As soon as you get them, or last thing on Christmas Eve? or somewhere in between?

Plan: as I am on maternity leave, a few everyday, finishing before the school holidays. Beautiful piles with ribbons and extra flourishes.

Reality: school broke up yesterday and I've crudely wrapped one small present.

Luckily DP has made a good start on things, but we will have to do DD's when she is in bed, or get my parents to take her out.

Do some of you wrap stocking presents too?Xmas Confused

mummydawn07 · 22/12/2016 12:23

CremeEggThief no bloody way, I don't wrap stocking fillers, just shove them in the stockings and let the kids get on with it Grin it's enough hard work wrapping main presents

CremeEggThief · 22/12/2016 12:29

Exactly, mummydawn, but people are talking about wrapping stocking presents on this thread! Maybe they mean as in small gifts, not literally presents in a stocking?

Stiddleficks · 22/12/2016 12:32

I wrap stocking fillers, the kids come into our bed so it makes it last a bit longer and I get to doze more, unless something is really tiny or a really unusual shape then I don't bother.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 22/12/2016 12:34

Christmas Eve. Used to be after DS went to bed, now he's 16 I have to be more careful with his but it's just the way it is!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 22/12/2016 12:35

And yes I wrap stocking gifts.

WeAllHaveWings · 22/12/2016 12:45

do it in stages when I can be bothered and/or ds is out. learnt many years ago leaving it to xmas eve is madness!

Flumpsnlumpsnstuff · 22/12/2016 13:31

I have just decided next year to give it all to my neighbour Grinas a letter has now come through the door from her saying she will wrap presents for 50p each. Bit late for this year though Confused

AmserGwin · 22/12/2016 13:39

Once I have finished all my shopping I do everyone else's (not the kids) sometime in the week before Xmas - did them last night.
With the kids stuff, I wait until they are asleep Xmas eve then get it all out, wrap it and put it under the tree. Saves hiding it again after wrapping. I usually rope my sister in to help me, and we wrap and drink prosecco at the same time.

Beth2511 · 22/12/2016 14:34

whenever my 2 year old and 11 week old actually let me

BrownieQueen75 · 22/12/2016 16:26

I started last week - have spent 4 evenings wrapping so far but almost finished (aiming to get the last ones wrapped tonight or tomorrow). I wrap everything - stocking fillers too.

fuzzywuzzy · 22/12/2016 16:29

Last weekend, forced DP to wrap them with me. Was getting v twitchy how close to Xmas it is and not a single gift he been wrapped.

All gifts from this week have been bought wrapped. I'm not leaving it night before I will go crazy.

paddypants13 · 22/12/2016 16:52

I usually leave it until the last flipping minute but this year I've been doing 3 or 4 a night alternating with ironing (oh, it's so exciting in the Paddy house!). I finished the last ones on Monday.

J0kersSmile · 22/12/2016 16:56

I've just finished mine. I did the bulk of it a few evenings ago and today I finished it.

Well apart from the three more presents I need to buy.

irregularegular · 22/12/2016 18:56

Yes I do really wrap the small presents stuffed in the (proper) stockings. About 10 each - everything apart from the coin, satsuma and choc coins. They are more fun wrapped and it really doesn't take long. They are certainly not neatly wrapped and it uses up odd ends of paper.

dingdongthewitchishere · 22/12/2016 20:47

Ideally before the December. I never seem to accurately calculate the amount of wrapping paper required, and I want an early night after a drink with my husband. The kids can be too excited to fall asleep easily, and they tend to wake up early on Christmas morning.

We don't do stockings.

CharleyDavidson · 22/12/2016 20:56

Did the ones for my side of the family the other day.

Doing the DC's ones as soon as they bugger off to bed tonight. Hopefully DH will help. He will at least have seen what they are getting!

Wrapping the ones to DH's side of the family Boxing day eve or the morning the next day. We don't see them til the 27th/28th as they are away for Christmas.

DH's won't be wrapped til March as he's decided he wants NOTHING for Christmas and has reinforced that request repeatedly. So I shall give him his gifts for his birthday instead.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 22/12/2016 21:12

Befor school finishes for the holidays. This year it was close to the wire, one day left, but I got it done.

I hate wrapping more than anything. Couldn't do it in the evening, dses go to bed far too late!

mummydawn07 · 22/12/2016 22:00

I must be one of the rare few that actually enjoys wrapping presents, when I was younger I used to do all the wrapping for my mum, she loved it Grin saved her the job ( there were lots and lots of them ), I will be doing my wrapping tomorrow night after I finish work and when the kids are asleep, that leaves xmas eve for drinking eating and having a good time

bearsnumberonefan · 22/12/2016 22:15

I wrap all stocking fillers too. I do enjoy wrapping though

thedcbrokemybank · 22/12/2016 22:31

I wrap stocking fillers. Adds to the anticipation which is the best bit for me.
I have been wrapping an hour or so each night for the last week. I used to do it on Christmas Eve but had a few drinks one year and it was wholly unpleasant so vowed never to repeat.

elQuintoConyo · 22/12/2016 22:44

I wrapped Monday afternoon. DH did his friends/family, I do mine. I twist stocking gifts in a bit of crepe paper, or tissue paper (recycled from other gifts Grin) and seal with washi tape. Looks a bit crappy - but really doesn't matter.

I couldn't leave it until DS goes to bed Christmas Eve. I like to tidy up a bit, get some washing up done, set the table for breakfast, have a drink and some special Christmas Eve Sex Wink
