I second the asda wooden dolls house plus furniture. We've had ours a year, its played with daily and has so far managed to survive a rather heavy handed nearly 4 year old and her 18 month old brother. Thank u for this fab thread again, got some amazing bargains last year and hoping for more of the same

Speaking of jewellery Molly Brown do the most beautiful children's jewellery and have some lovely bits in their sale. It's really good quality. I bought DGD a silver bangle when she was born and I've had the baby necklace in the sale. They come in beautiful packaging too.

Just-3 DS loves Imaginext, a doll and buggy, the play kitchen, diggers of all sizes, a brilliant Little Tikes car transporter, jigsaws and he still loves his cutting fruit and veg!

Picked up a couple of make your own Mr Men / little miss kits today for a fiver each in the entertainer, a 12in Marvels War Machine action figure for 6quid in tk maxx and a Groot from the same range (titan heroes - 12in quite basic but v robust) that grows taller from Disney shop, marked down to 8.99 but scanned at 6something.

Amazon have a game called doodle specs reduced to £1.99, not sure what it's like...my phone won't let me copy the link unfortunately.

I don't know whether it's the grey skies or the fact that another school year has ended, but my thoughts had just turned to Christmas shopping and, lo and behold, here you all were! My DD also wants an 18 inch doll, but one of the Argos ones (she prefers their faces). Typically, she fell in love with one that's out of stock everywhere . If your DD isn't too worried about the branding, ginger, you could try eBay and Aliexpress for clothes. Search for American Girl doll clothes or 18 inch doll clothes. I have no idea what the quality and fit are like, but I took a chance on the following and will report back:

I also came across Frilly Lilly who do gorgeous school uniforms for 18 inch dolls. Not cheap though. They don't have a match for DD's uniform, so I'm going to attempt to sew some little uniforms myself from her out-grown shirts and skirts. Wish me luck!

Argos have the Thomas take and play trains (metal ones) with the magnets reduced to £3.99 each. They have stopped doing the magnet ones now, so harder to find.

Argos also have Thomas pjs for £2.99 in the clearance section.

Someone mentioned ALDI candles. They're a blatant jo malone rip off but very good. My mum loved them. Few weeks ago now so may not be many left.

If you have children who like Smiggle, it's worth looking at the Tinc sale. Postage is £3.25 or free if you spend over £30 unlike the stupid prices Smiggle charge for p&p
