Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

That code was the one I saw. Pity, the mugs are quite expensive.

Bearsnumberonefan · 09/12/2016 23:20

I'm still waiting for my space nk order, really hoping I don't get the nars blush as that is what I had ordered from them!

confuugled1 · 09/12/2016 23:25

If anyone needs anything photographic presentwise, there are some weekend deals on at tesco photo - half price on photo books and diaries, discounts on other things and then a general sliding scale depending on how much you spend to give the discounts - all shown obviously on the site.

THink it's just for the weekend.

RJnomore1 · 09/12/2016 23:32

I've just introduced dh to holy flaps and I think he's sorted for secret Santa for the rest of his life 😂

Curlyfrizzball · 09/12/2016 23:45

Trickofthetail1 - those chocolates look great, thank you.

LBOCS2 · 10/12/2016 00:27

They are wee, but I'm a bit happy every time I drink out of my favourite mug, so it's sort of worth it. I have to make full use of it now, before DD1 learns how to read...

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 10/12/2016 06:59

That's very exciting ihate

I see someone has mentioned a NOTHS code but I can't find it. Anyone know it?

Methenyouplus4 · 10/12/2016 07:45

Strange request- Rodger the Dodger linked stuff for £5 or under? Could be stationary (or whatever) or striped socks or something???

Also something for an artist for around £5?

Grrrr-work secret Santa (love it really but awkward when you work somewhere huge and don't know people very well).

readit · 10/12/2016 08:32

Toys R Us in Tunbridge Wells had a few hatchimals left on the shelves when they closed last night if anyone local needs one

imsorryiasked · 10/12/2016 08:48

methenyou assuming you don't mean Roger the Dodger film then how about the Beano annual or Beano Top Trumps?
Art gallery shops often have some bits for artists - try tate or npg online if you don't have a local one.

confuugled1 · 10/12/2016 09:44

Methen for an artist a good cheap but different but worthwhile present is a sketchbook of black paper rather than white paper and a white and/or very pale coloured pencils to use on it.

Most artists draw black on white but apparently drawing white on black is different and it's not something they would usually do or have but will still enjoy the challenge... I've bought it as a present for arty friends/relatives a few times and it's always gone down well. Last year I got the black sketchbook and a white and cream drawing pencil from Hobbycraft for about a fiver. Just remember to check the paper inside the sketchbook is black - first time I asked where they were they assumed I wanted white paper with a black cover rather than black paper with any old cover!

Some new Beano top trumps have just come out on the Beano store - cost about £7 ibcluding delivery but there are sometimes codes on their facebook page or if you sign up for a newsletter. Wilkos has a Beano range in their xmas section but it's more general rather than specific characters.
Alternatively if it is definitely Roger and not Dennis you want, try searching on ebay if you don't mind vintage used stuff - there was more stuff around for the other characters years ago. Can you trll I have a Beano monster fan!

bonnieweelass · 10/12/2016 09:47

any perfume codes please or deals as DM has said she'd like a new bottle of chanel.

also any deals on wine and male jumpers?

mashpot · 10/12/2016 09:48

Argh! Had that Tim Peake book in my Amazon basket for weeks and checked it out at £9.99 on Thursday! Damn it.

Ness1234 · 10/12/2016 09:58

The Fragrance Shop is always having deals, so you could look for Chanel there.

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 10:28

I'm having a wee Christmas wobble here and I'm not brace enough to post my own thread so I'm hoping you guys talk sense into me.

Both my dds have loads of presents (loads Blush) buttt dh got a bargain PlayStation when they dropped to £149 and we've decided to give dd1 it however I feel it's a bit unfair on dd2. She's got bigger boxes but I've def spent a fair bit less on her overall.

So I'm twitching to buy a new tv for her, a bigger one, which she does not need and has not asked for. I'd be up for getting her something else if anyone had any ideas. Or is it ok to have a big ticket item less for one child if the child is still getting everything they asked for (mostly my little pony and anime figures)?

Badders123 · 10/12/2016 10:34

Hmmm....I do see your point and I'm the same mad 😀
Is it a bargain?
Will you need to replace old tv at some point this year and perhaps pay more?
If you can afford it and if you will be saving money in the long run then I would.
I twitched yesterday too this feels like a confessional!!
Bought the DC a dinosaur tail thing that props up mobile phones so you watch videos/films etc. Only £5 but still......

Lapinlapin · 10/12/2016 10:35

What's the difference in age between them, RJ? If dd2 is considerably younger, then I don't think spending different amounts on them will matter as a) she probably wouldn't notice or think to add it up and b) you've got lots of future Christmases where you can spend more on her than dd1.

Or, could the PlayStation be a joint present?

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 10:37

It's not really a bargain although tv prices in general now make it feel like a bargain to me. She has a very small tv DVD combo she inherited two years ago when her nana passed away so no idea how long that will last.

She's 12 and I think she would enjoy a smart tv as she watches a lot of Pokemon and nail tutorials on YouTube.

Aargh I don't know - any other ideas I could get her?

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 10:38

Oh her sister is 17. She's got a lot of very small but ultra expensive make up packages.

Oreocrumbs · 10/12/2016 10:41

Rj will the 12 year old know the value of the make up?

I'd probably guess that in the excitement of all of her presents she won't be clocking hers sisters smaller pile and thinking hang on ....

So I think I would leave it be and perhaps spend more on her another time.

Or could the PlayStation be a joint present? unless they will kill each other

sh700 · 10/12/2016 10:44

Could you hold back some of DD1's original presents so they match up in value a bit more? Tricky.

I'm so close to being done but stuck with a present for a 3.5 yr old girl. She's VERY active and not one for sitting down to play with any games or toys much. Budget £10. Anyone any ideas? They've got a massive garden so thought about an outdoor toy but can't really find anything.

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 10:45

See probably not re the value, I think it's just me feeling guilty. Dd1 always seems to get more spent on her than dd2.

Yes they would kill each other if it was shared, they inherited an Xbox when dh upgraded and it has not gone well. I had a thought the x box could now go in dd2s room - she has lots of games for it while dd1 only has skyrim but as dd1 has a huge room and a bigger tv it went in there.

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 10:46

Does she have a space hopper sh? £8.99 in Argos
