £1. Perhaps even worth writing to your local manager, or contacting head office explaining why you are collecting them and hopefully they will help! My dd is autistic and she was obsessed with dc girls toys, before they were released I emailed Mattel just basically thanking them for bringing out superhero toys that featured girls as the main characters and they sent my dd a huge parcel worth a couple of hundred pounds - she had the biggest smile ever, and I cried!!

Haudyerwheesht · 25/08/2017 09:13

B&m have the mini hatchinals for £4.99 and the my little pony action ponies for £3.99.

WreckTangled · 25/08/2017 09:15

Just sing with microphone back down to £9.99 on amazon!

margaritasbythesea · 25/08/2017 09:23

Off topic, but can anyone recommend a big strong school backpack, please? I have ordered a couple (Gap, M & S) and sent them back because they look so weedy. If it had Star Wars on it that would be a bonus. If it was a bargain it would be a bigger bonus!

NextInLine · 25/08/2017 09:40

Beer 52 are doing an offer for their first case for free, so upyou just pay £5.95 postage for 8 beers+snack.
It says you can cancel at anytime. My code added automatically but it was flavfree

VinoTime · 25/08/2017 09:41

Soslowmo the unicorn colouring book is lovely.

If you've got, or know, a unicorn lover, I would also highly recommend this Magical History of Unicorns book. It is absolutely stunning. My 10 year old DD is unicorn daft and I can already see her lying across her bed pouring over the pictures and all of the information. It's not a 'heavy' read, but it does give you a look at where unicorns have appeared through the ages in fairy tales, poems and legends, etc. The Shakespeare quote on the back sold it for me - I'm a sucker for old Will Grin

Mermaid blankets - I raked through my emails for Christmas presents I bought last year and found my Twinkle Deals confirmation. DD's mermaid blanket was beautiful. The mixed colour crochet pattern looked like real fish scales Smile Think I paid around £13 in the sale for it. There seems to be loads more variety this year from lots of different sites, but figured another option couldn't hurt!

VinoTime · 25/08/2017 10:09

Just having a good scout about on the Twinkle Deals sale pages and they actually have some beautiful scarfs and jewellery bits for pennies.

Don't know if anybody else's DD's have asked about the butterfly scarves yet (shaped and patterned like butterfly wings, so when you hold your arms out wide, the scarf falls down your back like wings) but TD have this one for £3.74. Some of the ones on Etsy are selling for £30-40! Shock There are more of them here.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 25/08/2017 10:10

I think I've missed the link for the unicorn colouring book if anyone would be so kind?

Glad the cuski link has come in handy! I'm going to order yet another one for DD for her stocking and one for my husband as he keeps trying to steal hers for the label to fiddle with 😆

FireflyGirl · 25/08/2017 10:24

vino I'm looking at those scarves for a 7 and 8 year old, but I just can't seem to grasp how they are scarves... Are they more like shawls than scarves, or am I being dense?

VinoTime · 25/08/2017 12:10

FireflyGirl I think it depends on the style you go for! I've ordered the £3.74 one that I linked for DD and as far as I can see (and read from the reviews) it's a large scarf - kind of like a wrap/shawl. So you can drape a little of it sort of over your shoulders the way you would with a pashmina, perhaps, and it will look wing-like at the back. Honestly, I'm kind of waiting until it's here to fully suss it out! I think you can buy ones with sleeves or arm loops, but I wanted one DD could use either as a wrap or a scarf - multi-purpose, if you will Grin

Soslowmo it was big enough for me and I always steal it so yes, would definitely fit your 14 year old. DD was 9 last Christmas, so I think it would be fine for your littlest. They are lovely and snuggly. Best way to do it is to look at the pictures - some are clearly being worn by adults and some by kids. Order the long, adult ones and you can't go far wrong. This was the one I got for DD although it's a little more than I paid last year.

VinoTime · 25/08/2017 12:19

Ginger keep calm and colour unicorns colouring book £2.00 on Amazon. It's also £2 at The Works - here is the clicky link - who are doing 20% off £20 orders (if you see anything else you wanted from there).

SideOrderofSprouts · 25/08/2017 12:39

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 25/08/2017 12:52

Doll with 12 sounds

bunningsbunny · 25/08/2017 12:58

margaritas I can recommend the Jeep Elbert rucksack.

I got one for ds1 5 years ago, he carries way too much stuff around in it and it finally gave in a couple of weeks before the end of last term.

I originally got it from TK Maxx for about £20, instead of about £40 - having looked around and found nothing similar (he liked that there was a big pocket, a document pocket and a front pocket, 2 drinks pockets, top and front handles and that you could tighten if needs be) I checked on ebay and managed to get him one for £14 which was identical to before, same tags, same strong stuff, looks like it will last well.

There are other jeep backpacks that aren't as strong or well designed so I was careful to order the one that he had previously had rather than any old jeep bag, some seem very thin and price doesn't seem to be a good indicator.

Cheapest one on ebay at the moment seems to be £20 - haven't had a chance to look elsewhere to see if it's any cheaper.

(and I'm typing this up and the adverts on the side of the page are now trying to sell me a Jeep Renegade 4x4 Grin)

Carrie76 · 25/08/2017 13:03

@margaritas I just got a cars rucksack for my guy from Disney well impressed with it. Seems good and sturdy and plenty of room rucksack
