We've got broccoli as half the family won't eat sprouts vom How can you have a roast of any sort without broccoli???!

mirokarikovo · 23/12/2016 15:34

We have broccoli, carrots, peas, baby roast potatoes and sweet potato wedges. No cauliflower, no sprouts, no parsnips. Am I a terrible human being?

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/12/2016 15:38

You need broccoli and cauliflower cheese of course, rush out and sort it immediately.

NormaSmuff · 23/12/2016 16:02

I might do brillo Wink

Wedges!?! On a Christmas dinner?!

Waitingfordolly · 23/12/2016 16:10

Oh no, I was planning to do broccoli. Christmas is ruined.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/12/2016 16:12

I had some broccoli in my shopping delivery yesterday. It has a small red sticker on it saying 'perfect for Christmas' Hmm

It's exactly the same broccoli as we eat every week...

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 23/12/2016 16:14

I'm doing maple syrup carrots, green beans and that's that.

HerodZackHunt · 23/12/2016 16:19

We're having broccoli. Always do. Dd will only eat the roast potatoes and broccoli.

Titsywoo · 23/12/2016 17:55

I love broccoli on a xmas dinner! Well tenderstem broccoli of course!

We have broccoli, sprouts, peas, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, parsnips (yuck) and mashed carrots.

NotCitrus · 23/12/2016 18:00

What no peas or green beans? (handily already in the freezer).
I grabbed parsnips and red cabbage today, to go with peas and carrots and fried mushrooms. May get some cavolo nero if i end up in the shops tomorrow.

Lilaclily · 23/12/2016 18:00

We have broccoli because dd won't eat sprouts

Lilaclily · 23/12/2016 18:01

I do wonder how some of you fit all the food on one plate Xmas Grin

HerChristmasFattyness · 23/12/2016 22:30

lilac easy...create a food mountain Xmas Grin

HSMMaCM · 23/12/2016 22:48

Parsnips! I knew I'd forgotten something.

Permanentlyexhausted · 23/12/2016 22:59

There is always broccoli on my roast dinner, especially at Christmas. And roast parsnips, carrots, sprouts, and mashed swede.

Cabbage should only ever be eaten raw. It's grim when cooked.

Figureof80 · 23/12/2016 23:14

I have broccoli it is a vehicle for cheese sauce.

helensburgh · 23/12/2016 23:23

Carrots.only here!

NormaSmuff · 23/12/2016 23:25

despite going to the shops twice since this post, I still have resisted the brocolli, even at 40p.

NataliaOsipova · 23/12/2016 23:28

Broccoli is the world's best vegetable and will definitely be included in my Christmas dinner. As it is included in 95% of all dinners cooked in the Osipova household. Much to my DH's ongoing disgust. All meals are better with a broccoli side....

museypants · 23/12/2016 23:28

We do peas, carrots, sprouts and parsnips. We did try broccoli a couple of years ago but it didn't go down very well.

thedcbrokemybank · 23/12/2016 23:56

We're having:
Sprouts
White cabbage with onion, bacon and garlic
Braised red cabbage
Carrots
Maple syrup parsnips

Do I need more greenery?? I would never have considered peas or broccoli with Christmas dinner.

ILoveAGoodBrusselSprout · 23/12/2016 23:59

No! We have broccoli about 3 or 4 times per week but I'd NEVER consider it for Xmas dinner.

Allalonenow · 24/12/2016 00:06

I'd rather have broccoli than cabbage any day, but especially at Christmas.
Cauli/broccoli cheese is a favourite here. Xmas Grin

kittytom · 24/12/2016 00:34

I am doing sprouts, red cabbage and parsnips. I got butternut squash, leeks and broccoli with an Xmas eve meal in mind (salmon), That said I can't see why they wouldn't go with Xmas dinner if one wanted to eat them...
