Hello!

So many people have said they miss the bargain threads that I thought I would have to start EVEN earlier this year.

So here we are!

Happy hunting

ohno :(

MelinaMercury · 25/07/2017 16:38

Yes, they don't seem to have great reviews which is a shame as they look fantastic!

I almost bought one on the link above even though we don't need it! but read the reviews first thankfully.

MelinaMercury · 25/07/2017 16:40

Random question but do you all have a list of ideas that you'd like to buy or just buy as you see a bargain?

We're short on storage and space this year plus they don't really play with much so I'm being pickier than normal which is annoying when I'm seeing all these cool things lol

wornoutboots · 25/07/2017 17:03

we got the xeon koopies last year and they were fine (until my 4 year old jabbed the eyes out of one)

wornoutboots · 25/07/2017 17:09

my eldest is 7 so there's still a lot of "whatever I see that's a bargain"
but I do keep a list and try to not over-do it, and make sure it's about equal in value and number of parcels for the kids.

One secton of built in wardrobe is for present storage!

wornoutboots · 25/07/2017 17:09

and I try to keep their likes and dislikes in mind.

VoldemortsNipple · 25/07/2017 17:38

Disney Joy doll £2 at the entertainer. They also have Anger for the same price http://www.thetoyshop.com/dolls-soft-toys/soft-toys/Disney-Inside-Out-Soft-Toy---Joy/p/528459_joyy***

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 25/07/2017 18:06

Melina I have a list but will buy bargains if they'll def be used - bought a couple of cheap playmobil sets recently that wasn't on my list but I know will go down well! Personally without a list I think it's easy to overbuy.

FireflyGirl · 25/07/2017 18:21

Melina I'm the same as Nice above - I have a list, but will buy anything that is an absolute bargain if it's suitable. I get round this by having a vague list - eg I knew I wanted to buy DS a 'playset'. Was waiting to see what came up and bought the Imaginext Castle reduced from £50 to £15.

Similarly, I have 'books' and 'educational game'.

Next year I will have 'Playmobil' - I know from this thread what kinds of things will come up and at what prices, but I will see what bargains actually come up.

Then I have a budget and a list to keep track of what's been bought. Once I've bought everything, usually at the beginning of December, I disappear from the thread, to reemerge from about April Grin

MelinaMercury · 25/07/2017 19:22

That sounds similar to what I've done this year, normally it's a free for all and I get carried away but there really isn't any point with my two!

Planned a book, a game, something practical, a novelty gift and a choice gift.

I've picked up some bits to match this but whether I such to it or not is a different matter... Blush

Reastie · 25/07/2017 19:28

I have some mental ideas or I pick items that I see based on how good value they are if I know of someone that will like them. I have two present cupboards for general gifts (one for adults and one of children and one shelf of the adults cupboard is specifically for Christmas themed items!) and cards etc and use the loft to stash stuff for dd.

SideOrderofSprouts · 25/07/2017 19:33

Allo Reastie

Is it that time?

Hi everyone, just thought I would share my bargains (sort of). My little girl wanted a Smiggle backpack; they have some in the sale but at £23 not a massive bargain but better then £33. Also went through TopCashback so will have a couple of quid back on there.
Also through TopCashback I went to the Nike then clicked through to the converse website and found a pair of converse pumps for £14.99 and the code extra20 give a further 20% off, so they were £11.99 with free postage.

Reastie · 25/07/2017 20:54

🕰😃

OhOurBilly · 25/07/2017 21:56

My1st years website has 20% off on personalised backpacks. Trying to kid myself that I'm not going to buy one for DS, cause he obviously needs one what with all his luggage needs, being all of nearly 8 months old. I believe it ends on Monday.

woodwaj · 26/07/2017 07:36

I have a budget per person rather than a list. I really struggle these days as the kids in the family get older! I really need bargain gifts for an almost 11 year old non verbal autistic boy and i actually have no ideas for my son who will be almost 3 also non verbal so won't be asking for anything! My £3.50 hype bag from last year went down well so pleased with that especially as they sent the wrong one!
