Wow, prequel is all filled up and it's not even august!

So I will start a new op at some point but since it's only July and things will be slower the links will portably be out of date by the time the next thread starts so I'll save that for later.

Welcome everyone to Christmas Bargain Central, a place to post and share ideas and offers .

Boots Summer Clearance

Lots of good deals on here, scented candles, beauty advent calendars, make up, toys, stationary and a few gift sets with up to 75% off!

BlueIsYou · 01/08/2017 09:43

When do most retailers stop discounting things because it's almost Christmas?

I would imagine they tactfully put their prices up because of demand at the time, surely? Grin

I will have a few week old baby come December time so not sure how I'll do my usual frantics of shopping like a mad woman down the shops.

I don't like online shopping for Christmas Envy

christmasunicorn · 01/08/2017 09:43

Thank you tatty for those dates. I'm waiting for the Sainsbury's toy sale and the 18th oct would be perfect as I'm off work that week but the dc are still at school!

MooPointCowsOpinion · 01/08/2017 09:51

Oh my god it's here! I love this thread every year and I can never keep up with you lot, no matter how hard I try.

I am continuing my quest for really really awesome outside lights this year, especially for our back garden.

I have already purchased the first few things for advent fun in the ELC sale. On the day we go to see Santa kids will open this Santa set and when we write letters to Santa we have this postman set.

Both bargains!

I've ordered then BBCgoodfood wine club wines for my dDad. If you follow the link in the picture, you can choose from a mixed, white or red case (I got red) and it is £52.99 for £125ish of decent wine. Also with the code in the picture you get an extra free bottle of Rioja and a Darlington Decanter worth £50.99 (instead of the prosecco and champagne flutes shown) and free delivery! On until the 30/9 I think

Thanks for the Boots tip, Melina.

DSis has been after one of those Woodwick crackling candles for ages (she has a thing for candles...it's not an affinity I share!). I was going to buy her one anyway, but £10 instead of £25 for the big ones is a great deal!

MrsCrimbo74 · 01/08/2017 11:02

Vistaverde · 01/08/2017 11:48

Morning all. Glad to find the thread up and running again. I only discovered it last year and I got some great bargains. Thank you Reastie for all your work.

This is the first time I have few ideas for my will be nearly 7 year old at Christmas and for his birthday in January. So hopefully this thread will provide some inspiration.

I am going to look more into the coding Lego as that might be a possibility.

The one thing he would really like is Monopoly if anybody finds any cheap deals, thank you.

DangerousMouse · 01/08/2017 11:51

Crimbo

DangerousMouse · 01/08/2017 11:53

This lego coding - I haven't heard of it before, do you think its ok for a 13 year old? My daughter is starting computer science in september and is just getting into coding, but do you think its too young for her?

Rainybo · 01/08/2017 11:58

You might be better with a Raspberry Pi dangerousmouse

Llamacorn · 01/08/2017 11:58

Most things out of stock on boots sale unfortunately, as some great bargains there. I wonder if the items saying 'stock coming soon' will come back while the sale is still on?

DangerMouse what age is your dd? I bought my dd (15) the youth ones as they were so much cheaper - about £50! And they actually fit me too - I don't particularly have a small head either Grin

LexieLulu · 01/08/2017 12:00

@DangerousMouse keep a look out on very, usually bank holiday sales. I got ray ban aviators from £150 to £60.

Now when they email me about a ale I look instantly at ray bans

DangerousMouse · 01/08/2017 12:04

ooh Raspberry pi, sounds tasty Confused I know nothing about this stuff! just had a quick look at the lego and its too expensive, not looking for a main present.

I have ordered her ray bans now thanks Lexi I'm happy with the ones from sunglasses shop, £69 isn't a bad price at all I don't think - although I would have checked out the kids ones if I'd have known.
