Wow, prequel is all filled up and it's not even august!

So I will start a new op at some point but since it's only July and things will be slower the links will portably be out of date by the time the next thread starts so I'll save that for later.

Welcome everyone to Christmas Bargain Central, a place to post and share ideas and offers .

Anyone got any tips on where to get cheap bath toys for a 2 year old or 5 year old. I want to do a bath toy advent this year

Vistaverde · 01/08/2017 12:49

Just spotted some cute Christmas socks on Ebay. Age 4 - 6 only though

FireflyGirl · 01/08/2017 13:07

Doodle the pound shops do things like bath crayons and boats and ducks, if that's the sort of thing you're looking for?

Tattybogle89 · 01/08/2017 13:14

MooPointCowsOpinion · 01/08/2017 13:50

Thanks to whoever recommended the £5 breaking bad comfy trousers, that's an awesome present for my DH Grin

DrablittleCrab · 01/08/2017 14:11

Hi everyone, checking in for the millionth it feels like bargain thread! Serial name changer but I've been on for the last three years at least and I'm very greatful to Chips (can't get used to calling you sprouts sorry!) and Reastie for their hard work keeping the threads going.

Just been on the Lisa Angel site and they have some gorgeous bracelets. I may have purchased 4 or 5 with the idea that one will go to dds keyworker as she is leaving nursery this month. Thankfully we have the same first name initial so I will just have to keep the personalised ones I don't give to her. Oh well!

wornoutboots · 01/08/2017 14:24

we ordered from toysforapound.com/ and it came, so a site for stocking fillers to save having to go to the pound shop in person.
you can pay by paypal too which is good

wornoutboots · 01/08/2017 14:29

I'm serously considering toysforapound.com/collections/new-in/products/pixl-interactive-digital-toy even though we don't need them

I don't mind a £1 thing extra, they're still around £6 on amazon

SnowBodyforrrrm · 01/08/2017 14:31

Perhaps not a Christmas bargain but an autumn/winter bargain, I was tempted by these for my twins from Boden last winter but at £60 a pair I couldn't bring myself to splurge. Yesterday I found them in my local TK Maxx for £16.99. They had lots of sizes on the shelves so I'd imagine they have been put out relatively recently...

Soslowmo · 01/08/2017 14:59

My 2 'shout' games arrived today. I put another 3 in my amazon basket (at the amazing prize of £4.18 each) and just looked again and it's back up to £14.99 🤦🏼‍♀️

MelinaMercury · 01/08/2017 15:14

I had another 2 parcels arrive today I'm fairly big brown boxes... Both DS and DD were snooping as I told them it was just some bits and pieces. Not entirely sure the 11yo is convinced Hmm:o

Soslowmo · 01/08/2017 15:21

shout is back down to £4.48!!!

MelinaMercury · 01/08/2017 15:22

m.debenhams.com/women/watches/radley

Radley watches at Debenhams with 70% off but will go fast! Some lovely ones for as little as £28.50 Shock

GinYummy · 01/08/2017 15:48

clementine i bought one at the beginning of July. I also had a strange look from the delivery driver!
It is a thing of beauty. Of course I had to assemble it o make sure it was not damaged in transit....
The lights on it are really lovely, not too brightfor a LED lit tree.

Wait4nothing · 01/08/2017 16:00

I got my first Christmas present today - finding dory bath squirters - 59p each in Home Bargains (they had 4 or 5 different characters available).
Might be useful Doodle
I also got finding nemo collectible figure for 29p - would be good for advent calendars but mine is to go into her travel toys (small things I don't mind if they go missing!) - you can see which one through a small window so you could choose which ones you get

ja9r · 01/08/2017 16:01

Using chilled holiday time to make a start... I find the children's bargains are plentiful but no matter how early I start I'm always left with teen boys and the men in the family...

I'd love bargains... but it's cool ideas I really need.

Also, lots of the girls I buy for are now preteen so past kiddie stuff but not quite make up and handbag stage. Books/ story cds yes... any other ideas?

Bargains I've sniffles so far have been from Argos 3 for 2 and some of the amazon ones linked earlier. Big thanks! I'm also benefitting from 2 groups on FB which I'd recommend- Bargain Buys for Busy Mums and Bargain Hunters- don't get stuffed by Christmas.

wornoutboots · 01/08/2017 16:08

ja9r I am on them, and a few others. I tend to post here and B.F.G. - Bargains Finders Group

my preteen niece loves craft stuff and jewellery if that's any help

ClementineWardrobe · 01/08/2017 16:22

@ginyummy I 'checked mine for delivery damage' last night too. Got that first big rush of 'Christmas is coming' feeling. My dogs were a bit rattled by it though.

Trollspoopglitter · 01/08/2017 16:35

Hugely recommend David Sales website for stocking fillers and even main gifts - wholesale but open to public and no minimum quantity to buy. They have an entire Christmas section including wrapped grotto toys, if you're planning on doing a school fayre.

We use them for party gift bag supplies

Huge hits have been inflatables and bubble wands so far.

Inflatable sword and shield for 1.45+vat sells for 5 on Amazon
24 bubble wands for £8.88+vat usually these are around the pound mark

Colour your own pencil case under a pound

100 pack of party filler toys for £8+vat would be great if you have multiple advent calendars to fill. There's a few of each type of toy in the bag.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/08/2017 16:54

Thanks Reastie

I already have £72 in nectar points saved for the Christmas big shop.

You can pay online using nectar points. Frugal & convenient.
