Thread 20 - I want a present shitting log

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 08/12/2016 12:27

Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

In other news, is anyone else disappointed with the sales? I usually manage to kit out ds with clothes for the next year, but this year I haven't found a single thing. Was also hoping to stock up present cupboard, but nope!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 26/12/2016 07:14

I haven't found anything other than a couple of bits in the sweaty Betty sale yet. Looking for Christmas cards but haven't found anything I like in stock and decently reduce.

JL still have most of their Christmas cards full price which is irritating. I'm trying to get organised but am being thwarted!

todayisabeautifulday · 26/12/2016 09:28

Paperchase had lots of cards reduced.

ihatethecold · 26/12/2016 10:09

I've just bought some This Works bargains from their website.
I love their stuff but it's very pricey.

PamelaPatricia · 26/12/2016 14:40

Some good annual (the books) offers on Amazon Prime including Minecraft, Lego Star Wars, and The Secret Life of Pets for £1 each

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/12/2016 16:13

Thanks for this year reastie, chips etal
Loads of great pressie that went down really well and not a full priced item in the lot.
Sales, not so good I don't think. Got some soap and glory in boots and Christmas bits for 50p in poundland but not much else.

DubiousCredentials · 26/12/2016 16:53

Whoever recommended a) Dobble and b) those cheap Barbie mermaid tail outfits from Amazon Flowers THANK YOU as both have been a huge hit here.

Really disappointed with The Sales though.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 26/12/2016 19:07

Elc toys have gone down well here! Thanks for the inspiration and kick up the arse just to get things bought asap! Much less stress than usual! But I am shopped out now, can't be bothered with even looking at the sales!!! See you next year!

Whattodowithaminute · 26/12/2016 20:24

Massive lion and tiger cited as the best presents in this house! Just done a top up on wrapping paper from John Lewis ready for next year. Thanks all!

BWatchWatcher · 27/12/2016 11:45

I need a nice present for a 1 year old boy around 10-15£?

doctorboo · 27/12/2016 13:47

BWatchWatcher My boys all love this light up musical drum that we got from The Early Learning Centre 4.5 years agp. The one in the link is from Argos and is currently in the sale.
We got ours 4.5 years ago for our eldest (now 5.5yrs) for Christmas and it's still being played with by our youngest who is 18 month old. All 3 of them play with it and it still looks brand new.

ScarlettDarling · 27/12/2016 20:03

girl I know what you mean! So sad when these threads slowed down! When do the Christmas bargain threads start up again? Xmas Grin

SixtyDegreesNorth · 28/12/2016 00:13

We could always pop over to the Parties section for a few months? Talk about bargains and ideas for birthdays, weddings, christenings, Easter etc? There used to be a really popular birthday party thread but it seems to have gone.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 28/12/2016 08:34

I went to the pound shop yesterday where Christmas stuff was 50p and got a dozen stocking fillers for dd for next year to go in the loft [organised]. It was practically empty and I was the only one looked excited in the Christmas section Blush

Brilliant! @doctorboo! I'd forgotten about that toy. Will order one!

BWatchWatcher · 28/12/2016 12:24

Good present for a 7 year old girl? Likes drawing.

doctorboo · 28/12/2016 14:19

@BWatchWatcher no problem, it's one of the few 'original' toys that have been kept (DH is anti clutter).

My cousin is 7 in February and I've got (stashed away) a My Little Pony figure that you 'doodle' on and decorate. Would that type of thing work?

Kat3L · 29/12/2016 07:30

Thanks Reastie for leading another year of fantastic bargain sharing. It's been great fun and I'll look out for you all again next year. All the very best for 2017!

SomethingOfTheNight · 29/12/2016 13:58

Jamie Oliver's Christmas Cook Book down to £8.50, lowest ever according to CCC.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/12/2016 16:05

Ooh something I am very tempted by JO christmas but trying to resist...I feel like this thread has turned me into some stocks and shares type I am hanging on for £6.50 before I buy!
