Let's carry on here until we can sort a proper one.

imsorryiasked · 23/08/2017 09:05

Schleich are doing a farm animal one which is available to pre order now Farm world calendar although the are several different ones available on amazon from previous years including horses, and fairies

Tattybogle89 · 23/08/2017 09:19

Sorry I notice my links come up long sometimes not t sure how to shorten them. Also not sure what you mean about being my links , they are bargains I've found usually through different bargain sites hot U.K. Deals etc .
Didn't realise this was an issue

Just trying to help

Tattybogle89 · 23/08/2017 09:21

Just re read- no I'm not earning commission what the hell?!
Didn't know that was even a thing.

Just liked sharing a bargain 🙁

ponygirlcurtis · 23/08/2017 09:29

L'Occitane has a flash sale on, up to 50% off.

d270r0 · 23/08/2017 09:45

Tatty don't worry about the links, please don't stop posting! We know they aren't your affiliate links. Also last year mumsnet came on and admitted that they add their own to some of our links. As long as peple aren't deliberately making their own without saying (which you obviously aren't) I can't see its a problem.

To make links shorter, you put 2 then paste your link, leave 1 space then type what you'd like to say, then

Whateveryouwanttowrite

Llamacorn · 23/08/2017 09:46

Aw don't worry tatty I don't think anyone thought that you were trying to earn commission, just that sometimes when people post links on hot deals or playpennies they put their affiliate links on so think it was just to make you aware.
To do short links, if you type then paste the link, put a space and then write the word you want to shorten it to followed by
I'm not sure if that stops them being affiliate links though, im not sure how to check.

d270r0 · 23/08/2017 09:46

That didn't work

So [[Pastedlink Whateveryou want to write]

But 2 square brackets at the end, not 1

FireflyGirl · 23/08/2017 09:47

tatty have PM'd you

I got a Boden voucher through earlier this week, so for anyone else who usually gets one, keep an eye out. Used it to buy DS 2 t-shirts in the sale, coming to a grand total of 80p delivered, on which Quidco advises me I will receive 32p cashback. So, 2 Boden t-shirts for 48p.

Thank you Johnny Grin

Sorry if this has already been posted but there are some bargains in the Swarovski outlet site- got my sister a bracelet reduced to £20.50 from £69
Swarovski

FireflyGirl · 23/08/2017 09:50

llama I don't see how it can stop them being affiliate links - the wording still stays exactly the same, so you're still going to exactly the same place whether it's a long link or a short link?

Unless anyone knows differently?

christmasunicorn · 23/08/2017 09:57

Don't worry @Tattybogle89 I love your links and didn't even think about being affiliate. Not that I'd care if they were, if your finding us a bargain and saving us pennies then your are welcome to commission for it, as is anyone else.

Fucking scrooges already trying to ruin the Christmas spirit

GeillisTheWitch · 23/08/2017 10:03

Home bargains has these Barbie "career" outfits for £1.99 each, picked up a couple for stocking fillers.

Thank you Dillie! Was planning on spending £70 on a bracelet for my Best Friend and the exact one is there for £30! Thrilled!

Tattybogle89 · 23/08/2017 10:30

Thanks guys.
Il try post shorter links then. I don't know anything about affiliates and mumsnet are free to look into links if need be.. just have a huge family and post what bargains I found useful for me.

@Annwithnoe pandora outlet link

Tattybogle89 · 23/08/2017 10:31

Woo hoo I made my first clicky link 🤗

Llamacorn · 23/08/2017 10:32

I think you're right firefly, just takes you to the same place. I didn't know what you meant by you clean them up to maybe just picked you up wrong. I didn't realise re affiliate links either, thought it was just through things like cornerstone etc where you get a referral fee.
Doesn't bother me anyway, we're all a fab lot getting good bargains Grin

Whoever asked about the asda tshirt sizing I think they're quite big made. Hubby is a slim 6'2 and wears a large in most places, but if anything from Asda (especially jammies) I have to try and gauge a size as the large can be quite wide fitting.

ridingsixwhitehorses · 23/08/2017 11:06

Regression - re charm bracelets. I buy dd a charm every bday and going to make into bracelet when she is older. I get vintage sterling silver ones on eBay and they reflect the year e.g. An ABC the gear she started school and a seashell the year we spent a lot of time on the beach.

Gooseysgirl · 23/08/2017 11:09

Pony thanks for L'Occitane tip off for flash sale... stuff is going fast!! Two handcreams disappeared from my basket while I was checking out Shock

Tattybogle89 · 23/08/2017 11:26

Amazon have lovely sterling silver and Swarovski earrings reduced to £5.50 (plus gift box, and £2 off if you buy 3 items)

Says reduced from £54.. and with over 1700 good reviews seems a decent buy!

Changingagain · 23/08/2017 11:57

I don't care either way with the affiliated links but would like to understand them better. So, wornoutboots has posted those Amazon links above, is the tag=mumsnetforum-21 on the end the affiliate bit? Presumably giving MN commission in this case?

wornoutboots · 23/08/2017 12:04

mumsnet adds them. they weren't there when I posted

wornoutboots · 23/08/2017 12:06

the "?tag=mumsnetforum-21" is the result of posting on MN

FireflyGirl · 23/08/2017 12:07

wornout how could you miss these ones Shock

Personalised Bake Off advent calendars, only £12.98 Grin Grin

Changing I don't really know how it works either, but I think if there is a mention in the actual link of another site (eg Mumsnet as above), then I do believe that it's an affiliate link. MN admitted last year that they changed some of our links to affiliate links, without telling whoever posted them. A lot of people also don't know about affiliate links; I didn't until I joined these boards.

When I say I post clean links, what I mean is, if there's a bargain in Argos that I find through a site with affiliate links, then I will go directly to Argos, find the product and then post the direct link I have just created, so no affiliate.
