What books did you get this year?

I love a book thread! And on general 'what have you bought' threads I usually just list them as 'books' but it's fun to see what everyone will be reading.

I bought way too many this year - I promised myself last Christmas that I wouldn't go mad, but then I befriended an Usborne seller. She does sales throughout the year and I bought loads at great discount.

Some are coming from my parents/grandma as they prefer me buying on their behalf. Some are from Santa as DD insisted that Santa always brings books!

DH - I've got him the latest Ben Aaronovitch, although I just decided to swap it with the much needed hat I got him for his birthday so he won't actually get it until next month.

Dp - The Selfish Gene and another one I've currently forgotten - something to do with the brain
Various Ladybird books including Mindfulness and Zombie Apocalypse for various people
Friends - a book about Prague

Dh - Bruce Springsteen autobiography, Jurgen Klopp biography. My parents have got him the last one in the Stieg Larsson trilogy.

Dad - Heresy by SJ Parris

Mum - Tom Jones autobiog

Ds - Pokemon handbook, Horrid Henry, Thunderbirds storybook, Star Wars and Castles activity books.

Dd - Disney Storybook collection (for birthday), Abney and Teal, Peter Rabbit activity book, Dress up sticker book.

I usually buy the kids more reading books but we have a lot and use the library loads so trying to be restrained!

DD: all of the Little House on the Prairie books, and the latest Dork Diaries book.

DS: all of the Worst Witch books that he doesn't already have and the Epic Book of Epicness.

DP: a graphic novel he asked for but I no nothing about it.

I've asked DP for either The Essex Serpent, Golden Hill or the Cornish Trilogy.

Can I please recommend a true crime book called, 'I'll Get You'.....it is an unputdownable book and the author was so traumatised by the events described in her book, that she is unable to work and is hoping her career as author works out!!! Please buy!!!!!!

I've got both my sisters the John Lewis Stempel book The Running Hare, because it was the best thing I've read in years and wanted to share it.
DS1 has Jens Voight & Chris Boardman autobiographies, the Alex 2016 cartoon book and The Ladybird Book of the Zombie Apocalypse for his stocking.
DS2 doesn't read much but has the GCHQ puzzle book in his stocking.
Nephew has t he Tim Peake picture book and Neice has aFrank Cotterell Boyce book as part of her present. Actually I'm now surprised how few books I'm giving this year.

DS (6) - Match of the Day annual, Roald Dahl joke book, Guinness Book of Records, a football fact book, box set of Beast Quest books from the Book People.

the only book I brought was a new one from Waterstones called survivors for ds 10 and 8,
It tells the stories of people who have survived, mountain rescues etc. I think they will find it interesting.
