GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 08/12/2016 12:27

Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

RJ could you get her a tv and say the xbox is to go in her room so theu both end up with a games machine in their room?

ASpiderInTheManger · 10/12/2016 11:02

RJ, I'm like you and feel guilty if more gets spent on one than the other. This year my dd2 had less so i bought her some 'experiences' - ice skating lessons, a six month pass for the farm she loves to go to, tickets to a panto in January.. Could you do similar? If she loves anime could you buy tickets for the both of you to go to an anime convention next year? Or a my little pony convention? (My 13 year old is also a fan of both and we did anime con and Brony con last year!)

SittingDrinkingTea · 10/12/2016 11:08

I've just twitched on the Tim Peake book, it's now down to £7 on amazon. I don't even know who I'm going to give it to, I might just keep it for myself Grin

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 11:09

I had been thinking that way confuugled.

She would LOVE brony com though

ASpiderInTheManger · 10/12/2016 11:20

RJ I think last years Brony con was the last 😭 But pony con is still going. Comic con could be another option.
We went away for the weekend and made it a 'big' present. She definitely appreciated it more than she would've appreciated a gift in her hand on Christmas Day (sorry not trying to talk you into it Grin Just in general, the advice I would give to anyone is that children really appreciate experiences as well as opening presents).

doistayordoigo · 10/12/2016 11:23

Always Wilkinsons had cocktail sets in store, four cocktail licquer syrups Ithink with something else in the pack too (can't remember what as it was a few weeks ago) They were around £5 I think, but can't find it on the website to check. They also have individual cocktail shakers with a cocktail mix for £4 Shakers

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 10/12/2016 11:30

RJ I think I would get dd2 something to even it out, and I'm not usually fussy about spending exactly the same. A TV sounds good and I'm sure your dd would be so excited about that. Or maybe tickets to go and see something she loves?

wornoutboots · 10/12/2016 11:35

I stop reading for a few days to try to stop spending... and now I'll never catch up!

anyone finished wraping yet?

bonnieweelass · 10/12/2016 11:39

did someone have a charles tyrwhitt code please? can't find it on thread, too many posts

Thekidsthatpukedxmas · 10/12/2016 11:40

Bonnie 15% off everything at the fragrance shop with code SORRY15

confusedalways · 10/12/2016 11:43

Has anybody seen the hampers from Thorntons? I usually buy a huge one when it's on sale as a whole family gift. I can't see any on the website though, just a couple of 'bundles' which says they don't come in the gift box.

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2016 11:48

Right pony con is Late October so ideal for her September birthday. I do like ticket/event/thing to do presents but I think you've actually talked me into the tv, it's £170 now so price wise close to the play station and I think she would like it.

Her best present ever was the year I got her take that tickets mind you.

bonnieweelass · 10/12/2016 11:49

thanks for code

littledinaco · 10/12/2016 11:55

I'm a long time lurker on these threads, thanks for all the great bargains.

I've got a couple of NEXT £20 off £50 spend if anyone wants to pm me.

GlowWine · 10/12/2016 12:08

confused is this what you're looking for?

www.thorntons.co.uk/christmas-hampers

GlowWine · 10/12/2016 12:15

confused you've made me browse the Thorntons web site, I'm seriously tempted by their Christmas bundle down to £35 from £50 (no hamper box though)
www.thorntons.co.uk/christmas-gifts/christmas-share-bundle-54419.html

confusedalways · 10/12/2016 12:15

Almost GlowWine they normally have ones with a reindeer or snowman or something christmassy in.

confusedalways · 10/12/2016 12:17

That one does look perfect I just don't know what it comes in to give as a gift though. I normally have it delivered to my mums so won't have a chance to see it before handing it over!

verytiredmummy1 · 10/12/2016 12:25

I had an email from Yankee saying that the code shared on here was shared 'without permission' and it had created a delay in orders :( hope it gets here for Xmas!

ihatethecold · 10/12/2016 12:48

What's pony con ?

sh700 · 10/12/2016 13:46

RJ space hopper is a great idea! Off to look now thanks!

Ness1234 · 10/12/2016 13:55

Bonnie The Fragrance shop have definitely an offer on Chanel, received an email this afternoon, Chanel with a free gift, special bag and a card.

bonnieweelass · 10/12/2016 14:30

hmmm, I ordered from there using the code above, got the special bag but no other gift or card was mentioned?

Got DF, DM, DH, DDog and DNephew all sorted. Know what DD wants (but need to wait on payday cos its a phone - any deals appreciated!). No idea what to get DNeice (14yo) - might just give money.

bonnieweelass · 10/12/2016 14:31

and isn't it annoying as hell when you buy something for someone who 'doesn't care' only for them to then tell you "oh I want insert name of very expensive gift"

MrsCocoa · 10/12/2016 14:39

Help - DS aged 7 announced to Santa at the school Xmas fair that the only thing he wants is an XBox. (Not the karaoke machine he has been talking about since October). No idea where to start but it needs to be bargainous - old model/reconditioned etc etc? Any suggestions anyone?
